Pros Super easy to implement, very intuitive. Our teams are giving each other a steady stream of rewards people can turn in for things they actually want! No one is going to log into a separate system to look at a feed, and while a written shout out is nice... if there's no value attached other than "nice," no one cares. Matter is different. There is real value attached but at a flexible and low cost to the company. Their Feedback Fridays in Slack have motivated an awesome culture of thanking people publicly for their help, and as a manager, it gives me a quick way to thank a team member for going above and beyond. I've always hated this TYPE of system, but I love Matter. Pros Easy integration & customization within Slack, so easy to add to multiple channels to provide shoutouts across different teams, fosters a fantastic sense of community and gives a quick and easy way to appreciate team members going the extra mile. Cons The only con I have to offer here is the formatting of Kudos messages - we have a lot of fantastically creative people on the team who would love the ability to build little cards themselves rather than using stock fonts and basic colour backgrounds Review Source ADW April D W. administration Retail Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "There is a first time for Everything...." January 15, 2025 5.0 this was one of the first recognition software companies i used. ive no complaints, easy to set up easy to use. They offer top notch customer service, and treat you like real people should. Matter integrates well with all my other software and sites and apps i work with daily and can access from my phone, laptop, desktop or tablet making it a given. i did switch companies, after finding several offering same service for free, but Matter as i said was one of my first, and no complaints. But you can give Kudos at any time. Sometimes its a competition to see who gives the most Kudos. Again easy to use. Pros I liked the ease of use(Kudos button is everywhere) and the prompts to remind you to Kudos. Always a little fun every Friday when we run it. Like the recap on Mondays as well. Cons Nothing really. Easy to use and intuative. Switched from [15Five](https://www.capterra.com/p/140437/15Five/) Cost and Slack integration, I believe. We like the incentives it rewards our employees with, and overall think it's a good idea. It's a bit underutilized at times in our environment, but I think that's a more personal issue rather than an issue with the product. Pros It does help with employee happiness and productivity by incentivizing people with free gifts for a job well done/anniversaries and birthdays. In addition to being able to recognize people for good work, you can also give points for birthdays for people to save up to get items they really want. You don't have to worry about buying gifts and mailing them since we are a completely remote company. Pros It's a great way to recognize co-workers for going over and beyond on projects. Cons Sometimes people use it to give points just to be giving points to multiple people in order for them to get points back. September 10, 2024 5.0 Matter is a great and cost-effective solution to boost team morale. I have used similar platforms in the past, but many were cost prohibitive for a small company. The cost is fair, and once you have it set up properly, it requires very little maintenance. This is one of the best things we've done for team morale. Pros We use the Teams integration and manage Matter almost entirely from there. Once it's set up, it really runs itself, with Matter encouraging the team weekly to send Kudos, and all approvals and notifications coming through Teams. Cons I wish there were bonuses you could award for certain behaviors you want to incentivize. For example, taking a vacation, where the employee could go in and redeem for points themselves, and matter would automatically limit the frequency with which it could be redeemed per employee.
