### "Good to use overall for all Python developer"

September 23, 2019

5.0

Pros

\- Completely free - Nice UI, good project tree visualization - Easy to use

Cons

\- Nothing really, sometimes if you use multiple version of python, then some modification needed. Other than that, it's probably the best IDE for Python developer now

### "Great editor for Python developers."

July 22, 2021

5.0

Good IDE/Editor choice for Python. The Professional edition supports almost all frameworks.

Pros

Pycharm is available in community edition and professional edition. The community edition is free of cost. It is the best tool for writing and debugging Python codes.

Cons

It seems to be a little bit slow when there are two or more projects to load and takes much time to start.

### "The best IDE for Python programming language"

April 3, 2020

5.0

I liked it crazily despite of few things I feel like missing.

Pros

First and foremost, JetBrains is providing a community edition as well as a professional premium edition. I liked this community version. For small developers like me, its essential to have one like this. It has a Terminal, Console, output Window and many many features.

Cons

i) I was using Visual Studio and it has a Solution Explorer, Properties Explorer, Version Controller Explorer. These naming convention is a bit efficient way to understand the options pretty easily. In PyCharm this naming convention isn't followed ii) I am not sure whether PyCharm also supports for other Programming languages but I would love it if they do so.

It wasn't the best IDE for specifically Python.

### "One of the best product of Jetbrains"

May 3, 2021

3.0

We have several projects involving PHP at the workplace where we are developing. We develop these projects using Pycharm.

Pros

Quite useful like all Jetbrains products. It offers a lot of convenience for software developers. Debug operations have many features such as gitlab integration.

Cons

I haven't seen any negative aspects so far. Also, I didn't have any questions. It just occasionally consumes a lot of ram

### "You're a beginner in programmer and you're learning Python? This is what you're looking for."

January 22, 2021

4.0

Good for the beginner.

Pros

If you're a beginner in programmer and wanted to write simple codes in Python language, this app is the perfect for the beginning. You can also install some packages and use it when becoming more professional.

Cons

When you start to learn programming, 2 programs recommended to use to run tge code in Python, are Pycharm and Jupiter Notebook. In Jupiter notebook you can run the program after every line, in Pycharm you can ran only the whole code. To run only some parts you should use Debugger.

### "Great Python IDE"

April 5, 2020

5.0

PyCharm is great if you want to code in an in-depth python IDE. I find that for most of my development, VSCode is my preferred text-editor, but when it comes to IDEs in general, I find JetBrains to provide great tools. Their free, community version is good too!

Pros

\- free for students - easy enough to set up - provides a visual way to install pip packages - relatively fast

Cons

\- absolutely drains my battery (Macbook pro 15", 2016) - slower than VS code when it comes to shortcode snippets - kind of big

Reason for choosing PyCharm

Great, free trial. (And the pro version is free for students)

It has been a great experience using PyCharm, it has let me create various projects that have been of help to me and my team.

Pros

Pycharm has made it easy for me to create and arrange code projects. It makes it easy to navigate through my different files and also create new files without struggling to know the file extension.

Cons

Pycharm is a huge software that drains a lot of my PC power once it is not plugged in.

### "For experienced as well as new users"

May 30, 2019

5.0

Pros

Very intuitive to use, lots of automated tasks integrated in the tool, makes it very easy for a newcomer to become efficient at developing in Python. For experienced users, complete IDE with all the necessary integration to build great software alone or with a team.

Cons

When encountering technical issues with missing libraries or updates failing, the interface gets in the way and some system administrator skills are required to fix it. Fortunately, there is ton of help on Internet to find solutions as this IDE is very widely used.

### "Quality has a price"

August 13, 2021

5.0

Pros

Here are the main reasons I use PyCharm : - No need to tinker for it to work - Easy and fast to use - Complete for Python and Django - Features included (format, autocompletion, Team working) - Fallback version when licence is over

Cons

Having a complete tool implies that it can be heavier than average for the system (>1Go on ram for a little project)

we did a machine learning study for my graduation project and I used pycharm for it. The graphics and the display of the templates are very high quality

### "From novice to expert in PyCharm"

December 23, 2021

4.0

We were looking for a way to write and distribute small Python apps in the organization, and PyCharm is a go-to product for this. The power of Python and the ease of use of PyCharm enabled me to do it all by myself.

Pros

Ease of use and broad community support.

Cons

The error recognition sytem should be improved some - it's sometimes a bit difficult to run a proper check when thousands of false positives show up.

It is a good program to start.

Pros

I started coding in Python during the beginning of the pandemic and PyCharm was one of the best softwares for make it real, it has a lot of shortcuts, add ons, tools and tips for developers that makes coding easier

Cons

There are other programs that give the opportunity to know the constants and variables to the user and in some cases that is very important for debugging.
