There are a few minor issues, that would be nice to haves in the near future, like being able to change colours or sublines of the skills, once you already got feedback on them and the managerial access to all profiles in our space. Yes)" August 17, 2021 5.0 Pros I enjoyed the ability to solicit feedback anonymously from both equal colleagues as well as my superiors. Being able to track responses from an individual quarantine over time allows me to see how I improve, or regress, in certain areas. The more people in your network that can give you feedback, the more powerful this tool will be. Cons It really is it’s most effective when you have a large network of people from whom to solicit feedback, or are in a position where very frequent resurveying makes sense with the overall pace of your job. Data Professional Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Enabled me to get much higher quality 360 feedback" August 23, 2021 5.0 I have only been using Matter as an individual user for getting 360 feedback (the original functionality it had in 2020). I have used this to gather feedback in roles since 2020. I am really impressed with this software as an individual. Feedback survey software used in companies (if they use any at all) tends to be generic survey forms with freeform text boxes which are ineffective at encouraging specific feedback. The quality of feedback and how it is reported are excellent. I thoroughly recommend Matter and coworkers who have given me feedback have also adopted it. Pros The skill ontology seems basic at first but it is so useful. It enables you to think of skills you want to develop that you might not have thought of before until you see them as options. The ontology has made me rethink how I approach performance reviews and what skills I want to get feedback on - Matter has really enabled me to own these processes. Once feedback is in it is also clear in reporting to see which skills are highest rated and which ones are worth focusing on for improvement. The form is simple to use and lets people give focused feedback. The prompts that are offered also help to generate feedback and actions. For people who are not used to giving 360 feedback (e.g. people who have just started their careers) it is also intuitive software for them to use. Easy to keep track of responses from coworkers / peers. Cons Custom rating scales, or at least wider scoring than 1 to 5, would be a major improvement. People are prone to give 4 or 5 for ratings so it would be great to have a wider scale (support e.g. 1 to 10, -5 to +5) and custom descriptions of ratings. The limit of 6 personal feedback in history is low - it would be great if this were higher, or restricted to a timeframe like months, when you don't need Unlimited. It's a nice way to create the habit of giving and receiving feedback. Not all feedback you get will be useful, but the ones that are really help. Cons Giving feedback is still hard - especially if you don't know what to talk about. It's common for someone to request you feedback regarding one of their skills... and nothing comes to mind. The problem is that feedback should occur in the moment the be timely - and between the event that could originate a good feedback and the feedback request, that timing is gone. If you could set it to trigger celebrations when an individual or a department hit an objective that would be amazing. Pros Easy to use and clearly displays the feedback. The designs of the templates are nice and it's quick and relatively hassle free to get setup. Cons There's only two options to provide feedback, so it only makes it possible to use in some scenarios. The feedback isn't customisable so it ends up being fatiguing seeing the same feedback templates over and over. It's also not customisable with brand. You can't screenshot what a specific person has done, if it's a development task you're praising, for example.
