I could not activate the purchase on a weekend and needed the functionality they promised for a report for Monday so I bought the monthly license guided by their support. Then when I finally got it to work it did not map properly. Garbage. Pros Nothing. There is nothing to like as I was not able to use it as promised. I am now trying to cancel and hopefully get a refund. Very difficult to talk to someone. Cons The fields do not map correctly. It does not do what they promise. Customer service was not helpful. Over the years they had to purchase a couple of upgrades because they changed computers (activating and licensing has always been tough). My customer uses the software twice a year to import data to QuickBooks. In late November 2023 they received a message saying their version would be discontinued at the end of the year (approx. 6 weeks away) and they could upgrade for free to the new version. The email was vague and never stated that the software would stop working and they thought it would be like when Microsoft discontinues a Windows version; it can still be used, but no support or updates will be provided. Then when they go to use the software in Feb 2024, it can't access the activation server. They have been shut down. So the perpetual license they purchased no longer works. I contacted support on behalf of my customer and requested that they honor the original free upgrade offer. They said they couldn't. I am extremely disappointed as the original email was sent in late November 2023 and by the end of January 2024 the old version was killed off, unable to use. As my customer only uses the software twice a year, they were caught out. Admittingly my customer should have paid more attention to the email, but the big disappointment here is the fact the old software was killed off so quickly with poor communication from Rightworks, and now my customer now has to buy it again. I will now be advising my other customers who use this software look at other programs as this situation should never happen. Pros Although somewhat clunky, it does what it says it does; i.e. import data to QuickBooks Cons Upgrade cost. All users are at high risk of the supplier discontinuing their product and blocking the software from accessing their activation server which instantly stops it from being able to be used. Pros We were able to import from our credit card transactions into QuickBooks. That saved us a tremendous amount of time. Cons Refunds or negative amounts need to be done separately because you can not import charges and credits at the same time. When we switched accounting software, Transaction Pro allowed us to export data from the old software to the new software so we could have the history and trends for reporting purposes. Pros Transaction Pro makes the process of importing data from one software to another very easy. Cons Formatting the data for imports can sometimes be difficult. Pros THis is one of very few software packages out there that allows you to interface to Intuit. Cons It took some learning to be able to use it effectively and the manual was not great. Credit memos and supplier credits are supported, which makes entering large batches of these types very quick and easy to do compared to manual entry. Pros This software is good for importing data types directly into QuickBooks Online that are not supported officially (items like vendor credits and sales credits). There is a very simple guide to follow that indicates what fields in the excel worksheet relate to the data entry fields within QuickBooks Cons The ability to remove certain fields which arent required from the excel import templates would be useful as currently they are just having to be left blank and the file doenst look as clean as it could do. Not a big deal though as we have worked out what fields are required and just assigned them a different colour. The software is unable to import sales/bills transactions to a balance sheet GL account. When attempting to do this the software creates a new expense account but does not give the user any notice that this has happened. We discovered this when compiling our company month-end reporting and items were in an unexpected place. This should be fixed as it could lead to a significant problem.
