### "CQ Engage is the bomb"

I have had a great experience with CQ Engage. From setting up our advocacy program to using it to reach out to legislators, it's been a user-friendly, innovative and productive experience.

Pros

If you're in the advocacy business like I am, you need a robust grassroots program that will get your advocates engaged--no pun intended. CQ Engage has helped the NYS Animal Protection Federation garner $5M in funding for the Companion Animal Capital Fund in two state budgets and we're about to gear up for year #3. It's user friendly and the customer service, when I do have a question, is terrific.

Cons

At times, the program gets hung up and you can lose your work. That happens with all web/cloud based programs.

VoterVoice has helped us reposition the urgency of advocacy for our whole Foundation. I know that the progress we've made in the past two years would not have been possible without the use of this tool.

Pros

Votervoice has provided us a platform to digitize our advocacy in a way that is user-friendly, providing us with the tools to not only educate our volunteers on why it's important to advocate but also with the essential information that can put them on the right track. Among the things our volunteers love the most are the Action Center, the Legislator Look Up tool (and details on their legislators- that's the fan favorite!), and the track legislation tool. VoterVoice has helped take our lobbying out of Washington, DC and into the homes of patient advocates all around the country. Not to mention, the software has helped us make advovcacy more of a tangible and easy to adopt component to the broader mission that we strive for at our Foundation.

Cons

There are a few needed tools that would help take the software to the next level that right now require manual work from the user perspective. There is a need for better user/legislator tracking, streamlined analytics on global performance (rather than individual campaigns/emails), and better search capabilities for administrators. These add ons would make a great tool better and more intuitive.

Most reasonably priced, best proposal, and didn't require us to contract with tools we wouldn't use (like fundraising tools).

The past tool was twice the price of VoterVoice with half of the capabilities. And we don't manage a PAC, which is the main function of the tool. We shouldn't have used that software in the first place.

### "Gets the job done, enhancements would improve functionality"

Overall, voter voice is great for us. It does what we need it to do, but we are always looking for ways be more efficient, and I know with some enhancements, Voter Voice can help us with that.

Pros

advocates can respond in 1-2 clicks, making it easy to respond. You can easily re-serve action alerts to people who have not responded. The reporting and tracking is clean and straight forward. The action center is easy to edit and add content. Integration with the app is pretty cool.

Cons

The broadcast editor has some limitations on formatting graphics and moving objects around. Email messages are basic, which is not always a bad thing, but when we want to get jazzy, it's hard. Events--we need more functionality there. The ability to manually add/edit attendees from the backend makes it so we can actually use the tool. People register for events both through online systems, but also by calling. We have to have that ability.

Reason for choosing VoterVoice

Voter Voice is our long-time vendor and we don't have a good enough reason to switch. Plus, I feel like their price is fair for the product and service.

We've greatly increased our grassroots capabilities and can offer more advocacy tools to our members through our improved grassroots action center.

Pros

All the tools available for use to help us "up" our game with our advocacy efforts. Our members really like the ability to look up information on their elected officials, have information on bills impacting the industry, and be able to send in letters. It has a professional look and feel to it as well, which is helpful in stepping up our game. Lastly, the app has had the biggest impact with our members. Being able to set up meetings and track these meetings through the app (as well as load a ton of useful info in to each meeting, like intel and talking points), has been a hit with our members.

Cons

Not a lot of cons. The staff finder is a but clunky, but it works. It's also not the main reason we went with Voter Voice, although it is a tool that we use more often than not.

Offered more than BIPAC. Quorum offered too much and we would have paid more for bells and whistles we didn't need. Voter Voice was focused on grassroots, which was our main need.

Extremely positive. Very responsive customer service and when we asked for some special treatment, they found a way to make it happen.

Pros

We use this program for so much more than grassroots support generation. In addition to using it to spur our members to action, we use it to communicate in a professional and streamlined way with many of our constituency groups. The program is very user friendly and because it integrates with Salesforce, it is always updated. I believe that we can do more than what we are currently doing and are working towards that now. I highly recommend VoterVoice.

Cons

Sometimes the filters are a bit clumsy to work with but we have been able to utilize customer service and accomplish our goals.

We looked at a few and can't really remember thier names. VoterVoice was extremely user friendly and after looking at a few user's websites, I could see this on our own website.

It has allowed us to provide our members a tool/resource to contact and communicate directly and personally with their representative. The platform was extremely useful during the 2018 and 2019 legislative sessions in South Dakota where our members were able to make a significant impact on policy.

Pros

The Credit Union National Association transitioned into this platform, so it was logical that we did the same. It is an effective resource for our advocacy team to share and communicate directly to our constituency, and more importantly, it's easy for the end user to facilitate.

Cons

I have no comment for this section. All good.

The way you can customize legislative targets and send each group different messages is the best. It has made our advocacy efforts much more effective.

Cons

I wish we could do more when sending messages to the Hill from our organization. It would be nice to have more abilities to insert graphics.

Benefits we have realized is a push for county needs and connectivity. It has been positive, but we try not to flood our users with too much issues, unless there are ones we have kept them up to date on.

Pros

I enjoy the blog and survey features, it is honestly the most frequently used service we utilize in the portfolio. Side note: I appreciate the webinars by the VoterVoice, I could utilize that more frequently.

Cons

The campaigns can be a little difficult, because the ease to customize or layout is troublesome for some users on mobile. Surveys could use some updates, let me explain. Adding an other option for multiple answer question, so that a user can write in answer if any provided didn't reflect how they felt. The current option is to have a follow up question that prompts users to offer more. In cutting down the length of a survey the addition of a option fill in would be helpful.

### "Great fit for our federated structure"

Excellent and attentive customer service!

Pros

Easy to use. Ideal for setting up 1 or at most 2-click alerts. Also, as a large federated association with 150+ chapters, the weekly testing of email addresses is very helpful.

Cons

We use the plugin on our main site, and some more flexibility on eliminating some areas woudl be helpful

Pros

If you want it as a standalone product, you might find it somewhat useful. It's still not intuitive to use, but the features on the front end at least work.

Cons

Spent 6 months trying to get the data to sync to Salesforce, so we could see representatives in salesforce. They screwed up the data the first time and had no roll back or delete option, so we had to start a whole new site. The 2nd time the data stopped syncing after 80k advocates, and they never solved it. They just stopped answering our emails at support.

Voter Voice allows us to function like "the Great Oz." In other words, with a small team and a large membership, we can appear as staff to be more powerful and present.

Pros

The software is very user friendly and extremely robust. We have pushed the limits and it has risen to the challenge every time. It is dynamic and customizable.

Cons

Mapping is good, but I would love to see additional mapping capabilities.

### "Good product but could use some refinement"

We subscribed to better track and manage communcations. This has been helpful through VV, however VV has not done much with further refining and enhancing the interface in recent years.

Pros

The utility of the product has made advocating more managable and measurable. The customor service team is amazing and a cornerstone of the value of the product as a user.

Cons

1\. There should be consolidation of the tabs when creating and managing "alerts" 2. Adding a tab(s) for each use rather than having drop downs in order to get to the particular tool you want would be helpful and improve the experience i.e. tab for CTA, Newsletters, Informational Broadcast. 3. It would be helpful to set up automatic response reports for CTAs etc.

Not sure I'd recommend this to someone who was looking for the entire package for a program that could do advocacy and weekly communications to members. It's not flexible enough for both.

Pros

The customer service is amazing! My questions were always quickly answered with solutions that usually worked for my association. The advocacy portion of the software works much better than the communication portion.

Cons

The metrics are questionable. In the 8 years I've used this software, our open rate rarely budged. I couldn't tell how my audience was receiving the newsletter (measurement by device isn't available) and what is available didn't add up. There was often technical issues in setting up the newsletter that involved me using source code to fix.

We use VoterVoice for mass calls to action and to drive recruitment. It has been very good with that. As we look to scale up and broaden our advocacy capacities, we will look into VoterVoice's capabilties to meet our needs. We have gained access into our membership and beyond - into folks who care about politics and advocacy and getting involved.

Pros

The software is very user friendly - very clean, very intuitive. It easily fits our need for mass communication to members with a call to action as well as direct access to congressional staff to broadcast our activities and impact. Additionally - the customer service has been and remains outstanding. Rep in particular has been tremendous to work with.

Cons

The software is rather limited in that it is primarily email based and not easily used with social media or directing folks to call Congress. Also - state legislative or agency contacts would be very helpful.

Reason for choosing VoterVoice

I was hired after we chose VoterVoice. I decide to stick with it because it is easy to use, fairly priced and good for our current goals and usage.

I have enjoyed using this product, the more that I am able to explore the webpage, the more tools I find that our company can use. The customer service has been excellent and the features/tools have helped me gain a better understanding of our legislature.

Pros

I enjoyed the ease of VoterVoice, the system is not difficult to learn. There are many features of the system that are self explanatory-if you need a little more help understanding the system, VoterVoice's customer support team is excellent. They are quick to respond and always make sure you leave the conversation with a better understanding of the system. The VoterVoice system made it very easy for us to import our membership information-we could do mass imports as well as update information easily.

Cons

I have thoroughly enjoyed using this software for a multitude of reasons. For my own knowledge, I would love to see webinars where the team can review different aspects of the software and teach customers different ways to use the software to further advance their knowledge.

Of the three systems that I have worked with, Voter Voice has the most outstanding customer service.

Pros

The extent of the features are amazing. We can do calls-to-action, monitor bills, create scorecards, blog posts, and have a link to voter registration.

Cons

I would love the ability to add news streams to our website. It helps keep relevant information available to our membeship all from our site. Occasionally, the scorecard feature does not tally correctly. I've been given the ability to update the information manually, but when dealing with dozens of legislative bills, this becomes tedious. As a volunteer, my time is particularly valuable.

It has been positive. We use it often. The tech support is outstanding and very responsive.

Pros

The predictive political district by address is amazing. That makes it so easy for our membership to contact their elected officials.

Cons

There have been some functions that I wish existed that has caused issues for our organization. For example, we represent state employees so there are some times we need to use their personal email addresses rather than the state email address. VoterVoice does not have the ability to have two email addresses for one person.

Pros

It is a perfect platform for reaching out to elected officials- our users find the software easy to use, and as an admin, not is simple to manage and run from the back end.

Cons

There were a few things we were unable to accomplish with the software, but the team at VoterVoice connected us with the right third party software needed to accomplish our goals!

We started using VV to map addresses to districts in our AMS system. We planned to then use the advocay features during session and were forced to use constituency based targeting which doesn't make sense for a state chamber of commerce.

Pros

Ease of use. It is easy to build and manage advocacy campaigns.

Cons

Forced to use constituency based campaigns. We represent the business community in Florida and if there is legislation that will positively or negatively affect the business community it will affect all businesses, not just the businesses in a few districts.

Reason for choosing VoterVoice

Didn't have a choice but to keep us as a client we need to be able to control turning off constituency targeting.

When i call the customer support people, they're pretty prompt and clear. You've had webinars covering usage but not sure how to access them after-the-fact.

Pros

It reaches our email list. I can send what I need in text form and it does so pretty quickly.

Cons

The complexity of the process discourages me from using it more frequently. I'd like to send short iphone video clips...can I do this? Hard to place graphics in the email. I tried to send a .pdf file but I was told it was too large...discourages use.
