As a result, students receive more personalised learning opportunities and are better prepared for their assessments. Pros Vevox is a fantastic audience engagement platform that I have found to be simple, and intuitive to use. Its PowerPoint integration is reliable and works exceptionally well. I particularly appreciate that it avoids unnecessary aesthetic design features that could slow down performance, especially when running PowerPoint presentations with embedded Vevox quiz slides while screen sharing or recording. I use Vevox regularly for knowledge-check quizzes at the end of lectures and for revision sessions before student exams. The platform enables students to self-assess their understanding while also allowing me to identify common areas of confusion and address them in real time. I primarily use the multiple-choice and word cloud features, as these closely mirror the question formats students will encounter in their assessments, helping them prepare more effectively. I am looking forward to exploring additional features, such as the demographics tool and AI features, which I have not yet used. Cons While my overall experience has been very positive, I would appreciate greater control over the default slide layout. Pros I like the fact we can use this resource with a large audience. The quiz we host on the site has up to 1000 teams and not many sites can accommodate this without great additional cost. Cons It would be good if for the quiz aspect there was a wider range of question types, and if a quiz could be operated at your own pace. It’s simple to deploy, encourages participation, and adds tangible value to sessions. Pros Vevox is extremely easy to use and intuitive for both presenters and participants. It makes live sessions more interactive through polls, Q&A, and word clouds, helping to drive engagement and gather real-time feedback without disrupting the flow of a meeting or event. Cons While Vevox is generally reliable, some of the more advanced features and reporting options can feel limited or less flexible than expected. It can also take a bit of time to fully understand how to maximise its capabilities for more complex use cases. It is a practical, stable, and user-friendly platform that adds real value to lectures, meetings, and educational sessions. Despite the timing limitation, I would recommend Vevox to educators, speakers, and professionals who want to improve audience engagement. Pros What I like most in Vevox is how easy it is to make presentations more interactive. The live polling, Q&A, and real-time feedback features are intuitive and reliable. The platform helps increase participation and creates a more dynamic experience for the audience. Cons The main limitation I noticed is the lack of an option to manually start the countdown timer for a question. When a question appears in PowerPoint, the timer starts immediately. This can be inconvenient because the audience may not have enough time to read the question and the answer options before the countdown begins. It strengthens the teacher-student relationship by improving feedback and progression visibility. It allows me to package educational tasks attractively and use mobile technology productively, making it versatile and enjoyable. Highly recommend. Pros I like that Vevox is more of a superpower than just a pedagogical tool. It enables fast-paced and specific educational tasks to be attractively packaged and shared with students. It's versatile, enjoyable, and allows me to hear all my students, responding to each by capturing their individual work. Vevox enables students to provide their best work without anxiety, while also letting me show them how to improve further. This strengthens the teacher-student relationship and quickens the pace of progression, making it visible immediately to the students. I also appreciate how it allows the new AI generations to use mobile technology productively in user-friendly ways. The setup of Vevox was very easy, and using it alongside Quizlet connected to Moodle works well. Paying for a Vevox account was the best choice I've made after being unhappy with Moodle as the only institutional platform. Cons The improvement that would help in these contexts is the data download. Everything arrives in spreadsheets which is great for viewing and thinking, but not so great for using. In other words, I would present to a whole group all their work (anonymised) with comments and feedback. They all learn from each other as well as me. I learn from them.
