Having candidates go thru a testing portion of our recruiting and hiring process has surely confirmed suspicions both positively and negatively and led to better hiring for key roles. Pros There are so many options with EmployTest. The list of assessments is vast and broad. Finding a test or two to fit the exact position, skillset, etc. that you are looking to gain insight on is a breeze. Simply drag and drop what you want for each and every candidate. Cons They have decided to change their dashboard a few times over the past 4-5 years that I've used your product and it always comes as a surprise. That said the improvements are well done I just would of appreciated a heads up. November 25, 2024 4.0 It is easy to use and set up the tests for applicants. Very easy to use the remote option. We are able to have the test expired in three days. The results are great and very detail. I like it that we can add the supervisor's email and they receive the results right away. \[sensitive content hidden\] has been great in answering all my questions and helping me on everything I need. Pros We can do remote testing!! We learn we can have two tests for the prize of one? In some instances. Not sure how many more we can do it that way. It would be nice to know. Cons We did not have any kind of formal training on how to use the testing it to its max. For example: The digital literacy test and Excel 2013. Pros The price and it is easy to navigate through the site. Cons Digital Literacy test is out of date since it’s covering Windows 7. It would be more useful to have something that tested on an updated version, like Windows 10. Excel is also out of date since there is not the latest version available. This has made us look at other options. Cons User interface needs to be updated. The website itself gives very early 2000s vibes, and I think an update to the user interface would make a huge difference. Cons Would like more choice over the questions, and options for open ended answers. We would like a way to make EmployTest 100% cheat-proof (we know this is difficult!) especially with AI becoming more prevalent in test taking. It provides a next level of detail in order to help employers choose the right candidate. Pros EmployTest offers a wide range of candidate assessments in a number of different areas. Providing candidates with skills tests have helped us to determine whether the candidate is the right fit for the position. Following completion of the assessment, the site also sends a report via email with a detailed look on the candidates score. Cons The report did not include specific details on the questions that were asked. I ended up taking the tests myself and using some of our purchased credits in order to have some type of comparison on results. There was very little learning curve for our team. Customer service was very helpful and promptly answered any questions we had. Pros We vetted a number of testing programs, but truly were impressed by how well EmployTest simulated real-world skills and actions. We also appreciate being able to customize the tests if we need to remove or add an element. The library of tests is fairly extensive. Our team felt confident using these and it saved a lot of time for HR and the hiring manager. AND great customer support. Cons This was not a deterrent for our team, and was resolved quickly. There were a few issues with the initial setup of our account that delayed our ability to launch tests. However, the customer support team was extremely helpful and worked to get this resolved right away. Pros What I enjoy most about this product is the conveniences of it. It makes it much easier for candidates to access this product from where they are. Testing has become much easier on our end thanks to employ test. Lastly, we are fans of the instant test results that are sent via email, this has helped us become more fair and consistent across the board. Cons The least favorite thing about this software is that fact that sometimes it takes candidates a while to catch on how to navigate the simulation system. Also, the system will give candidates and incorrect answer mark if they attempt to complete the task via a "shortcut" in the software. It's amazingly valuable. Pros The test questions are perfect for obtaining a skill baseline for our prehire candidates. The test bank is awesome, and the fact that I can create a completely custom test is exceptional. Great system! Cons Multi-language would be great! We would use this system globally if we could get these tests in German also. Pros Love being able to purchase tests ala carte, instead of having to commit to a larger testing package. We are a small organization that hires infrequently, and this is a good fit for us. Cons It can be kind of difficult to choose the exact test you want to administer, but it is good that there are a lot of options. Reason for choosing EmployTest EmployTest offered the ability for ala carte testing, whereas Wonderlic required a more substantial commitment. Pros The variety of assessments is very important because the types of positions I recruit for is varied. Cons The function of sending out the assessment letter to candidates is confusing. I think the letter itself needs to be cleaned up. Reason for choosing EmployTest On doing research, the assessments from Employtest appeared to cover a braod variety.
