She replied within an hour despite being six hours ahead of me, identifying useful help guides and offering a videoconference to look at my problem in real time. On our call, she showed me what I was doing wrong and quickly got me back on track. I am happy with the Vevox product, and delighted with the exceptional customer service. August 21, 2024 5.0 Even though I don't have any experience with platforms like Vevox, everything turned out amazing. Pros First of all, Vevox is really user friendly. You can be a first timer like me, but still make a project that everyone will be amazed with. Second, the high level customer service will make your experience even easier and more enjoyable than it could be! Third, even the free plan allows you to create a presentable project in which up to 150 persons could participate, which, let me admit, allows greater opportunities than any of its competitors. But I would still recommend upscaling your plan to have greater creative freedom! Cons It does not have any obvious drawbacks like other platforms similar to it do. We had checked into nearly all the other similar platform services and Vevox customer service surpassed them all. The Vevox platform itself is extremely user-friendly for the tech-inexperienced; lots of options and capability; have used/looked at other similar platforms and Vevox has so much to offer at very affordable pricing. It's customization is extremely beneficial. I would highly recommend Vevox for any groups or settings wanting to create crowd engagement in a live setting. Pros We love the customization & 'live results' features of Vevox; these have been fun & engaging in our Sunday services and have really allowed the congregation to contribute in an active way during the message (ie: through polls, surveys, etc); we often incorporate the survey & poll information into the sermon. The platform is also extremely easy to use for Q&A sessions; people love being able to 'rate' questions in terms of priority, etc. The over-all set-up is so easy; customizable graphics to coordinate with a specific event's theme is another bonus. Also love the ability to save previous polls, surveys, etc, to use again. Cons Not being able to have 2 surveys or polls running at the same time was a bit problematic but it might be the minimum plan we are signed up for. This was also an easy work-around. Reason for choosing Vevox Cost was very much a factor; we are a non-profit and limited budget; the price was right for us. Pros Ease of use was our initial key criteria, for both staff and students. Vevox initially had a fairly limited feature set but it included the key polling types and a good Q&A feature, and also had a good PowerPoint add-in which helped our institutional transition from the previous system (Turning Point). Vevox continue to actively engage with their customer base to develop new features, and now has a really good range of question types - while still retaining that ease of use which attracted us in the first place. all other aspects of the system also continue to be developed - for example the admin dashboard is now a thing of beauty, and the web-based Present View is truly excellent. Cons The PowerPoint add-in is not reliable on our specific institutional classroom computers. Reasons include the software being virtualised, incompatibilities with our lecture capture system, and (often) user error. Its much smoother if you just plug in your laptop with it fully installed and ready to go, but even then it doesn't/can't support the newer question types. I understand a new plug-in is in beta which will hopefully overcome all of these issues. Reason for choosing Vevox They are all excellent systems, but the exegiencies of the pandemic meant we stayed with Vevox as we had already been piloting it and a change would have been yet another thing that our teaching staff really didn't need at that point. June 9, 2023 4.0 From the point of customer service, Vevox has one of the most hard-working and responsive teams I have ever encountered. Fraser and the team have worked tirelessly to solve any issues that I have actually reported. As a customer the fact that I do not dread and actually find enjoyable the interaction with the support team counts a lot. I also love the events that Vevox hosts, these are perfect opportunities to engage in communication and feedback between customers and learn of new ways to use the tool. Vevox has proven to be a great ecosystem for feedback and e-learning used on various groups from students to industry trainers! Pros I love the integration with PowerPoint and the fact that I can get nearly instantaneous reporting results. It is a great tool for feedback and interactivity within delivery as it allows more interaction between the audience and those delivering the content. Cons The fact that one cannot run multiple sessions in parallel, also the fact that in order to get the data (graphs and text-based comments) from the dashboard you have to run the session. There are issues with PowerPoint and you have to be an organiser on Teams to be able to integrate the application within the meeting invite. Review Source HM Halyna M. Easy and fast to create a quiz or a survey, and easy to start/manage in the classroom. Allows time to stop and discuss the issues with the class, as the responses are anonymous (even if the emails are collected, they are not shown on the screen, so , it makes it possible to discuss the answers as a classroom peer-review but anonymous activity, which is excellent for shy students). Secondly, you can create a quick AI generated quiz in a short break, or integrate an AI generated quiz into your quiz. Several features you can combine or select from depending on the purpose: word cloud, multiple choice, open space/text. Many participants are allowed simultaneously. Cons AI quiz is predictable. The correct answer is always fist. Often it is also the longest, therefore, it is very easy to guess it. Students understand the 1st one is correct after the 2nd/3rd question. Also, AI quiz is limited to 5 questions. Pros That it can be accessed with one button by session attendees in MicroSoft Teams meetings. Cons Setting things up in Microsoft Teams still feels very cumbersome and somewhat confusing to me. I don't use it often enough to have really grasped it, and each time I use it, I am doing more with it than the previous time. Thus, my comment in the title of my review. My success in using the tool is 100% due to the hands on, live person, support I have received, as well as the emails that come out every few weeks with tools, tips and checking in. Well done! Assistant Professor Higher Education Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Vevox does what you need for a better price" November 21, 2022 5.0 I use Vevox to assess student learning outcomes in University classes. Pros Vevox is just the right mix of features and value. It isn't the do-everything Poll Everywhere, but it definitely isn't bare-bones, and I find that the pricing makes it a much better value than more expensive options. There are many options for polling question types and I find many of them useful. For my senior level undergraduate classes it helps me quickly assess learning outcomes as well as keep students engaged. The branding features are great and make the product almost look like a white label solution with our university graphics and colors integrated into every poll. Vevox staff are also highly responsive when I have questions or need help with the product, and the development team is clearly still adding features to improve the product. This gives me assurance that the product will be supported for a long time to come, which is important when I invest time into a new software product. Cons Sometimes the polling sessions for students would disconnect, but I have a feeling this was on the user end as they were often using smartphones. It was easy enough for them to reconnect and join the session. Easy to edit questions. Easy to retrieve data (if you have a paid membership). Pros A useful tool for managing classroom attendance and participation and for assessing student learning in the moment. It's also great that there are no additional costs imposed on the students. Cons I wish there was a PowerPoint extension that worked with Mac products. That you now have to get the paid version in order to access the polling data (which is what you need if you are using this to track attendance and participation for your classes). Business Owner Professional Training & Coaching Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "More than 5 stars really - this tool/company is exceptional" February 18, 2021 5.0 My biggest concern transitioning in my business (I'm a solopreneur) to primarily virtual speaking, training, and meeting facilitation like I did in 2020 is losing audience engagement, or not being able to easily check engagement as it's happening... or after/before - Vevox solves this. They also make set-up /learning about their tools digestible and succinct, but thorough (also, often have the option of video or text). As I learn about a new feature or a tool I haven't used or something, I appreciate this. Pros I love the polls with word cloud, the most - I'm a speaker and audiences LOVE this - as do I. It's fun, easy to run, works well, and dramatically increases engagement. Plus the set-up makes it so that anybody can easily engage (they just click the meeting link and that's it). Cons I haven't yet found anything I don't like tool-wise - the only thing that went wrong was my first attempt at integrating with PowerPoint didn't work. I was presenting and tried to do a word cloud poll inside my PP and it didn't work, was pretty embarrassing and confused my audience too. After the meeting, I reached out to my Vevox customer service rep about it because I wasn't sure what happened (spoiler alert - user error!). Anyway, he responded with what likely could have happened (he was right) - but then went a step further and asked if I wanted to talk more about it. And then met 1:1 with me. We walked through what happened, how it happened - and what I needed to do instead, such above and beyond help. Reason for choosing Vevox I chose Vevox really for three reasons, initially. Their tools and training on said tools seemed intuitive and well-designed. Then, they had competitive pricing (including a free robust account, that gave me a much better idea of usability and functionality). The third is their customer service. When I signed up just to try the free account and learn this, a day or two later I got an email asking if it would be helpful to meet with one of their sales reps to learn the ropes a bit quicker with some help. Something about that email struck me as authentic (sometimes that kind of communication doesn't seem personal really, or rubs me the wrong way, but not this). So I said yes, and that was the final piece. My sales rep spent half an hour or so with me answering questions and showing me a few things. He listened closely to what my needs were and how I thought I'd use it, and then was able to personalize really what was helpful for me as I got started. And he never pushed me, he did cover the pricing / levels etc but not in a forceful way, at the end. That was HUGE for me, saved me time I'd have to spend learning on my own a completely new tool. I recommend Vevox all the time for the tools obviously, but also the customer service is definitely 5/5, more like 9/5.
