### "Best for Python Programming"

May 4, 2026

4.0

I still prefer PyCharm over other Python Programming IDEs because my experience so far has been error-free. When I code, it shows me the clues on how to edit my script. I also commend that I can install built-in plugins like Flet GUI Framework. What amazed me was when I used the ready-to-use libraries. Python Programming is made simple with PyCharm.

Pros

The installation process is standard and does not require complex technical skills. That's why I choose this over other Python Programming IDEs.

Cons

It does not work at its optimal performance when I use my old laptop. However, on a well-maintaned computer equipment, it runs with minimal inconvenience.

PyCharm was my first IDE when I started Python; it has a bit of a steep learning curve, but if you just need to run a Python script, it's easy to work with.

Pros

Built-in support for Python Programming Language

Cons

The professional version costs a lot compared to other IDEs

### "The Ultimate IDE for Python"

February 2, 2025

5.0

I've tried different IDEs in my Python journey, but PyCharm was an ultimate tool for my every need. The user interface is very convenient, you can debug your code easily using the colored keywords. There are so many settings and changes you can implement to adapt the software for your specific needs. I think JetBrains did a really great job for creating ultimate IDEs for every need.

Pros

PyCharm every aspect is absolutely great. One of the biggest advantages of it is that you can install Python Packages directly to your project, so they are not mixed with other projects you are working on.

Cons

One major thing I miss in PyCharm is that the community edition doesn't include tools for Data Science (Jupyter-type experience).

### "Potente IDE para Python"

Pros

### "good software to python programing"

December 23, 2024

4.0

I learned programming using python and pycharm. It is a great program to use and with some help it can be a great tool.

Pros

the best thing about pycharm is the simple way to use it for python programing, that includes installing libraries, creating virtual environments and making easy to maintain a good coding habits

Cons

The worst thing about pycharm is that to use it well and take full advantage of this program, the learning curve is worse than other programs, this means that it takes more time to use it properly.

### "Mejor herramienta para trabajar con pyhton. "

### "Specialized python development comes with perks"

June 12, 2024

5.0

For python it is great. Lots of tools for development and code review. Integrates with other Jet Brains tools.

Pros

The specialized nature of the ide really shines through with so many features that make it great to work with python code bases. The only problem is that you will find it hard to give up once you use it.

Cons

I had to rewrite/redo environment variable and settings I had set up in VS code because they are input into the UI not kept in a setting file.

### "Pycharm, an IDE built for developers by developers."

August 14, 2023

5.0

Using Pycharm is a joy and a huge productivity boost. When mastered well you'll have no reason to pick another tool for your Python development even in this era of AI tools.

Pros

Pycharm is an intelligent code editor that offers a modern GUI with tons of customisations that make for a fruitful and efficient developer experience. It has a generous pricing model that places it within reach of all types of developers from the student, the hobbyist to the professional.

Cons

For old machines, it can be a memory hog. On large projects the indexing can be slow which is a pain.

### "Using pycharm for web application"

April 2, 2023

5.0

I have a very pleasant experience and above all, I learned a lot from this IDE and its different programming languages, so that I can use it in future projects that I have to do and future goals to achieve.

Pros

Generally, what I liked the most about pycharm is its user-friendly interface, allowing users to introduce themselves more quickly and efficiently to develop with this IDE and with the different programming languages that are found, also thanks to the fact that it had the paid student version. Thanks to the university, this version allowed me to access all the features of this IDE.

Cons

Negative points I almost did not find, simply to say that sometimes this IDE is not well optimized and tends to get slow and even close, but that already depends on many factors of its own or exempt from pycharm as such.

Reason for choosing PyCharm

By general recommendation of a teacher and by the student license granted by the university.

### "Pycharm is one of the best IDEs for python coding currently available."

February 20, 2023

5.0

Overall, Pycharm makes your code developement easy, fast, and enjoyable. It is a great and inexpensive IDE for code modification, debugging, and compiling.

Pros

Pycharm helps me to improve the efficiency and quality of my Python development. The most important thing about Pycharm is that it is not heavy on your system. It is supported in Linux, MAc,a nd sindows. I have used it in Linux and windows, and I did not find any dislikes. I always use Pycharm to edit my code, compile it, and debug it if needed. It offers library suggestions. Pycharm is great to save time while performing code developement.

Cons

There are two versions of Pycharm; a free (community) version and a paid (business) version. The paid version is needed for higher level codings like machine learning models. I have been using the free version for electronics hardware coding and I find it suitable for that. However, the paid version features a lot more learning models and modules. They can also improve the error statements; for me the errors after compiling the code are not quite clear. The other dislike I have is regarding the memory usage; whenever I open 3 python projects at the same time my PC turns out to be extremely slow. I would also suggest Pycharm team to consider the feature of integrating Notepad applciation with Pycharm.

### "One IDE for every application"

March 16, 2022

5.0

With PyCharm I have written the code of my bachelor thesis, my first job, my master thesis and now my PhD thesis. I would choose PyCharm again and again, because everything is really available and if that is not the case, plugins can be added easily.

Pros

Especially since Python is the most used programming language in the area of data science, PyCharm is ideal to support these scientific processes through various data science plugins. Especially with regard to the possibility that plugins can be integrated, that these plugins are developed by a lively community, and that PyCharm enables their integration in an uncomplicated way, PyCharm appears to be the ideal IDE. Furthermore, PyCharm offers an all-round package of useful functionalities and comfort features with the necessary distance to the developer to support but not to override and increase the workload.

Cons

There are no real counter-arguments, as PyCharm is self-contained at its core and guarantees just the right level of convenience features and necessities for smooth operations. However, the main feature of PyCharm is the integration of plugins. These can then lead to problems accordingly, whereby these errors are not introduced by PyCharm but by external developers.

Switched from

[Notepad++](https://www.capterra.com/p/185965/Notepad/)[Visual Studio Code](https://www.capterra.com/p/186634/Visual-Studio-Code/)

Compared to Notepad++, PyCharm is more versatile and clearly structured. For Visual Studio Code the offered functions are comparable, but VSC is more suitable for the development of text documents, but not like PyCharm for the development of code.

### "This is JetBrains' gift to software engineers and Developers around the world !"

September 19, 2021

5.0

My overall experience has been great thus far. I believe I will continue to use it in my professional career. I would absolutely recommend this product for any software engineer, machine learning engineer or even a data scientist who wants to do some scripting work.

Pros

I have been using this IDE for a short time now. I must say it extremely amazing. I love how convenient and easy it is to use. The layout is fantastic. Having everything present in a single place like that definitely makes my life much easier as an engineer .The code editing tools are amazing, the code improvement recommendation system that they have is definitely a plus to have, sometimes the IDE recommends me to do certain actions I would have never have thought of on my own. Also it helps finish my code blocks automatically which is great. I also like how I could split the screen multiple parts fairly easily for code review. I could go on and on. I would definitely recommend Pycharm or any JetBrains product for that matter. They work incredibly hard and it shows in their work. In short Pycharm is awesome and I recommend you start using it.

Cons

I don't have any major critiques of the IDE but I would say perhaps having a co-pilot would be an incredible improvement to make it an even better IDE. Other than that I have no issues with it.

### "Is PyCharm worth the money"

July 19, 2021

5.0

On concluding what I saw as a coder and hope others relate with me is that PyCharm is good software, integrated development environment because of its easy to be used by amateurs configuration, but it has its own cons and that can be minimized with regular use and if you are a professional this software is for your company.

Pros

Are you a coder/developer and love programming? But we know that anything becomes boring after some time, PyCharm does the job of making it fun. But it's not free! This Having this easy and up to the mark.PyCharm Professional version is made for Web development like Django however you will not see that in the community version. Moreover PyCharm Professional is more tight / out-of-the-box integration with other Python frameworks, libraries. A coder will get me

Cons

The professional version is a bit expensive for individual programmers. The community version or free version is idle for python development only and you cannot use other programming languages or make projects plus it takes huge space which corrodes the execution of code.

### "Best tool for Python development"

July 17, 2021

5.0

PyCharm makes it easy to get started on Python learning and app development. It is well documented and you will find every thing you need for developing under this one tool. The problems tab is very useful in finding coding errors and warnings according to PEP8 standards.

Pros

PyCharm is the best IDE for Python development as it fits well with Pythonic way of coding by offering built-in terminal and console for interpreting code. Git and Docker integrations makes it very easy to manage code versions and deploy applications. PyCharm can also work with Jupyter Notebooks which is extremely convenient when your code involves data analysis and scientific research. The recently introduced 'Code with me' feature takes collaboration to the next level.

Cons

PyCharm is a heavy software and requires a decent amount of compute power. It might hang or cause trouble when running in low compute power devices like Raspberry Pi. Also at this time (version 2021.1.3), the git integration doesn't work well when your project is tagged under an organization.

### "Best Python Specific IDE"

June 9, 2022

4.0

I use PyCharm every day to build and maintain Python and Django applications.

Pros

It’s easy to use, configure, customize, and get started with. Out of the box, it’s configured in a very usable way but offers great flexibility per user on how they want it to be set up. The plug-ins available are vast and allows further customization beyond what the core product could ever offer.

Cons

It’s built on Java, so it can be a batter and system resource hog at times. Optimizing what folders it ignores so it doesn’t re-index all the time is important for bigger projects.

### "Almost perfect software for perfect programming"

August 10, 2022

5.0

I think PyCharm is a very useful software that I can recommend to many of my friends. It helps a lot for programmers who are not yet on sure footing, but more experienced users can also benefit from working in this software. I can recommend it to people who would like to learn to program or to those who do this activity at an amateur level and do not want to spend money on a software that helps them.

Pros

The best thing is that the software knows many programming languages and thus can help users to write the program. I think this is a huge help for programmers, but also for all other users in writing their codes.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about the software is its slow load time. This is confusing for me when using the program.

### "The "go to" IDE for Python developpement"

June 21, 2023

5.0

PyCharm gave me an extensive range of features which was required for neural network architecture. PyCharm has mutliple tools to help write SOLID code.PyCharm's code navigation capabilities are exceptional, allowing me to easily navigate through complex projects, locate definitions, and find usages. The IDE also allowed me to easily restructure my code, making it effortless to improve code readability and maintainability.

Pros

PyCharm has the strongest base of any python IDE. It offers every possible development tool and more. Its code formatting and debugging are intuitive as well as full of functionnalities.

Cons

PyCharm can be quite resource-intensive, especially for larger projects. It may require a significant amount of memory and CPU power, which can slow down the overall performance of your system. Altough this requires quite a massive project.PyCharm offers a wide range of features and functionalities, which can make it overwhelming for beginners or those who are new to Python development. The extensive feature set may take some time to fully grasp and utilize effectively.

### "What is the best Python editor in the world?"

July 13, 2022

5.0

I became a fan of PaySharm because it offers a lot of great features that save a lot of time, I advise everyone to use it for a general reason I loved it is that it has an auto-save feature, so that if the device suddenly crashes, your project will be safe.

Pros

I learned the basics of the Python language from simple editors like Spyder, and after I had enough experience, I started moving to a bigger and more professional editor, so I chose pycham and started to delve into it because it has stronger, more in-depth and powerful features, it is easy to use and has an easy and simple user interface. The program allows code analysis and error detection very quickly and has a powerful graphical debugger, and the important thing is that it works on data science applications in the Anaconda library. Baycharm provides multiple colors for the programming entities and thus provides comfort in work, and this is known as (syntax highlighting). One of the powerful features that I liked is Code Navigation, which is one of the features that allows navigation between classes, thus helping to save time and effort It can be used on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows.

Cons

Performance issues may occur when running on CPUs because it requires a lot of memory space. Sometimes it takes a long time to download, also the most important and wonderful features are available in paid versions only

### "Why Pycharm is the Best Python Editor ?"

April 2, 2022

5.0

I've been using it for a few months now and feel comfortable working with it, I started in university when I started learning Python it was with a different editor which is Spyder, but when I finished the basics and started progressing, everyone advised me to use Pycharm.

Pros

I am going to talk now and tell you why this editor is my favorite among the other editors in the Python language. You should know first that it is an advanced editor than the other editors . So why is it better? This is due to the fact that it provides you with some tools that will save you time when writing the code, and as we programmers know the importance of time for us, I used it for months and I am now very comfortable working with it, I spent a year before that in the Spyder editor, after that I decided to move forward and use other editors, and after going deeper, everyone told me that PyCharm is a superb editor, and indeed, after what I personally used, I was convinced why it is so. It is also nice that there is a free and paid version of it for those who want to get other advantages, the editor is working on Linux / macOS / Windows. I also advise beginners to start using it, for the beginning is to take the basics and not build large projects, if you use the editor ؛PyCharm or the editor Spyder will not differentiate this topic.

Cons

One of the negatives that I encountered is the slowness when running, not very slow, but it is rather noticeable, also when using it for the first time you need to adjust the default settings unlike the Spyder editor, its use is direct and very easy.

My overal experience with PyCharm is excellent. It's not easy to find a IDE which is directly focused on Python.

Pros

I am frequently writing Python code for manipulating the Linux environments. Pycharm is specialized in Python and helps a lot with the Python code. It has very simple and powerful UI for developing Python scripts.

Cons

PyCharm has a lot of plugins that helps Python development. I'd be very happy if they add more plugins.
