Calconic Reviews
Pros
This was the perfect solution to embed an ROI calculator on our landing page. IT was quite easy and intuitive to set up and the price is good.
I love love LOVE that I'm able to quickly grab the embed codes for things I need and transfer them right over to the back end of my blogs and websites.
Its the combination of very easy to use and very powerful. I like the lead-generation with e-mail notification and the smart configurator.
Easy embedding and very customisable. Customer support is great should you need it- fantastic value.
Cons
Your tech support person didn't seem to think this was a problem, he said that could be done by Zapier, however that introduces a further level of complexity, and potential problems and drop-outs.
However major issue above meant that I switched to Calculoid. If you can amend this problem, let me know.
Sometimes things can be finicky with the responsiveness and formatting. Always have to look at the mobile and tablet layouts to address calculators that move from L to R which is annoying.
When you build the form and then have to delete a field because you used the wrong function it throws off the order of the element numbering and then all the totalling fields have to be adjusted.

"Powerful tool that is pretty easy to use"
Overall: It was easy to create a stylish, custom calculator form - did so in 15 mins without any instructions.
Pros: - Simple user interface - Relatively straight-forward form creation - Easy to style forms directly within Calconic without any CSS code - Fairly reasonable pricing It's a really powerful tool ... I used the free trial and found a ton of value in it.
Cons: - I think the UX could be a little bit more user friendly when creating a form - there are a few finicky issues that don't seem intuitive. Nothing major though. - Would be nice to have guidance while creating your first form - navigational pop-ups to help you
"The one stop platform for calculator type forms"
Overall: It made want to have lots of calculators running to capture leads.
Pros: For every kind of calculator type form to capture leads you can imagine, you can build with calconinc. From simple quotes calculators to financial analysis you can find almost everythin on the template library and have your calculator running in minutes.
Cons: Only integrating with Zapier, it would be very useful have other integration options.
"Gets the job done"
Overall: They are helpful and have built a good starting product, but it needs more work to become more robust and user friendly.
Pros: It allows us to build the kinds of calculators we need without locking us into prebuilt templates we cannot alter.
Cons: The way you formulate how calculations are performed is not entirely intuitive, and you need to go back to support to learn how to use it. The knowledgebase isn't sufficient to make you a fully self-sufficient user.
"Great product!"
Overall: Great! I love my new calculator.
Pros: I was able to implement my 3 tier pricing structure which wasn't possible on other calculators.Though the conditional formulas was a bit complicated they helped me set it up.
Cons: The formulas are a bit complicated for non maths minded people though customer service was very helpful.
"Adding value to Tax Calculators"
Overall: "What is my corporate tax rate?" is a common question for a tax accountant, and seems easy enough, but comes with a response that starts with "it depends". Calconic has provided a way for any entity to go to our website and determine, within reason, what their Canadian corporate tax rate should be, whether they are a small business or large. At a minimum it has eliminated 95% of the "it depends" questions. For our entity, we strive to add value to our whole service offering, and Calconic has allowed us to appear on lead search engine pages for our calculators, due to the value of their product and what we could build with it.
Pros: The ability to add layers and multiple formulas was key to our pursuit of adding tools that would assist with capturing a corporate tax rate that could handle most, if not all of the Provincial intricacies. Building the tool, and layering in the necessary formula was as easy as clicking a few buttons. The ability to test the calculator before launch was also seamless and avoided posting a finished product with errors.
Cons: Once the time was taken to format the calculator, we realized that we needed to do the same for the mobile and tablet versions, and this process seemed unnecessarily repetitive. As our calculators are based on maintaining up to date tax rates, we need to update our content once or twice a year, and doing so for each version is a little tedious.
