This allowed us to be more efficient as we wouldn't have had to input all our sales transactions one by one. Pros \- Affordable, as it was a one time fee to implement the program as opposed to a recurring subscription model - Easy to navigate and comprehensive: the main page - MoneyWorks always automatically backs up so the latest versions are always saved - Good for financial reporting Cons \- It was a standalone software and we did not have the cloud version, so there was no integration with our e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify), meaning that every transaction had to be manually input by our bookkeeper. This would inevitably result in some human errors - It was difficult to capture COGS accurately because bills for shipping were not able to be linked to bills for goods. Pros The feature that impressed me most immediately are the charts shown for each process and element of complex double entry accounting. Those charts make the process much easier, especially for someone like me, a visual processor. Cons The one thing that is most difficult is that there is very little hands on assistance available in the U.S. The one person in my own area, southern California, has told me each time I've called that he is too busy to be able to help. I wish that Cognito would find a way to train someone, somewhere in the world, a good English speaker, who would then become the person available for us, even if they are not actually based in the U.S. One saving grace is that if I contact them directly in New Zealand, I'll get an answer very quickly at about 2 pm, when they start their business day. The second thing is that they could easily provide, I think, a much better set of tools for designing forms. Filemaker Pro is mentioned as a program that is relatable. But Filemaker has an easy to use forms design tool. We gave up trying to use Moneyworks to design our form. Reasons for choosing MoneyWorks I liked the visual interface and thought it looked more professional. It allows ease of speed while filling out bookkeeping and accounting information. Worth a buy. Pros Quickness and the ease of use are the words to use here. It is a simple platform that delivers the one thing we all want, results. Compatible with PC, Mac, and the cloud. The free trial is 15 days longer then other simular programs I have seen or tried. Cons The costs are moderate. While you can subscribe to it I would recommend that you look at all your price options on all software before making a decision to buy it. Many of my co-workers have adapted very quick. We have not had many issues and we love the intuitive side of MoneyWorks. I believer we will stick with MoneyWorks for quite some time. Cons Since they are located in New Zealand, trying to get support is a bit tricky.
