I abhor ConexEd and so does every single one of my colleages at City College of San Francisco with whom I've spoken about it. For me, there is literally nothing positive about this appointment system. It is complicated, ugly, disorganized, and takes so much extra time and takes control away from counselors.

Pros

We were led to believe it was an advantage to be able to schedule various appointment lengths for students (for example, 20 or 25 minutes instead of 30 or 60 only). I guess this is good except that it causes a ton of chaos. I don't think there's actually anything I liked about CONEXED.

Cons

There are soooo many things I dislike: 1) ugly, disorganized, difficult to read screen that makes it a challenge for me to see and understand my appointments for the day. 2) No counselor control over appointment start times--students can book them starting at 9:20, for example, rather than on the hour, half hour or quarter hour. 3) No counselor control over appointment blocks--I can end up with up to 17 half hour appointments in a day because I can't relegate a certain number of half hour vs 1 hour appointments. 4) Being chided by the system with a punitive message telling me the appointment has already ended when it hasn't and I'm trying to put in reason codes and check the student out. 5) The font size on the day at a glance is tiny and I still can't see all my appointments in one glance at the screen. 6) The student information is scattered all over a bunch of different tabs/areas, so rather than seeing name, ID, phone, email, DOB, etc. all in one place, I have to constantly click around and waste time to find the information. 7) Despite my setting not to receive emails about appointments, they come through anyway, constantly cluttering up my in-box. 8) It requires a super long learning curve and still isn't user-friendly.

When Covid first hit and everyone was forced to switch to virtual platforms, the software was very unstable which was understandable due to the drastic increase in users. This led us to go with another temporary option to ensure we could provide a service to our clients. We knew that we would eventually go back to ConexED as it had more functionality for what we needed. We are glad to have came back and our sessions are better than ever.

Pros

A lot of communication and interaction features that fit a wide variety of needs.

Cons

Bulky interface compared to other common virtual classroom software.

Overall it is pretty easy for college students to navigate.

Pros

I like the different features and functionality that this software provides. The appointment feature is very useful to have and it works out for different college department during the transition to online learning. I also like the personal card features which allows us to reach others when they are available.

Cons

This software often have multiple glitches -- hoping that it could be fixed. Moreover, it is not easy to contact the customer service.

I really enjoy using ConexED, I still use it today but since we did a switch to penji. I only use it for customer service chatting with students and its very helpful to have something reliable such as ConexED.

Pros

The features are great. Instant chat available, calendar events, scheduling appointments was easy to use.

Cons

There would like a glitch when clicking on a section and I had to click on it twice to get to the actual page.

I’ve set out educational plans and career choices!! It’s fantastic!!

Pros

I love screenshare and the ability to see who I’m speaking with. I use this a lot for meetings and it is fairly easy to use. It almost never has any bugs, and those go away fairly quickly!!

Cons

I feel like the outline could be a little easier. When I first started using it, it was a little confusing. That’s all!
