Administrator Alternative Medicine Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Failed Colossally" September 8, 2025 2.0 My overall experience with Filmora was wrought with frustration, feeling mislead and having to pay to test their malfunctioning software. I spent a few weeks going around in circles with one problem or another trying to produce content with Filmora. Ultimately, I didn't accomplish one piece of content. Leaving me to feel as though I paid to tell them what is not working. I was grateful that I caught the attention of a product manager who was very courteous and professional. He invited me to have a video conference so they can get a thorough intake on my series of experiences. This was a good move on their part. However, as to what the outcome would be for improving the software, I have no idea because I will never use their apps again. Not only is the software not performing they way they market it, their pricing structure is confusing to the point of mind numbing. I couldn't make sense of what I was getting with any given subscription for either the service or access to media? As someone who developed educational software for five years, my take away is, this company is far too big to keep a handle on all the software components. Too many cooks in the kitchen while they roll out all this AI stuff that needs far more testing before it's rolled out to the public. The mobile versus desktop laptop apps are very different animals leading one to feel like they are almost completely separate from each other. Features in one platform where not available in the other. Leading to questioning my sanity?? They just didn't coalesce as one would hope in an efficient, cohesive workflow. The project manager who kept in touch, stated that his hands were tied because certain things where not in his department. He dealt with the desktop based apps, not mobile apps. I really can't fault him at all. He was doing the best he could with what he had to work with. At least he was professional, honest and responsive and for that, I give him, as an employee five stars. Caveat Emptor - try at your own risk. I hope you have time and money to waste to see if it works for you. If it does, then GREAT! It just failed colossally in my experience. I don't always feel comfortable writing negative reviews but in order to be honest, these things need to be stated. I have spent hundreds of dollars on the latest and greatest AI content creation tools. Only to have wasted more time and money with experiences like this. If we don't share our experiences on platforms such as Capterra, the problems will not be addressed by the developer because they live in their own bubbles with their priorities first. Pros The most liked feature of filmora for me was Picture in picture, where we can add a blank background colour and then add more layers above it. This helped to make a collage of videos. The video crop feature and adjustable feature where I was able to rotate the video at some angle helping me to align the video. Cons Every changes that I made took a lot of time to get processed, timeout happens a lot. Sometimes the process never ends and keep on loading. Another red flag is their big watermark for unpaid version, you just know they are very selfish and dont want you to use them for free like other better app with smaller watermark. so now I am stuck with a useless good for nothing app for a year and I cant get my money back because they wont refund me. After subscribing for this software, you still have to subscribe to use any meaningful features like a youtube subscribe sticker, and captioning your video you also need to pay again to even use that feature, making it like 3 different yearly billed subscription to have a meaningful usage. This is a Sc@m software, I definitely don't recommend for anyone, and I am pissed. Also trust pilot issued a warning they are paying people to write good reviews for them, take this review as a good first hand experience and save yourself the stress and waste of money and space. Cons The video quality when uploaded to Youtube was terrible. I got better results just posting directly to Youtube from my iPhone. My biggest complaint is the company itself. When it works it's great but man, try getting this thing to open so you can use it. Pros I either edit my boss's video, or I create videos. We don't need fancy bells and whistles, just simple tools, and Filmora gives me that. Cons IT NEVER OPENS. Seriously, I have so much trouble trying to launch this program.
