I find setup and management of the AuthPoint solution fairly easy and well documented. Watchguard support is excellent for the solution. Diagnosing issue with logins is easy thanks to the audit logs. Pros Easy and secure access to management through Watchguard Cloud. Documentation for integration with products is available on Watchguard website. The AuthPoint app for the mobile device (Android and Mac) is secure and easy to use. The SSO portal for applications is easy to configure and very convenient for end-users. Cons The rare outages of the service which delays or prevents logins. AuthPoint app will not allow me to sort tokens or filter / search for tokens which is a burden when users have dozens on tokens. August 7, 2025 5.0 Out of all of the MFA apps Authpoint is the best and easiest. Being able to log on with a QR Code when machine is offline is a huge plus. Pros The ease to add the tokens to the app and labeling them. Also, being able to back up to the cloud is extremely convenient. Cons The lag when getting a token to prompt. Pros Easy to install and to manage. It works as expected. Cons My wish is to integrate this functionality into the appliance. The appliance is reachable from external network and it should be possible to manage it without the cloud interaction. Can be centrally managed via the Watchguard online portal. Cons No ability for an end user to reset their Token if they lock themselves out. Pros There was a lot of available documentation related to the set up process that made it so easy to get set up, when I had any questions, support was very easy to reach out to and solve my problems. Cons It can be confusing for some users to use, if they are not familiar with MFA, and the app permissions on android can cause problems that I have seen for a select user, otherwise it's very robust. We were able to set up MFA in under 1 day to increase security of connections to office network resources in a short time and feel almost as secure as we were when staff worked in -office. Watchguard MFA was an integral part of a comprehensive security approach Pros Very simple management, and the mobile app was simple use for our staff. The mobile app was compatible with almost all 2FA /MFA supporting websites as staff were able to extend security to unrelated sites used by the company that they visited. Cons Deeper integration with 3rd part tools. I would like to use for MFA for desktop logins Reason for choosing WatchGuard AuthPoint Less costly and easily integrated to our VPN product. Pros The app is an important element of the approval process for AuthPoint. In addition, it's important to be able to allow those that needed access through the WatchGuard Cloud. Cons I wish the licensing aspect of the WatchGuard could be easier to understand and easier to manage. After rolling out WatcHguard Authpoint, it stopped working for some users because of licensing issues therefore we had to get additional licenses. Pros Very easy to use and securing it along side Watchguard Firewall. Connects well to onsite and cloud users Cons The initial setup takes about an hour but that is it it's really great to use. They do also allow hardware tokens that can be assigned to users in case they don't want to download the app.In the mobile app it also allows the user to migrate their token to a new phone by ease. Cons Users sometimes can't connect after sending push notification to the app for approval. It shows they were successfully connected from the Admin portal though. In most case we would have to reinstall most updated firmware SSL Client App. But this would require to be in person for admin credentials. Other issue is when users remotely connect, they quickly get disconnected after successfully connecting.
