### "Best IDE for Python developers"

July 28, 2021

5.0

There are other editors, that can be used for quick code editing, but in terms of real apps development and managing the whole environment around, PyCharm is the best tool.

Pros

Full-featured Python support: syntax highlighting, navigation thorough the code, tips and tricks. There are multiple plugins that can take experience for another level. The support for docker, Kubernetes and databases is a huge plus and gives as one tool to manage & use all the developer's environment tools.

Cons

It is pretty "big" and memory consumable, but there is a reason for that. Sometimes takes some time to launch.

### "Number one IDE for python development"

Best IDE with complete neat features for python development.

Pros

I like how I can properly debug my code, install and uninstall my packages, the user interface is outstanding simple and user friendly.

Cons

It is the best IDE for me so I do not really dislike anything.

### "Quality IDE, some performance issues"

December 8, 2019

4.0

After the initial learning curve of the program itself PyCharm sped up the rate at which I got through projects fairly significantly, time I would have to spend time poking through clunky menus or on Google trying to find answers specific to IDLE was now spent on the project itself. The more modern UI and small additions such as the project sidebar made things significantly easier and also more enjoyable to look at, as well as the darker theme making longer work periods much less tolling due to less eye strain.

Pros

The program is incredibly easy to get started with and use, on top of being quite feature rich. Coming from IDLE the difference was night and day, where it lacks useful features such as autocomplete suggestions, PyCharm provides those and many more. Performance is perfectly acceptable during coding and testing, with no significant issues or shortcomings to speak of.

Cons

Some things are hard to get a grasp on without prior knowledge of the program, such as setting up interpreters, mainly because of the setting being someone hard to find within the program's overall settings menu. On top of that the settings menu itself can sometimes feel sluggish in comparison to the rest of the program, however this is fairly minor and not a massive setback.

### "Excellent IDE for Python"

January 31, 2020

5.0

I'm excited every time when I discover some new tool to use by working with PyCharm.

Pros

PyCharm allows to work on several projects in different virtual environments. Integration to GitHub makes easier to commit changes and see the changes in current project. It makes my work faster.

Cons

I've used as well community as professional versions. For me there was no such big difference between them, but after changing to professional version sometimes there were issues while opening the new repos.

### "Jetbrains did an excellent job"

April 26, 2022

5.0

I needed to assist with scripting changes on our platform and python was the go to language. PyCharm allowed me to setup my environment and begin making changes within 30 mins. The setup is fast and it is has a sandbox using venv allowing testing straight from the built in terminal.

Pros

If you are a fan of Jetbrains products - this is the same look, feel and behaviour as all other products. This basically allows you to get up to speed quickly with python and dive right in.

Cons

I really don't like the IDE preferences tab. It is hard to find items and I keep resorting to using Google to lookup features I want to change/adjust.

### "Pycharm is the best IDE i have seen."

May 25, 2019

5.0

Being a Python developer I use PyCharm regularly to code. And we can integrate version control with it like GitLab.

Pros

It provides so many shortcuts to work. And we can install packages using PyCharm easily using settings. It has terminal so we no need to go for another terminal.

Cons

Nowadays Pycharm is taking more loading time.

### "All\_in\_one\_package.py "

January 16, 2020

5.0

I learnt Python and created several applications through PyCharm. If you need to make really small projects you can use Spyder or Jupyter but for big ones, PyCharm is preferred.

Pros

This software has everything, I repeat, everything to make a small python project to a big commercially acceptable projects. I consider PyCharm as a apex level software for creating applications. You could also make various other stuff relating to bash scripts et cetera. It's engine is really powerful with a dedicated terminal console. "Do not forget to add environment path variables for the console to work"

Cons

You need decent enough laptop configuration for it to work since is a kind of heavy software. Normally I use it via 2GB Nvidia graphic card. But, 8GB RAM or 4 GB graphic card is advisable for smooth functioning.

### "Just works, makes you a better coder"

April 6, 2021

5.0

Awesome. It makes coding a lot easier than any other IDE I've used. Whenever I've found myself thinking "I wish I could just do X.." after poking around in the IDE a bit I find the feature I was hoping for already exists there.

Pros

It's free, feature packed, and pretty intuitive. It gives feedback on formatting on common mistakes to result in clean, sane, code.

Cons

It has a lot of complex features that can take a while to learn, but it was not far off the mark from any other IDE I've used.

### "Great one for python users with very few limitations"

June 20, 2021

4.0

Pros

When it comes to python programming and a little knowledge about Pycharm, it formats python code and provides an ease to debug line by line be setting up breakpoints. The biggest advantage I see that the intermediate output variable values are stored and can be retrieved after the first run, it updates on every run which means an annoying print statement is not required while debugging code. I think its great for debugging than many of the other IDEs in the market.

Cons

Slightly complicated to use and It takes alot of disk space and if there is need to program in any other language (which is not python) then there are usually compiling issues. For java i.e, PyCharm includes JetBrains runtime which needs more disk usage as I see and it does support java but in the end at the cost of disk space, still there could be many compiling problems. Handling of any other language than python, Pycharm is not the best choice. There are also so many warnings (different levels) which makes debugging hard for a new user, who is not known to these levels. Sometimes it also happens that even python code is not formatted which requires saving file with the right extension. There are also themes available which shouldn't be included in the main package. It also covers disk space. They should be optional in my opinion.

### "the best option for python codes"

August 23, 2019

5.0

Where I work we maintain a python bot to check prices and warn on instant messaging applications, and we use the IDE to code and test locally, and it makes it a lot easier.

Pros

The program works very well with Virtualenvs, has a complete interface, which initially may scare you, but soon you get familiar and thank you for having so many buttons. In addition to the classic brand integrations with git, where you can pull, commit, push and resolve conflicts in the IDE itself.

Cons

No doubt the main problem is the cost, it has a high cost, Another thing that can be a problem, but not so serious is the delay to open the first time.

### "One platform to perform everything "

August 31, 2022

4.0

Pros

One of the pros for me is the availability of different tools such as Anaconda, Kite, and IPhyton. Moreover, debugging, auto-completion suggestions, and database tools are also features that distinguish PyCharm from other tools. It is much easier to create virtual environments with PyCharm.

Cons

PyCharm takes up more storage space as compared to other tools. Sometimes the launch of the application takes some time. The addition of a basic database in the community edition would be a good step.

### "About Pycharm"

July 24, 2022

4.0

I am very much satisfied with this tool. Especially, at the initial stage, it is very good. Moreover, it is also compatible with anaconda and other software.

Pros

This product is very helpful for python development. I have been using it for machine learning projects. So, I'll surely recommend beginners to use this tool for Machine learning

Cons

It is very complicated and slow. There are many options, which sometimes make it difficult to locate the required options.

### "Pycharm for Developers"

August 5, 2019

5.0

When I build test cases in python this is the tool I go to first. There are plenty of other options out there but this does everything I need it to do and once setup a lot of the mundane tasks are automated.

Pros

It is a comprehensive set of tools to build an IDE that looks the way you want it. There is a lot of help in pin pointing any errors in your coding. The amount of available extensions is large The jetbrains Edu plugin is available for this product for those just starting out, with excellent tutorials.

Cons

If you just need to test a few lines of code I found this too cumbersome and reverted to using IDLE.

### "Greatest Python IDE"

September 26, 2019

5.0

Using it to develop and test the backend for our iOS application. PyCharm is a time saver!

Pros

Intuitive and packed with a lot of features. Remote debugging, Python environment managing, support for Anaconda, Flask, Django and many more!

Cons

It’s not much that I don’t like in using PyCharm, but if I’d really need to find something it’s that it’s a bit slow at some points (indexing, package skeleton parsing), but nothing too disturbing.

### "Excellent python development environment"

April 17, 2022

5.0

We used PyCharm for a python development project for migrating data to a newer environment and performing statistical analysis on it. The data source was Microsoft D35, and the data was moved to the Azure cloud environment. PyCharm was very efficient in handling the codes, it was flexible for integrating changes regularly, scaling up was possible as well. The overall development work was carried on smoothly owing to the huge number of features and potential of PyCharm. We carried on statistical analysis and graphing in PyCharm to extract insights from the data.

Pros

Intuitive and intelligent navigation Develop large projects with ease with all features and functionalities available Simple debugging, integration with third-party applications Supports scientific libraries like Matplotlib, Scipy for machine learning work Supports App engine for web development (professional version) Supports a wide range of programming languages Allows connecting with professional python frameworks like flask, django for development work

Cons

Improving optimal memory allocation PyCharm can take up more space than other similar applications which could slow down the development work Getting started needs time since a lot of features are packed together

Very positive, PyCharm has helped me organize my projects, test them and be very efficient writing code.

Pros

The software works very well, and has a lot of integrations that allow things like querying a database, setting a Django project and others a very simple and efficient task.

Cons

Sadly, now and then, new updates will come that include bugs that will render the software useless, forcing you to downgrade.

### "Top IDE for Python Development"

September 5, 2019

5.0

Using PyCharm has significantly improved my production when it comes to writing code. It is so much easier to see mistakes before I even test things. If you are still coding in a text editor, now is the time to give PyCharm a try!

Pros

Syntax highlighting is a huge blessing. I love that there is a built in dev environment for testing. It handle remote repositories (e.g. GitHub) well. The refactor option is also incredibly handy when you need to rename something!

Cons

There is a small learning curve, but it's worthwhile. I think the only other complaint I have is that when there is a conflict in repositories, you have to hunt to find/fix the differences. It would be nice if PyCharm could identify them for you and then give you an option on which one you want to overwrite.
