### "Zero stars, if I could!"

I used this platform as a backup for payments. The problem... they were supposed to send me an email to tell me when a payment was due being processed and I never received one. There was absolutely nowhere that I could go to cancel the payment and trying to wait on hold through their chat was painful at best. I held on for nearly two hours and when I finally got a name of someone that could potentially help me, it was only so they could post that they were then unavailable to discuss anything. I've tried canceling the product, the service, and all the above and there's zero capability of doing so. This is THE worst payment platform that I have ever used! I just wanted them to right the wrong, but they have absolutely no interest in righting any wrongs on their part... it's really quite sickening. Now I get to explain to my client why they've just double-paid. You get what you pay for!

Pros

There's nothing I like about this platform.

Cons

Everything! Zero customer service, zero ability to do what needs to be done. When I actually got someone emailing me and I explained the problem, they told me to go back to their non-existent customer service.

It looked easy to use and a good backup until I had a more permanent platform... really bad mistake.

My overall experience has been great!

Pros

I love the ACH payments that we can make to vendors for free. It is super simple and easy! I also like it integrates with our accounting software, QuickBooks.

Cons

They recently raised prices on bill pay, which I understand, but has made us move away from them for bill pay items.

It was free option that allowed us to send ACH payments, which we really wanted to start doing.

Just stick to sending money. The invoicing systems are unnecessary, and make the product worse. Just be venmo for businesses.

Pros

It's easy to use and a cheap way to send payments.

Cons

Quickbooks integration was a nightmare when they rolled it out. I had been manually creating payments and bills in quickbooks, and all of a sudden I had duplicates of almost every transaction. I had to go through manually and delete and re-link everything.

Melio really helped my business when it came to payments, professionalism and making my small business just as accessable as a large corporation. It is great in helping building your brand as one of the "big wigs," even if you're not there yet!

Pros

Melio was very easy to implement with my business. Setup was incredibly simple.

Cons

As of now, Melio offers more features than my business really even needs. I'd say everything I do need is there in the platform and I love it all.

### "Love Melio for Large Orders!"

Pros

In our line of contracting, we purchase houses from the mainland. Melio allows us to pay large amounts of money through ACH. It saves us wire xfer costs.

Cons

Waiting for Business to Customer or SoleProp Sub-Contractors payments. Only B2B xfers allowed at this time. We need to pay individual subcontractors and refund clients at certain times and the ACH is the best way to accomplish this. Please enable this function so that we aren't limited to whom we send money to with your product. We also cannot have customers pay us through Melio... sometimes payments of over $100K for building are needed, and we have to send them to the bank to do a wire xfer. Please enable C2B payments.

### "The BEST FREE EVER!"

So far, it's a GREAT LIFE CHANGING TOOL! You get paid faster, and payments are easier for your clients to make. It's also very easy to send money to vendors

Pros

My favorite feature is that the end user pays the credit card fee

Cons

You cannot issue refunds when necessary. That part blows

### "Faulty System"

Customer service does not seem to provide accurate information as it pertains to when vendors payment will be deposited. Several calls has to be placed day after day to for the same payments. Their system seems to be faulty.

Pros

Web Interfact looks good and easy to use

Cons

We use Melio via Quickbooks for Accounts Payable. The system is faulty. Whenever payments are scheduled, they get stuck in the "Schedule" queue. There is no phone number to reach their support staff. Communication is done via a live chat. The customer service representatives assure payment was pushed only to find out days / weeks later the vendors still have not gotten paid. This has a negative impact on the health of our business.

Pros

I've been using Melio with most of my clients for a while. Excellent customer service. We use Melio to pay our vendors. It has been a really positive change in our business practices. It works so well with QuickBooks. Highly recommend!

Cons

No Phone support. Also, it does take a few days for payments but its industry standar.

### "It's a good low cost option for paying vendors and works for remote teams"

Pros

It eliminates paper checks. We also have a remote bookkeeping team so it lets them prep bills for us to approve easily.

Cons

Payees seem to be confused about onboarding with Melio, it works fine for paying smaller companies but for bigger entities the online onboarding seems to be a roadblock. Sometimes we have multiple emails and phone calls with their accounting people before they figure out what to do. Could make that way more streamlined.

### "Great Product for small business owners"

I've recommended Melio to all small business owners that I've met across the board and utilize it for all 5 of my own companies. This helps me so much in terms of organization and cash flow.

Pros

I love that I can control cash flow easily using Melio - it will remind me about when bills are due, I can easily see what I have outstanding, search for paid/unpaid invoices by vendor and plan out when my bills are best paid.

Cons

I would love to add an entry area to specify the difference between "delivery date" and "due date".

### "A time saver for all small businesses"

So far, any issues were an my side, and they corrected any problem in 24 hours.

Pros

Schedule payments in advance, so we are never late, user controls to allow the smaller bills paid that so not require my approval. Side benefit, saves on postage.

Cons

Nothing, much better than any banks bill pay.

Free Service, unless you use Credit Card, or need same day transfer, and even same day is cheaper than a Wire Fee

### "They Cancelled My Account "

Not dandy, not happy

I have no idea if I cannot use it, I cannot know

My client wanted to pay with a bank transfer, so I signed up for Melio. I set up the account, verify the deposit, all looked like it is working properly. Now my client signed the contract, I sent him a payment request, he paid and a day later I get notified that my account could not be verified and the payment won't go through. This is so embarrassing. Instead of them contacting me and request whatever proof they need, do this discreetly, and continue the process, they just kicked me off. I have no idea why. Why not at the time I signed up. Why am I verifying my bank account last week was not enough? It is a business account. This payment is business to business. My business has been around since 2011. I really don't know. Now I either have to find another payment method or somehow get this back working and ask my client again to pay. It is just not a reliable way for me to do business. They will wonder if I cannot even get their payment coming through what kind of service I will provide. That is a bad way to build trust with a new client. Thanks, Melio

### "Missing Payments and No Customer Service"

Numerous payments were never received by vendors. If payments are expediated they are supposed to be sent out via Fed-Ex yet they are unable to provide tracking information. The only way to contact them is via chat and there is no way to speak to anyone other than the rep you get. They will not escalate any issues

Pros

In the beginning, they were ok. It was a low cost option

Cons

Transaction dates import incorrectly. No way to track payments. Customer service is terrible. No phone support no way to escalate.

### "Good when it works, horrible when it does not"

good idea when it works, horrible when it is does not.

Pros

integrates well with QBO, pricing is great, easy to seup. When all work well is a good experience.

Cons

Horrible, almost non-existent customer support. TWICE, in just a few months of using Melio, they have sent out duplicate payments that were only entered once by me. First time they caught it and notified me a few days later, second time (a few days ago), vendors started calling me saying they got paid for an invoice that they had already been paid for 2 weeks ago. First time dinged my account for $60K, this time $26K. No explanation on what happened either time. Spent 2 days on Chat with no help whatsoever and promises to call me never happened. No phone number to call to talk with anyone, just have to email and wait many days for replies. No one seems at all concerned that I can't pay my bills dues to vendors since they took $26K out of my account or may bounce a lot of checks. There MUST be a number to call someone in emergency situations like this.

### "A Cut to the Chase Solution"

Customer service is second to none. You really get the sense that the people speaking to you care about the product and care about how you are using it. I've had several people reach out to me just to make sure everything was okay and that we were getting the most out of the product. The interface needs a little work to make it easier to use, feels a bit clunky at times, that and the other things listed above are some issues that need to be incorporated in but other than that we love using Melio for our needs.

Pros

Melio is a great product we recently had the opportunity to discover. I was very impressed at how easy it integrated to our accounting in Quickbooks. This is the main reason I found it so vital in our operation. Before we started using Melio there never really was a great solution for paying people by different means. We had some vendors who wanted printed checks and still others who preferred an electronic payment. Melio makes it easy for your company to pay people safely and quickly.

Cons

I have to say I really like the software so far but there are a couple of items I would really like to see and these items almost stopped me from deciding to use the product. First, the paper checks really need an overhaul to look more professional and branded from a specific company. I've had freelancers who wonder if the check is legitimate because it doesn't have our logo or they can't see that it's coming from us. Paper checks definitely need some work...also, the ability to run a simple payroll out of Melio wold be helpful so that you can eliminate printing checks in your office completely. It would be nice to be able to simply pay employees through Melio as well as freelancers. I know that there are work arounds, but we need a dedicated way to pay employees added.

### "Great for small businesses"

Pros

Melio makes invoice processing quick and efficient - I can upload an invoice and it'll automatically populate the information, or I can manually input an invoice and link it to an existing vendor. The free ACH option is great for small businesses and it's super helpful that Melio tells you when the money will be debited and when it will arrive so you can communicate dates to vendors. It also makes it easy to save payment details & information from vendors.

Cons

Wish it could scan more than just PDF invoices - sometimes we receive word docs & excel files.

### "Why use Melio with QuickBooks"

Pros

The built-in integration with QBO and QuickBooks Desktop allow easy flow from invoice entry to payment. The ability to schedule to send either ACH or Check within QuickBooks is critical to our workflow. If we don't have the ACH info the ability to request it securely from the vendor is great

Cons

No batch payment, the ability to pay more than one bill with a single payment would be a great addition. Also showing how credits are applied to a bill would be extremely helpful. We send a "bill & applied payments" to our vendors so they will know. Just an extra step that we would like to eliminate

Overall my experience with Melio has been a positive one. There were a couple times where I had an issue but I was able to resolve it fairly quickly.

Pros

I like that this software directly links with my QuickBooks account. Payments are very easy to be made and are made in a timely manner.

Cons

I don't like the new feature of how invoices are listed in the inbox. It should be listed in the order that I entered the bills and they are not.

### "I wish I could give a better review"

The software has developed a lot of bugs and customer support is severely lacking. I contacted support a month ago because I get an error message EVERY time I try to process a bill payment. If I log directly into Melio I can see that sometimes it has in fact gone through. Sometimes it does not and I have to initiate the payment directly from Melio. I manually mark the bill as paid in QBO and at some point the bill payment syncs so it looks like I have overpaid every invoice I process via Melio. I then have to go through each and figure out which payment is the correct one to remove from QBO. For smaller issues, I usually figure out a workaround before I ever hear back from support.

Pros

I like that is used to sync with Quickbooks

Pros

Melio integrating with QBO is the biggest plus for our accounting firm - it's easy to train our team how to use and the interface is consistent for every client.

Cons

It is glitchy when trying to add new clients and keeps old ghost bill data that isn't relevant even after it's been deleted.
