### "Software is OK, activation, licensing and ongoing support is poor"

My customer starting using Transaction Importer in 2010. Over the years they had to purchase a couple of upgrades because they changed computers (activating and licensing has always been tough). My customer uses the software twice a year to import data to QuickBooks. In late November 2023 they received a message saying their version would be discontinued at the end of the year (approx. 6 weeks away) and they could upgrade for free to the new version. The email was vague and never stated that the software would stop working and they thought it would be like when Microsoft discontinues a Windows version; it can still be used, but no support or updates will be provided. Then when they go to use the software in Feb 2024, it can't access the activation server. They have been shut down. So the perpetual license they purchased no longer works. I contacted support on behalf of my customer and requested that they honor the original free upgrade offer. They said they couldn't. I am extremely disappointed as the original email was sent in late November 2023 and by the end of January 2024 the old version was killed off, unable to use. As my customer only uses the software twice a year, they were caught out. Admittingly my customer should have paid more attention to the email, but the big disappointment here is the fact the old software was killed off so quickly with poor communication from Rightworks, and now my customer now has to buy it again. I will now be advising my other customers who use this software look at other programs as this situation should never happen.

Pros

Although somewhat clunky, it does what it says it does; i.e. import data to QuickBooks

Cons

Upgrade cost. All users are at high risk of the supplier discontinuing their product and blocking the software from accessing their activation server which instantly stops it from being able to be used.

Overall, we've had a great experience with Transaction Pro. When we switched accounting software, Transaction Pro allowed us to export data from the old software to the new software so we could have the history and trends for reporting purposes.

Pros

Transaction Pro makes the process of importing data from one software to another very easy.

Cons

Formatting the data for imports can sometimes be difficult.

Overall, this is a great product and I would highly recommend it.

Pros

We use a customized inventory control and oil reclamation software called E.A.S.E. and TPI allows us to import all of our financial data directly into Quickbooks. It was easy to install and set up. Customer support is great!

Cons

I keep having an issue with the product deactivating so I have to go in several times a week and reactivate the subscription. Sometimes this will occur multiple times within a day, sometimes it only happens every few days. When I reported this to TPI, I was told that it originally occurred due to a virus that hit their system but they had discovered the cause and it was being fixed. Like with most things in IT, technology is great... until it isn't.

This may be unique to me; I freelance and manage the Finance section alone. Hence with TPI, I am able to close the books on time and minimize errors with peace of mind. In 2015, when an upgrade was required for QuickBooks; 7 years of confidential partial data had to be moved from the AP to the Employees Section; Needed to use the Pro Exporter, then the deleter, then the Importer. Learnt of TPI then, and the project was successful; am very grateful to TPI ever since. At times, when I do run into problems while importing/exporting it's ALWAYS my error; usually due to a careless non-conformity in the templates etc; once the fields match, TPI is spot on in importing the data. Thank you very much; "T"ruly a "P"eace of "I"nspiration! :)

Pros

With TPI, basic data entry is completed in a very short period of time. This allows for more quality time for review work. Am very grateful to the genius and inspiration that came from the team that designed this software. I have also received fast and helpful support when I needed guidance.

Cons

Honestly, None!

Pros

The Transaction Pro Importer has helped us increase the efficiency of our staff incredibly. If we did not have it to use to import: Estimates, Purchase Orders and Pricing updates, I would need more staff to accomplish what I'm able to do with the number of staff we have now if it weren't for this product. It also keeps us from having too many people modifying a document, which has helped reduced our mistakes making us more accurate.

Cons

There is nothing I like least, so if I were to have a suggestion it would be a way to figure out who has which user on which computer. Bernadette in customer service has been extremely helpful with helping us figure it out, so that's been GREAT!

I can't recommend this enough. I tell everyone I know that uses Quickbooks Online and if I do anyone's books for them, I make it mandatory that they subscribe to this tool. For my business, I simply could not get it done without this. When I purchase goods for resale, I will often have several dozen or even a hundred or more invoices per day from my distributor. Being able to simply import them from Excel saves me hours of time per day. I also used to let Authorize.net import my sales into Quickbooks, but it was clunky and didn't provide the details I wanted. Now I can import them this way and it is so much better.

Pros

It is super simple to use and has a lot of different options to accomplish your tasks.

Cons

A little slow on importing bills, but probably because it checks for duplicates.

### "Very Useful"

We at Castor Really enjoy the TPI. It is extremely helpful and useful for our billing function of our company. We have implemented it at our sister company and we are still working out glitches that we find with it being transported to Quickbooks (Categorization and Sales tax and Net Terms) But would recommend to anyone looking to save time on billing.

Pros

It exports all tickets with data of items to our online Quickbooks file.

Cons

When a glitch comes up, having to pay or have problem resolved causes our billing to fall behind for a whole week or more. I wish the customer service was free, as I had very small problems that could have been fixed within a minute phone call.

### "Importing Invoices Functionality Needs Improvement"

When we used to import invoices, they'd auto populate the billing/shipping address with the customers info. We need this for sales tax purposes. Also, when we mark "taxable" on the import template, it doesn't register in QB, so we have to manually copy the billing address to the shipping address and then click on taxes to make the invoice show the correct sales tax amount. It's a lot of extra work and it's not scalable. When we get to higher volume or when we find a better solution, we'll have to switch away from transaction pro. I also don't like that i have to open a new browser in incognito mode for the app to work.

Pros

Importing transactions into QB, a different template for different transactions. fairly intuitive to use.

Cons

Not all fields are in the transactions are included on the template. Lots of functionality issues. have to open an incognito chrome window to use it while I have QB open.

### "Transaction Pro Has Decreased Work Time Exponentially"

The accounting team has 35 books for entities that we manage. Each entity is very complicated and requires enormous amounts of journal entries to be uploaded from a third party property manager. Prior to Transaction Pro, we were closing the books in 45 days. Now we do it in under 5 days.

Pros

Our company uses QuickBooks and this software works seamlessly to upload volumes of journal entries, bills, and invoices to our system in minutes, thus reducing labor hours and data entry errors.

Cons

It takes some time to get the spreadsheets set up properly to work with Transaction Pro. There is no live customer support to help you with this, only a forum. It is trial and error to get the process working and the error messages are difficult to understand.

It is a extremely helpful tool for our business. We track all our orders via Excel and to transfer the data from Excel to QuickBooks for invoicing purposes, the system works great!

Pros

We have had the opportunity to use the software for many years. Once set up, the daily use is very easy and reliable.

Cons

Although the system is great, it takes a little bit of time and effort to create the required "mapping" to use the software.

Our business doubled it's sales within a few months. Before that, a large portion of my day was set aside for manual data entry. When the amount of transactions became too much to enter manually, we came across Transaction pro. We are now importing thousands of transactions a month in a fraction of the time. I cannot imagine working in QuickBooks with out it.

Pros

The initial setup was surprisingly easy and their customer support is responsive, friendly and thorough. This software has saved us countless hours of manual data entry.

Cons

The user interface can be a little ambiguous. There are certain fields in the wizard that may not apply to your upload but are required.

The company does not have its POS system integrated with QBO and this allows for a seemless entry into QBO.

Pros

It encompasses everything that I need to utilize and works seemlessly with Quickbooks Online. I use a majority of functions as there are a very high number of transactions to process and this saves significant time.

Cons

I would like the ability to use the App across all companies opposed to just a QBO entity.

Reason for choosing Transaction Pro

I researched the product thoroughly to ensure it could handle the mass number of transactions and different transaction types before making decision to adopt

Pros

Very good software to import all transactions into QuickBooks. All transaction fields are very professionally setup to upload in related General Ledger Account of QuickBooks. System has an option of saving QB imported transactions into excel format. This option is also excellent to keep records.

Cons

None. This software is very helping and accurate to import the transactions of each General Ledger code into QuickBooks.

Pros

Having Transaction Pro Importer/Exporter connecting to our Quickbooks software saves us so much time between importing various items. Having the option to upload check information or pull in journal entries with hundreds of lines directly from Excel helps speed up the process of our month end close. There are so many other options for importing to Quickbooks so I'm sure we've just scratched the surface to improving our efficiencies in our organization.

Cons

When there are errors with the imports the description of the error can be vague or difficult to figure out what the actual issue is.

Good Program but we buy for one time software and every day need to take approve for there server to open the program . some times there servers stalled during the reboot sequence, causing TPro Desktop Licenses to not activate , so ...... you can not finish your job

Pros

I like most because it was a Value For money

Problem with Validating . Desktop Licenses to not activate

### "Does what it says it does"

We had a few struggles in the beginning getting it set up between Transaction Pro's customer service and the credit card company we were able to get it to work.

Pros

We were able to import from our credit card transactions into QuickBooks. That saved us a tremendous amount of time.

Cons

Refunds or negative amounts need to be done separately because you can not import charges and credits at the same time.

Error message are not specific enough, so it takes some time to figure out what is wrong with the transaction you are try to import.

I've been using this software for over 5 years and it has saved me hours of data entry time. I recently purchased the software for use in another company I work for.

Pros

It takes away the mundane process of entering almost identical invoices, bills, sales receipts by allowing batch imports. Once the import fields are set up they are ready whenever you need them.

Cons

Occasionally I have issues figuring out what failed in an upload. Most often the failure is caused by user error in cleaning up the data. Do not use $ signs in the amount fields...I keep forgetting that one.

On-board a client with 2 years of transactions. It was easier to assign categories in excel and then load the data.

Pros

Being able to take the data from various sources, combine together and then build an import into quickbooks.

Cons

Support is via email, while they are quick to reply, communication the issues and getting direction is tough. The Q&A's not always that helpful.

### "Reliable and easy to use"

We no longer have to duplicate work done in our database to our accounting package. We are confident that what is in our database is the same as what is in our accounts.

Pros

It is very user friendly and saves me a lot of time being able to import from our database in to Quickbooks, which I do at least twice a week. I like the fact that you can view your batch before importing to check again for accuracy on your previous processing.

Cons

There's nothing that I've found I don't like about Transaction Pro!

It has been great to automate the loading of data into Quickbooks!

Pros

Since I am a software developer, Transaction Pro allowed me more fine-grained control over data in QuickBooks that I am used to. It has also been critical in my weekly importing of time tracking and employee data from 2 other legacy systems.

Cons

Getting it set up the first time, some of the error messages were not detailed enough. Would like a little more flexibility added into the time tracking import since I have multiple employees being paid different rates for different jobs and other specialized time issues.

Reason for choosing Transaction Pro

My CPA recommended it highly.

Pros

The ease of use for importing and exporting. The template set up is very easy to understand.

Cons

We have multiple Quickbooks online companies. I wish there was a slightly easier way to switch between accounts.
