Pros THis is one of very few software packages out there that allows you to interface to Intuit. Cons It took some learning to be able to use it effectively and the manual was not great. Reason for choosing Transaction Pro We couldn't find any alternative. Review Source JF Jack F. Finance Manager Financial Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Useful for data imports" July 19, 2022 5.0 This software has allowed us to import data into QuickBooks in a much quicker way than the regular import tools that Intuit provide. Credit memos and supplier credits are supported, which makes entering large batches of these types very quick and easy to do compared to manual entry. Pros This software is good for importing data types directly into QuickBooks Online that are not supported officially (items like vendor credits and sales credits). There is a very simple guide to follow that indicates what fields in the excel worksheet relate to the data entry fields within QuickBooks Cons The ability to remove certain fields which arent required from the excel import templates would be useful as currently they are just having to be left blank and the file doenst look as clean as it could do. Not a big deal though as we have worked out what fields are required and just assigned them a different colour. The software is unable to import sales/bills transactions to a balance sheet GL account. When attempting to do this the software creates a new expense account but does not give the user any notice that this has happened. We discovered this when compiling our company month-end reporting and items were in an unexpected place. This should be fixed as it could lead to a significant problem. I could not activate the purchase on a weekend and needed the functionality they promised for a report for Monday so I bought the monthly license guided by their support. Then when I finally got it to work it did not map properly. Garbage. Pros Nothing. There is nothing to like as I was not able to use it as promised. I am now trying to cancel and hopefully get a refund. Very difficult to talk to someone. Cons The fields do not map correctly. It does not do what they promise. Customer service was not helpful. The program is lightweight and saves time. Since Quick Books doesn't have this option natively, Transaction Pro is the best 3rd party solution. Pros Transaction Pro allows you to take spreadsheet data and bulk import it into Quick Books. It's features include using simple formulas to combine data from 2 cells into one line; adding items to inventory; and including tax information. Once the data map is created it takes only a few minutes to import sales etc. Transaction Pro also has a pretty extensive knowledge base for setup, and troubleshooting. Cons Transaction Pro requires a Quick Books user with near admin level access to work properly. The field mapping is very specific, if you change your import columns, you have to make a new map from scratch. By creating a spreadsheet template for all locations to use and set up the importer, one can then simply import the spreadsheets and transaction pro will read the data. There is some finagling to ensure you have the correct format ... seemingly across operating systems - windows to Mac there may be some discrepancy. Cons When upgrading to allow multiple users, additional users cannot access the app from the app list in quickbooks unless they are the initial owner of the app... so additional users have to sign in through intuit on the transaction pro website - unless possibly upgraded on Quickbooks? When you have thousands of transactions to enter and you work alone you quickly realize just what a great deal and HUGE help this program offers. I literally can enter transactions in a week versus months. As an ecommerce business owner, I am always looking for ways to save time. Work smarter, not harder! I, for one, hate paperwork and data entry. I would rather spend my time doing what I love - designing and making jewelry! I use the app for ALL data entry. Bills, Payments, Sales Receipts, Refund Receipts, Adding Customers, etc. With both low cost and ease of use you seriously can't go wrong with this app. I've used it several years in a row and will continue to do so! Pros With straightforward directions and spreadsheets, entering and importing all of my transactions into Quickbooks was extremely easy. Even if I made an error, whether in my addition on a line or if an item was not found in quickbooks, TI Pro alerted me, allowed me to correct it, and then import it without ever leaving the app. This is a huge time saver! Most apps make you correct YOUR spreadsheet on your computer, save, and then re-upload! Cons For me personally there were no cons in regard to the software. Pros The Quickbooks integration importer and exporter save my company 20+ hours every week. The accountants who use this love the fact that they don't have to do hundreds of manual entries and can import an excel file. Cons It's not very intuitive, the training (which you have to pay for) is helpful but not all inclusive. It would be nice to have youtube videos to walk through each import step by step. Not once was the situation escalated to higher tier support. $129 and we can't even refund the non functioning product. We're currently looking for another solution. We know that there are many other benefits that we just have not had the chance of exploring yet, such as using it for payroll entries. Pros We use the software to import mass journal entries from a Concur data dump into Quickbooks. This process used to be agonizingly painful and now it takes no time at all. Using Transaction Pro has streamlined this process and saved us hours upon hours. The service team is always friendly, quick to reply and makes sure your problems are solved. Cons The software, while simple, can seem a little archaic at times and we had some difficulties when a new employee would start. When the business had to show more detail on each invoice and create 700-900 total line items per week, manually creating each invoice would have been impossible. We were able to enter a batch of 400 checks very quickly and with minimal fuss. Cons Not all fields are available but for the most part it has always been quite helpful. They asked us the same question multiple times through email even though we gave a detailed answer every time and they made the same suggestion multiple times through email even though we gave detailed responses including screenshots as to why that suggestion doesn’t work. We haven’t even been able to retrieve data once from QuickBooks with this application. Pros We can’t even get through set up. The application isn’t working properly. We get constant error messages and QuickBooks crashes and Transaction Pro refuses to call us or diagnose the issue. Cons Transaction Pro refuses to call us. They told me we have to pay extra for phone support. I’m not paying extra when I haven’t even seen that this program can do its most basic job. Difficulty to apply software to our cloud based environment and allowing all needed users. On an ongoing basis, we use the software every month to import data from an Association tracking system into QuickBooks Online to capture the A/R side of the organization. It is a time saver and money saver. Pros I like most that you can import just about anything to QuickBooks online using Transaction Pro. The ease of uploading a file and the straight forward formatting helps guide the necessary formatting for upload. Cons If I had to pick a Con it would be the price and the inability to use a subscription across multiple files. Our firm has two current subscriptions, but at one point had five active. I have been using this product for less than a month and it does NOT do what it claims. I have tried to get help from the customer service department but it's a minimum of 48 hours before a response - and they don't understand or know how to help. The only pro is that it's cheap - but because it's cheap I should have realized it wouldn't work before I purchased it. Pros Honestly, I bought this software with high hopes that it would stream line a lot of data entry that is currently done at my job. Cons It would not do what it promised. I have 30,000 items in Quickbooks enterprise and it couldn't export anything, it couldn't import POs, or items with new prices. The software would get bogged down and stop working.
