April 6, 2026 5.0 Before Notion, we had information spread across at least 10 different applications. Now most of that information is located in Notion. This probably saves me some time. Pros Notion has databases, templates and workflows. I think what is cool is that it holds permissions exactly where you place them. To be honest, I am just glad the Role Based Control (RBAC) does not automatically reset after I login. So far, it has been useful to keep all of our information in one location, especially since we used to dig through 50 tabs like crazy people. Cons They really need to add much more advanced capabilities for the custom actions for the AI. Pros Notion is gorgeous and it’s extremely flexible. I use it for my reading list and to take notes in meetings. I can have pages in pages. It serves as a kind of personal wiki for all my research results and thoughts. I love the clean look. Cons Sometimes the mobile app is a little slow to load. When it gets too much data loaded in one page, it starts to lag. Also, it takes forever to figure out a really good template. At times, I put more into the design than doing the actual job. Cons For Notion what I don't like is that complex pages becomes heavy and messy, as we grow in projects it's hard to keep the structure clear and juniors take time to get into this. Pros Throughout all my university period I used notion all the time, it's easy to use you can do a lot of things and take notes with it, I used it also to work with colleagues and the storage it holds it's also amazing. All the data were saved on my tablet, it helped me so much in those years. Pros I love Notion's interface. It is very easy to make your notes look good, easy to read, and well organized. I also love that Notion has so much expandability—I feel like I am just at the beginning. One can grow with Notion. Cons Some of the attributes of Notion are easy to pick up. But some, such as creating websites and accounting spread sheets, calendars -- those will take time. And while I am sure it will be worth it, it does require some dedicated learning & focus time. Which isn't bad at all -- just requires planning. It can wrap around your business which is why i am using it daily. I find Notion AI a bit lazy at times, I end up connection to my own llm outisde. Pros Honestly, what I love most about Notion is how it just gets out of my way and lets me organize everything exactly how I want. I can dump all my random ideas in one place, set up automations with n8n that actually work, and keep track of my clients without switching between a million different apps. The fact that I can create a page that's part notes, part database, part whatever-I-need feels almost too good to be true sometimes. Cons It took me some time to figure out how to use it properly. I spent way many hours watching YouTube tutorials and still felt lost for the first few weeks. Sometimes it gets sluggish when I have too much stuff in there, and using it on my phone is kind of a pain compared to the desktop version. Also, I definitely went overboard at first trying to make everything perfect instead of just, you know, using it. The challenge is building boards that are visually pleasing and functional on the backend. Pros The options and opportunities are endless! I also like how it integrates with so many other applications, making it a strong database hub. Cons The learning curve is STEEP! While I may be able to do and make almost anything, it's a bit daunting to actually start building. Cons I have found notion to be a great alternative to things like GoogleDocs and Word, but ONLY if the whole team is on board with using it together.
