### "Easy to use but not easy to fix. "

I am a Virtual Assistant. I help small businesses and entrepreneurs with the administrative pieces of their business such as accounts payable, bookkeeping, organization, etc. I'm always on the lookout for technology that can make my clients' lives easier. Quickbooks, for instance, does that. purports to do that, and a year ago I would have been singing their praises. I am not singing their praises this year. Nor am I recommending them to any of my clientele. The administrative church of the past two months created from issues Melio caused has cost one of my client's time, effort, and money. We now have a project that is critically in danger because of Melio's failure to communicate in a timely fashion. I get it, everyone's busy, but a company that prides itself on payment processing needs quicker response times and customer service agents who are better empowered to handle client's complaints. 24-48 hours is not good enough for a payment processor. 5 days even less so. I will not be recommending Melio to any of my clients going forward. You're better off getting Bill Pay through your financial institution and having your bank handle everything. Or, better yet, the old-fashioned, check or credit card method. Melio has proven they are unreliable.

Pros

The ease of use is incomparable. I will give that at least. You can select multiple bills at a time and halve your effort when it's time to pay off invoices.

Cons

The unreliability. And this is on two different fronts. I use as a contracted Virtual Assistant/consultant with clients. My client uses Melio for ease of payment. However, the last two months have been a nightmare to deal with because of actions Melio took without communication or resolution. 1. Single-Use Card Option: This shouldn't even be an option, in my opinion for anyone. There is too great a risk of fraud. Anyone with access to a company's email can change their payment receipt to a different form, such as single-use card without anyone being the wiser. I've had this happen twice now, and it's put a serious strain on vendor relations and made us look like zeros instead of heroes. Worst of all, support does nothing but say it's the "payer's responsibility" to check information. That's true enough and I agree wholeheartedly, but the idea that anyone with a company's email address can just change informaiton at will is, frankly, a little concerning. 2. ACH payments get denied without any reason cited and then you can't get a response out of support except to say to contact the "Compliance" team or "Bill Payments Operation." I've now had three instances of payments being stopped--critical payments I'd add. The first took two weeks to fix. First, it was stopped by the "Compliance" team. I did my due diligence and contacted said team for resolution. I contacted the Bill Pay Operations team as well for resolution. You know how long it took to get ANYONE to responde? FIVE DAYS. Five days on a $20k payment. When I did get a resolution it was to say that the payment had gone through--no one even bothered to check with us to see if we still needed the payment to go through. We'd already cut a manual check for the amount and hand-delivered it to thee vendor. When Melio unilaterally pushed the payment thorugh, we had to rush to get the check voided, then notify the rest of our accounting team, the vendor, and the bank what was going on. It cost us two weeks of effort to fix one payment. Our most recent denial was for a payment to wrap up a project so we could get final payment. That was denied too. It's been 24+ hours since we've contacted support and no one has said "boo" let alone an explanation for what thee payment failed. Now we have a nearly $100k payment in the balance. Customer service agents are always busy. They're also always critically under empowered and under supported by their own companies. I don't blame them. No, I blame whoever at Melio decided that email was the only customer service line to provide and that 5 days is perfectly acceptable to respond and then only to create more problems. Up to this point, customer service has been stellar. I don't know what happened between last year and this year, but this has got to stop. Melio isn't the one who suffers the consequences of payments not going through--it's the users. It's my client's company that's suffering the effects of this lack of communication. If you have too many emails to get through HIRE MORE PEOPLE, pay them the premium rate for their service. It's not that hard, folks, it just takes spine.

### "Easy to Use, Tougher to Resolve Issues"

Pros

It's a very simple and straightforward way to automate payments (and recurring payments) to vendors, with good payment tracking capability.

Cons

If something goes wrong with a payment, good luck sorting it out. Once a had a payment bounce back from the recipient, even though I had paid them several times without issue before. customer service gave me multiple different answers as to why that might be. After allegedly "fixing" it, they had me resubmit the payment, only to have it bounce back again - only this time the money got hung up in Melio's system and I had to file a special request to get it back, which took about a week. I just ended up paying the vendor manually myself.Currently I am going back and forth with Melio over a different issue, an inexplicable claim that my tax ID number is associated with two separate accounts. They only divulge information about this in pieces, so it has been left to me to figure out what is going on. Now they want me to email them my SSN so they can confirm -- I don't think so! Of course, in the meantime, I keep getting automated emails from Melio saying "there is still a problem that you haven't resolved." Long story short, when the program works it works great, but what a s\*\*tshow when it doesn't.

### "Took My Client's Money"

is great if all you want to do is send out bills and have no issues besides cancelling a check you sent. However, the software started populating vendor names for vendors we NEVER did business with, which ultimately ended up with a check going to the wrong vendor. The vendor called me and notified me of the mistake, but would not cut us a check back or ACH us the money directly. Instead, they said their policy was to send the payment back via the exact same means it was sent to them...BIG MISTAKE! Melio claims they don't have the money and have no way of tracking it (even though I gave them all the info the need to search for it), and on top of that, they REFUSE TO ALLOW ANYONE FROM MELIO TO CALL ME!I have requested multiple times for a manager to call me. They even put in a call request...what happened? They would only respond via email and of course I kept getting representatives. After no less than 25 emails back and forth, I finally got a response from an "accountant manager" who told me there's nothing they can do and they are closing my case. Um, you have over $1200 of my client's money and I have requested multiple times to be called so I can discuss this issue with someone at the company in higher management, and I have flat out been denied! I CONSIDER THIS THEFT!!! Melio has stolen my client's money and won't make it right.You can't call them, and they WON'T CALL YOU! VERY UPSET WITH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR LACK OF FOLLOW THROUGH.

### "When it works, it's great"

Even though it is (mostly) free of charge to use, I have lost confidence that payments will be made as scheduled. The need to keep monitoring and our bank accounts means that I am now investigating other options, even if I have to pay for them.

Pros

I wanted a way of paying my vendors by ACH. I wanted to be the one that solicited their bank details - not have the payment company dis-intermediate me. There were some bonus features: if a vendor doesn't want to be paid by ACH, I can still use to pay them by check; They claimed to support international payments; I can set up multiple companies of mine on one account and have the staff of each company only access the relevant one. It's tough to argue with free.

Cons

There are some vendors that need paying every month, but the amount changes from month to month: 's recurring payments only works if the amount is constant, so you have to set up a payment from scratch each time. However the biggest issue is with payments that do not go through even after receiving notification that they are scheduled.....on several occasions, I have had to bring 'stuck' payments to Melio's attention. Operations typically blames it on Compliance and says they can't do anything.

### "Can’t get paid"

Apparently my experience is awful because I can’t get my money

Pros

I am a Notary in the state of Florida. I currently have 2 customers who are attempting to use to pay me. I have tried numerous times and different ways to set up my ACH payments to my bank account. Melio will not recognize my bank. Unfortunately now Signature Mobil Services refuses to pay me any other way and CAC has been trying to pay me thru Melio and is unable.

I still can’t get paid and I’m disgusted with the process there are no phone numbers to call and I get nowhere when I email

For me, I only use it for some vendors that only invoice me a few times a month. I found that just using my banks bill pay is just as efficient.

Pros

It's still fairly easy to use. If you are doing a minimal amount of bill pay, you will have no issues.

Cons

A lot of the services that were once provided as free are now not. Write a check, pay. Use a CC, pay.

Pros

I love . It is very easy to use, and really convenient. I am able to provide more services while spending less time per client. Thank you!

Cons

I had a problem with a Wire transfer once, I haven't tried it again to know if the issue was fixed. Will update when I use it again.

### "Fantastic Idea, poor implementation, horrific customer service"

Really poor customer service, no one is able to help or give advice, and it's a total waste of my time.

Pros

It was easy to set up an account and has a pleasing aesthetic. I was really excited to find it. It's easy to set up vendors and create an invoice (took just a tiny bit of trial and error, but it's very self explanatory).

Cons

It took 6 weeks and numerous emails and chat messages to get them to send a test payment to verify my company bank account. Finally someone who said they were a specialist or a manager said that they had put in a manual override to get my test payments sent. That should have been a warning sign. Then I tried to send my first payment to my vendor, and when I did it said the payment failed and I needed to contact compliance, with no additional information. I've gotten a dribble of requests asking for IRS letters and articles of organization. I've sent them in, but I have had no response as to why I was rejected, why they didn't ask for that information up front if it was going to be needed (it was very foreseeable), and there's no way to get a hold of anyone else. So, I've been waiting for 8+ weeks total and still don't have a functioning product, I don't have any idea what is wrong, and there's no way to contact anyone. The on-site chat rep tells me that they're not authorized to answer my questions and that I need to email the compliance team, but the compliance team is totally unresponsive.

has streamlined our accounting process internally and with our clients. it has given us the ability to work in remote situations and process payments for clients no matter where we are. The payment status and tracking has been key to making sure vendors receive payments and deposit them.

Pros

is an easy app to setup. It's integration into the accounting software is key. It is easy to use and customer service can help with any issues like Stop payments or reissuing payments which saves time on the payables side. It is a benefit that vendors can receive ACH or Checks all with a click of a button!

Cons

The cost per check can be a con of the product, since we went from using it on its inception it was an inconvenience to have to start paying a fee per payment. however the application is still less expensive than the alternative products. The process time is a bit slow, you have to anticipate about 7 business days before payment is received by a vendor.

The cost, bill.com carries a monthly subscription fee that is quite high.

### "Melio – Manage your ACH payments"

What sets apart for me is its simplicity, especially when it comes to regular vendors. Sending payments is easy and the platform also allows me to keep a record of all payments made during the year. This is incredibly helpful come tax time.

Pros

I have been using to manage payments to suppliers and contractors. The platform allows us to process ACH payments completely free of charge, which is an incredible benefit. You only incur a cost if you send more than two checks per month. I like its design and the speed at which payments are processed.

Cons

What I don't like is the customer support, it is very, very slow, and when you have a problem with a transaction it can be very tedious and time consuming.

Overall is a great software program and I am very pleased with it. I believe Melio has a lot of potential and can improve to become a wonderful resource for bookkeepers and accountants.

Pros

I love the ease with which to send payments to vendors and that availability of ach payments. I also love the approval system for my clients so that they have oversight of the money going out.

Cons

I wish the payment processing was faster. Sometimes it takes a while for my vendors to receive their payments, especially if there is a weekend or a holiday.

I have been able to have organised payments sent and my records kept safe and it has also saved me alot of cpst with is affordable access and use.

Pros

I love the fact that with you can schedule payments and they get released when its the due date,another is that you can pay your vendors bia credit card.

Cons

The least thing I did like was the UI which was less responsive at times.

### "Great for Saving Money on Credit Card and ACH Charges"

Very easy to use.

Pros

I love that there is no cost for sending my invoices and having the customer absorb the cost of credit card fees or ACH fees.

Cons

It's pretty limited and it had an issue once that I canceled a scheduled recurring payment but it continued to send payment to a vendor for months before I noticed. It did send notices via email, however so that is one me. The reason I didn't notice was because the payments were so close together, I thought the notices were the same payment. So when I got both notices, I didn't realize it was two separate payments.

Absolutely love this product and it’s affordability.

Pros

This product is a great value for what it provides. We rarely pay anything for this product as it only charges on international wires and checks. Most of our transactions are ACH and free. Processing is super easy.

Cons

The only complaint I have is there is no phone support. Getting an answer to an issue is a little delayed through a ticket system.

I love that ’s interface is very user friendly, syncs with QBO, I can complete payments to any vendor or contractor with the click of a button, it’s inexpensive, payments are received timely, there are multiple payment options.

there are very few downsides to using . The system is designed to run seamlessly and any occasional issues that arise, such as old invoices being listed in the queue that have already been paid, are quickly resolved. Overall, Melio has been a reliable and efficient way to manage payments and invoices.

### "Melio is my hero!!!!"

Excellent- it takes so much of the organizational hassle out of our billing and payouts.

Pros

It just takes everything off my plate. I don't have to write checks, it has free ACH transfers (for both sides), quickbooks integration, invoice cataloging, payment scheduling, and my favorite... being able to tie multiple company profiles under one admin account! As someone who owns a few \[very different\] small businesses with different teams, I can keep everything separate and organized, but all under the same login.

Cons

I wish there was some way to store W9's to a contractor's profile in . I don't even need to be able to file 1099s via Melio (although that would be awesome) but this tiny little organizational tool would be really helpful in staying compliant since no one else (like Quickbooks) has this.

They have been great to work with and support is super responsive

Pros

One thing I like about is a newly released feature that allows us to pay multiple invoices to one vendor by one payment. We often had to create individual payments to each vendor separately so now we can combine into one payment makes everyone's life easier.

Cons

We had issues of the preferred payment method of payment to vendors change without us making the change but that seems to be a resolved issue.

has been great. Looking forward to introducing it to and implementing it for more clients in the future.

Pros

The integration with QBO brings efficiencies that allows me to offer better A/P services to clients. The fact that it is free is also a big plus!

Cons

I wish that the QBO integration was different. I prefer to use from within QBO instead of uising the standalone product, because it's nice to access everything from one place, and because you can view the backup for payments using the "view online payment" button from right inside of QBO. When using the standalone product, the bill payment transaction syncs over just fine to QBO, but the backup has to be attached to the transaction manually. That would be fine if, from inside the melio standalone product, there was a better way to print the payment details to pdf or export the backup some other way. Trying to print to the payment activity to pdf from the web browser never works. The bottom of the details always get cut off.

Pros

One of the most valuable features of the Payments app is its ability to sync with Quickbooks. This saves time and money by eliminating the need for manual data entry and tracking.

Cons

No complaints. The overall visual and technical presentation of the app is pleasing.

Pros

Cons

There's not much I do not like about this product. I have been using it for a long time now. Many features have improved over that time period and continue to evolve.

It can be hard to find a trustworthy site to send money but we always felt safe with and they have great support to help at any time. Their rules and timing for sending money are simple so once you read those, everything is straightforward and you know exactly when your money will arrive / vice versa.

Pros

We needed to make a payment fast and were having some issues with our bank which required an in person appointment. Finding saved the day and we were able to process the payment quickly, safely, and very conveniently. The cost to use a credit card is the standard 2.9% fee which is invaluable when you want to leverage credit but are in a space where many companies only accept wire transfers.

Cons

I had a payment or two rejected before I knew that you could only select the "I have already received the goods" for my industry but other than that, I had a perfect experience with .
