### "pyCharm "

February 9, 2021

5.0

I have used PyCharm for several years while completing coding projects as a PhD student. I have it customized with a white background, which i prefer. I have used it as the IDE while I created an agents based model. I was able to run multiple simulations at once and it was easy to install and work with a fairly niche package.

Pros

PyCharm is my preferred python IDE. I like saving my work into the "projects" folders, and frequently using the debug feature. Additionally, it has good compatibility with version control software.

Cons

PyCharm works better since I upgraded my laptop. It is pretty computationally intensive, and you need a very good computer to run it.

### "Ideal IDE for Python developer"

March 31, 2021

5.0

I do not need Django support, so for my simple needs, this is an ideal free IDE. Paid version is good for commercial use

Pros

Quite fast Supports the most latest python features Supports a lot of python frameworks Integrated terminal

Cons

Sometimes syntax highlighting works buggy and these issues are not fixed for months. virtualenv support sometimes doesn't detect changes, so I need to rechoose the correct python version

### "Best Python IDE out there"

November 6, 2019

5.0

Great experience especially after using Anaconda for a while beforehand. Pycharm is better.

Pros

Pycharm has everything you need to code in Python. The added terminal within the IDE is a huge plus for those who do development in Windows instead of a Mac.

Cons

The IDE is large because there is so much functionality. This means it takes a long time to load and also to index everything.

### "Si empiezas con Phyton es tu editor indispensable"

May 20, 2022

5.0

Reason for choosing PyCharm

Debido a que este fue el editor con el que aprendi a programar en Phyton, mi instructor lo recomendó y desde ahi no he probado ningún otro.

### "Best Python IDE"

April 27, 2021

4.0

Pros

Very easy to get started as the basic functionality of a code editor is self-explanatory. It has all the basic features, such as code completion, syntax highlighting, refactoring, project specific virtual environment/interpreter, debugger, VCS, etc. It's also powerful enough to build complex, large scale, collaborative projects with live edit, Python web frameworks, scientific tools, etc. For most users, the community edition should have most features you need. If you are working on data science projects, professional edition has got you covered with a bunch of tools to support those tasks.

Cons

It is memory intensive. The load time is pretty lengthy as well. Similarly, the debugger is sluggish compared to other IDEs.

### "An excellent programming development experience on every day of use"

June 11, 2021

4.0

Pros

Pycharm is faster to develop current APIs using Python, and it is the greatest IDE for Python out there. It's much easier to install packages using pip, extend functionality as needed using plugins, and disable them when they're not needed. In addition, it has a wide range of customization layers that allow us to adapt the development environment to our tastes and need. In general, it is a great tool for code development in the Python language.

Cons

The only negative is that it is heavier than other IDEs, which consumes more memory and may cause a decrement of functionality in low memory settings; nevertheless, in that case, it may be preferable to use a lighter IDE.

### "PyCharm: The Best IDE for Python"

April 5, 2021

5.0

PyCharm is probably the best IDE for Python projects as it has so many Python orientated features. Personally, I only use PyCharm for the occasional Python project and I am very satisfied with that. Overall, I would recommend PyCharm if you mainly code Python and you want a powerful IDE for that.

Pros

By far the best feature of PyCharm is the smart code assistance which drastically assists developers in improving their program, especially Python ones. For example, there are quality checks, intelligent refactoring, framework support and even testing aid. This really helps me cut down on the amount of debugging I have to do. Another thing I love about PyCharm is the fact that you can customise the user interface to your preference. Furthermore, there is a respectable amount of plugins available for enhancing PyCharm greatly.

Cons

Although there is a community version the full featured PyCharm costs up to $20 a month which is rather steep. The community version is actually restricted Python. PyCharm is also quite bulky in terms of IDE's and it is not beginner friendly, due to the amount of setting up PyCharm can take.

### "Dedicated to Python"

December 12, 2019

4.0

So far my experience with PyCharm has been entirely positive. While I haven't explored every nook and cranny of it, as previously mentioned, I can vouch for its solidity as an excellent editor for the intermediate Pythonista who wants to cut their teeth on larger projects.

Pros

PyCharm looks like it's perfect for most any project in Python and, I admit, have only begun to scratch the surface of its features (mostly I've been using it for data naalysis programs, but it also has features for developers creating user interfaces, web applications, etc). It's feature rich, but it didn't feel as overwhelming to me as some other full-fledged IDEs. Maybe it's because I'm older or maybe it's just better designed. There's something to be said for picking one thing and doing it well. That's precisely what Pycharm does with Python.

Cons

On my laptop PyCharm was pretty slow. It was a lower end computer and about two years old. While it's not as much of a RAM hog as Android Studio (then again, what is?) it's not friendly to older computers.

### "Best Python IDE"

September 8, 2022

5.0

overall it 's a positive experience I think it may be the best IDE I used for python development

Pros

With Pycharm you get all the features you'd expect from an IDE plus some cool Python features, as well as a hidden shortcuts tooltip every time you open the app, Another advantage is its integration with Github.

Cons

uses a lot of the computer resources or at least more than normal.

### "You can do better (and worse, too)"

July 19, 2019

2.0

I don't like it very much. Interacting with PyCharm (in other ways than just writing code) is frequently slow and confusing. The last couple of times I opened it, I immediately closed it and opened VSCode instead. I keep it installed anyway, as it did help me quite a bit back when I had to build a compiler from the ground up. If you really, REALLY need an IDE, then I guess you could do worse than PyCharm.

Pros

Easy package searching and installation once the initial setup is done. It has plenty of debugging features, and it's handy to keep track of a large project.

Cons

It's not exactly lightweight. Using it to install Python on my Windows machine turned out to be quite a hassle. I've been using it for years, and while it's decent for medium to large projects, there is really no reason to use it if all you need is a short script.

### "Pycharm Review"

April 26, 2021

5.0

Pycharm is the best IDE I have ever used for my python projects. The debugging feature makes it easier to use. Similarly, the database integration we can use is one the best features pycharm has.

Pros

Integrating any databases within the IDE, using the debugging feature and using features such as pandas DataFrame.

Cons

Least thing I liked is the RAM size this IDE uses. It makes the PC hang sometimes.

### "Learning Python with PyCharm"

November 24, 2021

5.0

This software helped me fall in love with Python as a coding language.

Pros

Incredibly easy to learn how to use this IDE, i started with an online IDE and quickly moved to PyCharm to allow me to store and recall my projects when off line, Easy to code in with lots of help resources, then to share out to GitHub for grading.

Cons

Shifting the libraries was a little troublesome at times, having to open and close the project folders to get the changes to take was the only irritant though.

Pros

PyCharm is good tool to use if you are developing in python language. It provides neat feedback on code quality and highlights things you might otherwise miss.

Pros

PyCharm's integration with popular version control systems like Git allows developers to easily manage code versions and collaborate with other developers.PyCharm's testing framework helps developers write and run tests for their code, ensuring that the code is functional and reliable

Cons

### "A Great Python IDE"

June 4, 2021

5.0

I can easily write code in PYcharm than with other python IDE's, I feel comfortable with the layout of the user interface and makes it fun and easy to code in PYcharm.

Pros

When I started learning to program I was first introduced to python. Pycharm IDE is the best Python IDE, when I first used it, I thought to myself programming is easy, It's has a simple user interface, which I understood at first glance. You can easily know if the code you are writing will be executable, it highlights all the errors for you so as a beginner you can easily know when you are wrong, it provides suggestions and tips as you are working. You can download third-party libraries that make code easier to write since you don't have to write everything from scratch you can simply import from a library and make a few adjustments.

Cons

You need to have a better understanding of how to code in python language in order to be able to use it effectively. Tutorials from youtube and ebooks helped me in my early days.
