Pros I tried several audience response tools before I found Vevox, and I am eternally grateful to the person who recommended Vevox to me. I think that Vevox is by far the best platform for the following reasons: Major pros: - versatility of questions you can ask (for instance, I wanted the audience to guess a number on a scale from 0 to 1 with 2 decimal places and display a histogram of the guesses along with an average guess- I can tell you that no other platform was capable of anything close to this) - plugin for PowerPoint works like a charm- (you do not need to upload your presentation to some Vevox online platform and display it from there, instead, Vevox plugs into your PowerPoint and you can add the questions between your slides. This is really important because the way your slides work outside PowerPoint is not uniform and some features like animations may not work in and online environment, some formatting may not be the same, etc.) Minor pros: - ease of audience connection to the platform (there is the QR code and then there is the web address where a session ID can be entered) - even the free version has more features and works better than the free versions of other platforms - great customer support Cons For the results to be displayed properly you need to have a Vevox Plugin installed on the PowerPoint that your presentation is being played from. If you are presenting at a conference, this means that you need to check with the organizer of the conference that they install Vevox upfront or ask that you display the presentation from your own laptop where you have Vevox Plugin installed. You also need to be connected to the internet (obviously). These are not "cons" in a true sense, because there is really no way in which an audience response tool can function without being connected to the internet, but mere warnings to novice users. I recently had a meeting with Amie from Vevox, who shared a number of practical tips and new ways to maximise the features, so I’m now more confident and excited to use it more extensively in my teaching. The tool has strong potential to enhance interaction and real-time feedback in the classroom. Pros Vevox is very easy to use, both in the browser and when integrating into PowerPoint. I particularly like the word cloud, polls, and ranking question formats — these make it quick to gather students’ thoughts and see common themes emerging in real time. It’s extremely helpful for capturing general ideas from students and encouraging participation, especially in larger classes. The platform is intuitive and requires very little setup time. Cons If I had to point out one drawback, it would be the interface. The visuals feel slightly grey, plain, and cold. A more vibrant or customisable theme would make the experience more engaging visually for students. As mentioned earlier, if a simplified / kahoot! styled 'mode' was added, i think this would appeal to more events and younger audiences. Pros One of my favourite features is its integration with PowerPoint. Another point would be the aesthetic of the app is very professional The app itself is also very usable Cons I personally have always felt it lacks the certain engagement power of services such as kahoot!, which i know is more of a game styled polling service, but for simpler purposes, this would be favoured for a lot of people i know due to its simplicity and engagement. So easy to use even a small company with no IT budget can use and afford. " September 26, 2025 5.0 Will definitely be using Vevox for all of our events both online and in-person. Highly recommend this product, it was intuitive, didn't require a background in IT, was able to easily get my team involved to use the product to support during the event. They made it easy to focus on the things that required my attention rather than troubleshooting my audience experience. They made it so that a community can get involved directly and get information that was vital for them. Highly recommend. Pros Customer service was fantastic and worked with my schedule. Intuitive design and application, the user experience was better than expected. Used Vevox to have a live audience Q&A, loved the ability to moderate and publish questions live, zero delays or hiccups- audience loved the experience and had zero trouble using it. Especially appreciated the ability to have the audience submit questions anonymously which created a higher degree of audience engagement, in fact, our experience netted a 75% audience engagement outcome through Vevox. Cons I don't have any cons. I would have liked to have a way to display our content through the application so that we didn't have to switch screens or build that transition period into our event (was held on a college campus). I am sure there is a way to integrate something like that already, it just wasn't readily apparent. Having said that, we are a small organization with no formal IT department and still had a great experience using Vevox. I also find it very effective for setting the scene in introduction lectures, thanks to its word cloud tool. This tool helps gauge students' perceptions or understandings of a particular topic. Additionally, the multiple-choice quizzes are great for recapping or ensuring student understanding, working well both during and at the end of a lecture. The Customer Support team are easy to contact and very responsive. I see features in the product that I submitted as feature requests. Our engagement from staff has exceeded all expectations, which I think says it all. Pros Vevox's intuitiveness and flexibility has made onboarding staff a breeze. We don't get a lot of support requests about Vevox, and students like the interactive sessions they are taking part in. Cons The only real negative is that the PowerPoint integration lags behind the dashboard for new features, which can occasionally cause confusion, and we have had a few issues with the integration that are at the Microsoft 365 end but end users perceive as Vevox not working as they expect. " October 25, 2025 5.0 Brilliant - it did exactly what we needed and has a great user interface. We'd loved to have used more of the features as we only scratched the surface, but for our recent event it did everything we wanted and did it perfectly. Pros We used Vevox for an event at the Royal Geographical Society in London, with both in-person and online audiences, and it worked flawlessly. The interactive Q&A was exactly what we needed — attendees could simply scan a QR code to join, and the moderation tools made it easy to manage which questions appeared on screen. We really liked that moderation could be delegated to others, and that we could spotlight and control content from a secondary device, meaning I didn’t have to be up in the AV suite during the event. The ability to customise what was shown on participant devices and on the main screen gave us a fully branded experience that looked fantastic. Everything ran smoothly and reliably — we’d highly recommend Vevox for any hybrid or live event needing seamless audience engagement. Cons There wasn't anything we disliked - we used this product for our event as we needed a solution that gave live, interactive Q&A that could be accessed by in person and online attendees with the ability to spotlight specific questions. The support whenever needed from (\[sensitive content hidden\] has been prompt and excellent. Video tutorials of "How to do it" provided by them have been very beneficial as well. Pros Vevox is very easy to use and setup polls, surveys or quizzes. It gives the creator full control with no additional external resources needed. Cons Though it has many usefull functionalities, improvement or added funtionality is needed for the following: 1. Print - User needs to be able to print their own responses to a survey or a poll. 2. Auto Save functionality. When a user is responding to a quiz, poll or survey, the users responses to a question needs to be auto saved. This is to prevent loss of work done, in the event of internet dropping off, power failure or if the user wants to move away and come back to it later. Additional webinars or trainings would always be helpful as I am a hands on learner over reading help center articles. Pros I love the ability to reach a large audience at scale, and make learning fun! As an admin, the interface is extremely easy to use and the creation of quizzes is simple. It doesn't take a ton of training to understand and things can be set up extremely quickly, which helped us pivot when we had to move our event from in person to virtual. Cons At the time we had to use it, there was not a Google Slide integration. I would say this was the biggest challenge we had but now that this is live, we will need to test it and see how it works for us. One other thing is it would be nice to create one long session but still break up leader boards for specific topics in that section. This is easiest for admin and users so they don't need to continue to log in and out of sessions for Vevox and everything can be in one session but still accurate data. I know ,y colleagues all consider using Vevox further when we get to think about implementing the events when they're introduced. Pros The anonymous surveys and polls - we no longer have access to Teams polls features and I think it makes a real difference when people can contribute online in this way. Cons It's sometimes a little difficult to get people to use it and participate but not a result of the Vevox platform of course. Digital Skills Advisor Education Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Vevox engagement" February 25, 2025 4.0 Overall I am pleased with the Vevox product as it has enhanced my sessions - I have always enjoyed technology enhanced tools and Vevox has to be one of the best I have used. I have attended some of the webinars with the latest features, which I have found useful. I like the addition of the AI assistant with the prompts to support if needed. I hope Vevox keeps coming up with new innovative ideas. Just a thought following a session - it would be good if you could use the text feature to come up with scenarios but then get the participants to compartamentalise the answers and put them into various headings such as student A and student B. Thank you for a well-thought out and improved product. I am enjoying using it myself but also training others to utilise the features that Vevox can offer. Pros I like the ability to connect Vevox with PowerPoint and run the polls in slideshow mode. I also enjoy having the word cloud now display real time results for the participants and facilitator of the session. Its an engaging tool that allows a high level of interaction. Cons The pin on image I find quite confusing so didnt really work for me when presenting. I am also not keen on having two slides in the Powerpoint add in - I think it would be better with just one. Then you could ask more questions without the barrier of having double the slides. Sometimes the slides dont display correctly so I need to move the placeholders around to ensure professionalism and readability. Review Source TR Tim R. The PowerPoint integration has been a really useful feature for the majority of our use cases. Pros The option to easily share moderation of the Q&A is great. And to be able to scan a QR code for a chairperson link is really useful. Cons An option for breakouts within the same event code would be great to keep it simple for attendees logging in. I recently attended some training to see what had changed in the latest update and I am very impressed with some of the new tools. \[sensitive content hidden\], who led the training, was so thorough and gave a great overview of the various ways in which Vevox can be used. Pros I use Vevox a lot in my teaching and find it an invaluable tool for engaging those students who may be reluctant to speak out in class. It is simple to set up and can be used for a number of useful purposes in a lecture such as polling students to check their understanding, running live quizzes to reinforce key concepts, gathering anonymous feedback to encourage honest responses, and hosting interactive Q&A sessions that allow all students to participate without worrying about what others will think of their questions.
