Pros I initially started using it as a note-taking tool, but later found it extremely helpful for task management and documentation in agile projects. Therefore, I highly recommend it. There are already many templates available online for task and schedule management, making it easy for beginners to quickly catch up. Additionally, with a paid subscription, you can share workspaces with team members, making it suitable for small projects without much financial burden. Cons I primarily used Microsoft OneNote but switched to Notion for side projects. The shortcuts were not standardized and quite different, which made it inconvenient initially. Pros I use Notion often for taking notes and organizing various projects. It's great for handling different types of data and the AI options are impressive, making it a very versatile tool. You can include text, images, databases, and more all in one page, which is fantastic. Cons I do have some issues with how pages are linked and the overall structure. Super easy interface, and very easy to get up and running. Super self explanatory. Visually great, and the easiest way to make a public facing dashboard or data room. This flexibility comes with a degree of difficulty. Cons Some of the more advanced features seem not quite optimized and come with minor annoyances. June 12, 2024 5.0 Notion is something that you can do some brain dump with but at the same time, when you are not overwhelmed with every task that you have to do, you can easily arrange and put everything in order from your brain dumping. You can customize it in a way that you want and what you find manageable, making it easier for you to navigate your won personal agendas without it being all over the place. I can even use it offline and still work on my projects. The mobile app of Notion is easy to use as well so there really is nothing more I need. It's something that I've discovered back when I was still a student but it is still something that I love using now that I am an employee and a business owner. Pros What I love most about Notion is that I can easily do project collaborations with my business partners, we can simply edit or arrange the page to our preference. I love how I can easily customize a page in whatever I like but mostly, I love how it can help you get your tasks done and know which one to prioritize or which ones need less attention, it helps a lot with time management as well. Pros It is simple and efficient to use. There's no fluff, it begins with a blank page, where I can quickly jot down meeting notes. I enjoy having the AI prompts available to assist me with extra details and brainstorming. Cons It takes adjusting to using "/" to initiate if you want certain words bolded, italics, etc. I'm used to having the pop-up available for those, however, it isn't a con to where it would drive me to another platform. Just takes a little adjusting for a millennial like myself. Market Analyst Aviation & Aerospace Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great for Startups, not sure about Mature Businesses" June 3, 2024 4.0 The way we used it at the startup I was working remotely at was kind of like a complete workplace with all the documents and various functions and projects loaded on there. I think this works well for a small team, but I don't think its super scalable without some serious forethought and planning, and likely some kind of "Notion Consultant" to help organise things. Pros Notion has a lovely layout with the left sidebar containing all the different pages, projects, tasks, etc. A little silly, but I love that we can add banners and emojis to the title and make the "virtual workplace" our own. Its great to be able to integrate other apps into Notion. We added our Gdrive, Slack, and Figma into the space and it functioned well. There are also ways to share specific pages with guests, and its possible to have private pages, separate from the team. Cons As lovely as the layout is, our Notion became cluttered and messy fast because we didn't quite know where to add what (e.g. tasks, projects, pages, etc.). It takes quite a bit of knowledge and forethought to organise a team around it. I also don't like that there are very limited fonts and typography. So anything that we export to PDF doesn't look part of our brand and we have to re-do it on another software. Also, when we embed documents in our pages, we don't quite have the same visibility (i.e. we have to click on a specific page to see what documents are linked to it). Maybe that's the way its intended to be, but I found it a little annoying and often just used Gdrive instead. Switched from [Asana](https://www.capterra.com/p/184581/Asana-PM/) I would say primarily the look and feel of Asana was not something we naturally went back to. Notion's aesthetics (left sidebar layout, black-and-white colour scheme) made it a lot easier to check in on several times a day, vs. needing to be reminded to check Asana every week.
