### "My most favorite note app"

March 11, 2023

4.0

Notion is a great software for Students and employees for tracking their notes, and plans, and organizing files.

Pros

I like notion because it has a lot of free templates, and you can back up from both websites and mobile apps which is very convenient for me.

Cons

at first, it's so hard to memorize all the features and commands, but once you're used to it. It will be the most helpful software for productivity

Reason for choosing Notion

Beaucoup de personne me l'ont recommandé et j'ai vu beaucoup de publicité

### "Powerful and versatile "

February 6, 2021

5.0

I started simple: just taking notes, and storing information- similar to a wiki type setup. From there, I started connecting the information to create a dashboard of tasks, meeting notes, contacts, questions and reference data. Now it’s an indispensable tool for both short term (weekly priorities) and long term data storage and access.

Pros

Notion is a powerful information repository. Very customizable to suit most any need to document, analyze and share information with your team, or just reference yourself.

Cons

While you can easily get started, the power in in relational databases - interconnecting, different blocks of information and bring it together for easy analysis and consumption. This can take some time to master. Adding functions takes this to whole other level.

### "Great idea, huge potential, but ultimately lacks practical functionality"

February 25, 2022

4.0

Despite my annoyances with it, I really think Notion is onto something special. It has the potential to be my go-to spot for all my brainstorming and organizing, and I'm excited to see how it evolves. But for now, I really don't use it for anything serious because of how limited its practical functionality is. Bummer.

Pros

I love the idea of Notion - a tool that lets you track all your important information in one place, from tasks and to-dos to ideas and notes. I found the interface a bit confusing to start with, but once I got used to it I loved the flexibility it gave me to organize my thoughts and ideas. I also like the way you can create different 'pages' for each project, and then share these with other people if needed.

Cons

There are a few things I that I really, really don't like about Notion. First, you can't live-embed Notion's pages, you can only share links which at best show up as cards if you're savvy at embeds. This is sort of ridiculous for a modern software tool - I would not expect this in 2022. Second, the text editing features are not intuitive and are very picky about the ways they can be used. I know Notion is working on this, but it's such a pain to try and create salience through formatting with so little customizability in comparison to any popular word processing software like Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Pages, etc. Third, the fact that you can't modify the HTML for an embed in one of Notion's pages is frustrating – no idea why code snippets or other kinds of simple injections are disallowed here.

### "Notion is the only software you need for your organisational needs!"

April 15, 2023

5.0

Notion has helped me organise all aspects of my life in one place. It has extraordinary functionality and the ability to be one of the softwares I will use in the long run!

Pros

Notion is so easy to use! There are a library of free templates to use and ample websites and blogs talking about how to use the software if you face any issue.

Cons

I would love to create widgets for my devices using the content from my notion workspace. It is a stretch but I hope it will be possible in the future!

### "Notion - das perfekte All-In-One Tool"

October 13, 2021

5.0

July 4, 2023

3.0

Pros

I loved the ease of use, for creating categories, pages and editing them. It's very very cool for having a clear organisation.

Cons

Some features are "tricky" to manipulate but with few hours.. You're about to become a master.

Reason for choosing Notion

At the beginning it was just testing with the free trial, and.. We're loving it.

### "Playful, Innovative, and Fresh Productivity Tool"

January 7, 2022

5.0

It is good overall. Very recommended! The only productivity tool you may need from now on.

Pros

1\. Fresh and New! - I have been using productivity tools to keep my notes and track my tasks until I discovered Notion during the pandemic. It's like a breath of fresh air in my apps since it is looking new and the icon is cute as well. 2. Playful - I love its editing features. Very modern and playful. You can keep your notes while still executing your productivity 3. Everything is saved even if it is closed so there is no hassle

Cons

There are a few updates for this tool and it can require you from time to time, as needed. But there are no critical thing about this software that is undesirable.

### "The one app I open every day that isn't a social network."

December 24, 2025

5.0

I have been using Notion for over a year now, and as we've more into video production across multiple platforms, it has become more invaluable to track multiple projects, collect ideas and keep the team on task. We're uploading at least one video per day per platform, so it's critical to keep the project on track and in the loop.

Pros

Ideas can hit at any time of the day and I don't have to scramble to find a place to put them for follow up. I click the app on my phone and capture what I need to follow up on later.

Cons

I haven't found a downfall in using it yet. Some apps glitch or stop, and have to be restarted, but even after updates, this one performs above expectation.

### "Notion is my daily homepage!"

June 3, 2022

5.0

I've been using Notion for a couple of years to organize my personal and work life. It's easy to share notes with a public URL if needed. The editing tools are strong.

Pros

I love the ability to easily structure your notes. You can easily create unlimited sub-pages, but still keep your work organized. It's just as fast and easy to use on my phone as it is on my computer.

Cons

I sometimes trigger shortcuts by adding a / in my writing! Not a big deal and I'm used to it happening now so I've worked around it.

### "Notion Review"

November 17, 2022

5.0

Using notion for daily task management, knowledge sharing, project management, and sprint planning It is an all-in-one tool for me.

Pros

Within Notion, customization and ease of use are on another level. Finding something that combines a simple-to-use, filterable task list with project management features seems harder than I had anticipated. Once I've landed and am at ease with Notion, I won't turn around. Time management and task tracking are made simple by the user interface's simplicity.

Cons

Limited fonts and styling are used in Notion. The most irritating thing about Concept is that you can't create recurring activities without purchasing add-ons, which is a nuisance.

### "Among the best options to get organized. "

January 29, 2023

5.0

For me, it was a great help. Since I started using Notion I can get organized like never before. It really made my life easier and better.

Pros

What I liked the most is the functionality of being able to work at the same time with a group and thus notice their progress. Although it is not easy to use, once you learn how to use it, it is very useful. Regarding the integration with colleagues, it can be a bit tedious at the beginning (as it was in my case). However, once managed, it is a great ally in the design and fulfillment of joint goals.

Cons

What I didn't like is that there are few language options. This can make it difficult to use for people who do not speak more than one native language, which is not among those options.

### "A flexible well-developed notetaking tool with extras"

June 15, 2021

5.0

I used Notion for several projects, mainly because with Table' formulas, I can add in the same project, a Scope and a Finances sheet with everything I need to present a proposal or the progress of a project.

Pros

It's a really easy tool to use. You can create posts, articles, logs, and organize info in no time. But the thing I like the most is the table feature. Really powerful. In second it would be the ability to share pages as templates. A real-time-saver!

Cons

As it's a complex tool behind the scenes, the development is a bit on the slow side. So you don't see big upgrades coming often. What I wish it was better: more PM features, and a faster development

### "Notion For Productivity"

April 28, 2023

5.0

I like working with Notion. It is incredibly simple to get going with. There is plenty of room for taking notes, creating tasks, working together on projects with team members, and monitoring projects thanks to the user interface's simplicity and lack of frills. You may also utilise some useful pre-built templates. Numerous practical shortcuts are also available.

Pros

It's simple to work on papers and projects with other team members in real time. The programme provides well organised workspaces that are simple to utilise. -When working on specific projects with groups of team members from the entire team, the teamspace function is quite helpful. -I appreciate that Notion offers both a desktop software and a cloud/web-based experience. For organising projects and allocating team members to projects, tables and spreadsheets are incredibly simple to build and amend. Even after using project tracking tables for a while, I can still make adjustments, add or delete fields, and generally improve things over time.

Cons

Notion appears to want to keep things simple and offer a distraction-free work and collaboration area, which makes me wish I could customise the workplace a little more. - It would be nice to have additional formatting and customization choices for text.

### "The project management platform I've been dreaming of!"

November 18, 2020

5.0

Incredible. So easy to implement, I switched from anther project management tool and was stressed about the undertaking but it went so seamlessly. I can't say enough great things about this tool, it's so powerful and organized so simply that it makes it incredibly easy to use.

Pros

It's simple and yet incredibly feature rich, allowing you to customize every page to the way that you process and organize information. The search tool is powerful and with so many formatting/layout options Notion gets rid of the need for Google Docs. The price is also insanely great and their free option let's you try it out first before you commit.

Cons

The only feature I would say is missing is a chat option. Team members can easily collaborate on documents, tagging each other and leaving comments but having a chat feature that functions like Slack would be awesome so it's truly an all in one platform.

Switched from

[Basecamp](https://www.capterra.com/p/56808/Basecamp/)

Basecamp had some features missing, there weren't enough custom options for organizing information or formatting documents. I found my team still needed to use Google Docs/Drive and with so many communication options on Basecamp people were getting confused on where to look for information. It is also incredibly expensive compared to Notion unless you have a large team of over 10 people.

### "The IKEA of all Softwares"

August 31, 2022

5.0

My productivity and note management has increased drastically because of notion.

Pros

The best thing about Notion is that you can customize the entire software as per your needs. It's like building a software but only for yourself. Also, there are a lot of developers that create notion templates for all kinds of needs.

Cons

Integration is I feel the biggest drawback, but I know the Notion team is working on them.

The collaboration features are exceptional, facilitating real-time collaboration and knowledge sharing. The flexibility to adapt Notion to our unique workflows is a great advantage. Notion continues to be an indispensable tool for organising information and fostering collaboration in our organisation.

February 10, 2024

Overall it became my go-to app for information management. All be it for work or personally, I love it

Pros

The simplicity of the app is superb. Biggest issue for me is how easily these things start looking cluttered, and that is not the case here. Lots of features without making it look cluttered.

Cons

Feel like there’s some kind of learning curve here. Would have preferred to have an introduction that is clear on its capabilities etc.

### "A more doesn't mean always a better"

November 27, 2019

3.0

Like many others: I am a migrant-from-evernote-to-notion user. So I really feel a difference. Evernote become with time a boring routine. You ended up konwing all what the software capacities without a horizon you can looking for. Evernote blog is a good resource but it is not enough for me. The comparison with Evernote is critical for me. So I can tell you that Notion provide you all what Evernote offer plus a not-so-boring journey during using the product.

Pros

Without doubt its ubiquity (they claim you can organise anything within it) is incredible.

Cons

User experience is not that good. It is not comfort for the eyes. Too many options. Too many features. Need time to learn and use and you ended up reexplain that too many time to your team OR you must buy Khe course about that product. And it's something you should really consider into your calculation of what that software cost.

February 6, 2023

5.0

My productivity has increased, before using it, I saw many tutorials on the internet on how to use it and the usage examples as well. It takes a while to memorize the shortcuts and I also use it in my company for project collaboration.

Pros

Even in the free tier, it has a variety of themes and templates to choose from. We can synchronize across multiple devices. Helps to collaborate on the project with teams. It has multiple snippets to organize information quickly.

Cons

It has a learning curve to master the tool, you have to watch many tutorials to get the best out of it.

It has a web-based option or an app, in which you can explore several tools. These tools are super intuitive and we can easily create workflows that help our teams to achieve a better performance.

Cons

### "Great free option for academics for knowledge managment and light team collaboration"

June 29, 2022

5.0

Pros

Notion.so is a very powerful and mature tool that can be used for both personal knowledge management and team collaboration. It is free for personal use, students and academics get the Personal Pro account for free even with unlimited number of file uploads and guests in any workspace. It is thus perfectly usable even for some light teamwork.

Cons

Notion.so feels sometimes clunky. In particular, the implementation of some of features inspired by Roam (like bidirectional linking, transclusion) does not feel great.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Notion

I used Roam quite extensively for my personal notes but Notion.so is better for team collaboration, in my opinion. The reasons are that it is more traditional in its approach and UI/UX and has matured collaboration tools.

Overall, I really love the software. It helps me do a lot of different things in one place with one set of tools.

Pros

I love the versatility of Notion. From creating simple documents to complex spreadsheets that can be viewed as boards, calendars, and smart filtered lists. Once you wrap your mind around the core functions, there are so many possibilities.

Cons

It can be overly complicated sometimes. The UI/UX for just typing out a document is a little lackluster and cumbersome at times.

### "Goodbye Asana, Hello Notion"

November 18, 2020

5.0

Pros

As a longtime user of Asana, I always wished the properties for tasks were more customizable. Notion solves this problem and then some. Within a week, I had set off on a quest to consolidate information for my company that was spread across Google Docs, Sheets, and Asana, all into Notion. It does it all, and it does it all in an infinitely customizable way. Want to view a PDF, a table, images, and embedded videos all in one page? Easy. Want to create a database that serves multiple departments across your company? Piece of cake. It's so customizable that I even began to use it to track things in my personal life - goals, recipes, bills, notes. It is truly the ultimate planner.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve to understanding exactly how Notion operates (databases, pages, relations, permissions) but this comes with any software. But once I had my "a-ha!" moment, I realized just how much information I would be able to organize all within one app.

Switched from

[Asana](https://www.capterra.com/p/184581/Asana-PM/)
