### "Great way to keep things organized in your Classroom!"

May 13, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google classroom has been a very helpful addition to our school tools making submission and grading (even with comments) super easy!

Pros

Google Classroom has many useful features and options for teachers/students from assignments to announcements to discussion. Integrations to our Gradelink system makes it so teachers can grade in Classroom and it auto-transfers to our SIS. Extremely helpful! The process to return digital submissions can feel a little arduous but once learned is worth the extra step.

Cons

The assignment return process. It seems a bit much but is a necessary step to getting students their files back again.

### "Googles Classroom"

June 6, 2026

4.0

It is simple and can be adjusted to fit the applicable needs of a classroom and is able to merge into some of our existing applications for school

Pros

It is easy to use and one can set up the grading scale how they would like it. The options are very simple.

Cons

It sometimes crashes when I have been inputting too much information. The it’s speed is not always the fastest

Alternatives considered

### "Great in theory, awful for actual classroom use."

December 20, 2024

2.0

Awful. Parents can't see grades. Students get confused about where to find content. It doesn't automatically make a copy of docs for students.

Pros

I love how easily I can link it to Google Docs and how I can store feedback comments.

Cons

The ways in which to organize content is greatly lacking. The gradebook glitches and there are minimal ways to grade/label content that has been submitted.

### "Helps with setting and assessing work."

April 25, 2026

5.0

A useful addition to support the teacher’s administration and organisation of a class’ work, especially homework.

Pros

Ability to set tasks for pupils and view what they have done quickly and easily. Pupils can access and work on tasks without issue.

Cons

Sometimes the way this is accessed through Hwb in Wales is awkward but the software itself is useful.

### "A Practical LMS that Gets the Job Done"

February 27, 2026

4.0

Classroom is a streamlined platform that is ideal for schools looking for a free, easy to use LMS that is tied into Google's ecosystem. It is particularly strong for straightforward assignment management and basic student-teacher communication. However, if your needs include advanced analytics, rich built in interaction tools, or highly customizable workflows, Classroom may feel a bit limited.

Pros

The interface is clean and intuitive. Teachers can set up classes, post assignments, and organize materials quickly without a steep learning curve. Our school already utilizes Google Drive, Docs, etc. so it is a natural fit. You also cannot beat the price (free), which gives it a leg up on competitors.

Cons

Its simplicity is also its biggest weakness. It is lacking in advanced functionality such as possessing a less robust gradebook and limited customization.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Google Classroom

### "Google Classroom is a Helpful Online Tool for Classroom"

April 4, 2025

5.0

Overall, Google Classroom is a great online tool to organize and release information. It is helpful for all the students to have an online copy, and keep track of what we did in class each day if they were absent.

Pros

The announcement tab is very streamline and is where my students get most of their information. The classwork tab is helpful to organize topics and units.

Cons

I don't like how hard it is to input marks for each student. I wish there was also a way to organize the people into groups as well for a group assignment online. (like the Canvas feature)

Alternatives considered

### "Good app could be better "

May 29, 2025

5.0

Good but sometimes difficult. The updates to the app have made them worse. Sometimes the app is a pain to use and more frustrating than anything else.

Pros

Love good classroom. Great for uploading and reviewing homework and updating students on events. Love the app.

Cons

Video uploads are terrible. After an update it has made sharing and viewing video uploads impossible.

Reason for choosing Google Classroom

I have experience with jackrabbit and how it works.

### "Google Classroom is a must for schools"

May 14, 2025

5.0

Positive overall experience--especially considering that it is free and user-friendly. Even luddites find it useful.

Pros

Ease of use for parent, teachers and students alike-will change how you think about LMS because of it's ease of implementation.

Cons

Occasional glitches are annoying and can be disruptive to classes, but Google seems to be take guidance from teachers.

### "Google Classroom Archive Downsides"

February 8, 2025

5.0

It's seamless for when you use it, but I feel like it adds extra clutter to my workspace in the long run. I don't need things from 5 years ago in an archive. If I do go in to a class from years past, it just seems a big jumble of old classes. I wish I could nest them or something (similar to email folders). Maybe you can, but it doesn't seem intuitive.

Pros

I really like the ability to add kids to a class and send out one link and have everything covered. It cuts way down on communication with kids and parents. Most times I don't even send anything out; they know the classroom after they enter the verification code, and they can go to the page on their own to see what it is that I have added.

Cons

I don't like how it never deleted your old classes but instead archives them forever. You can hide them, but I'd like the ability to just delete them.

### "Google Classroom is User-Friendly"

July 4, 2025

5.0

I used it for 2 years before moving to Canvas LMS, and, though I do actually really like Canvas, I would go back to Google classroom in a heartbeat. It’s truly easy to use, adding classes, assignments, it’s easy to make quizzes, and of course integrated with everything Google. I really liked it! And it’s better than Blackboard.

Pros

It’s very user-friendly and it integrated with everything. Especially since so many schools are going a Google route, using Google classroom makes it super easy to use everything else, from Gmail to Google slides. And like everything Google does, it’s clear and consistent in style.

Cons

Personally, my school moved to Canvas and I like that better because it has more apps that you can use for it. However, I would not be upset if we went back to Google classroom, because it really is that easy to use.

I used Google classroom for many years on a daily basis and liked the platform. It made tracking assignments and grades simple and easy.

Cons

### "Google Classroom: Great for the Tech Teacher"

March 21, 2025

4.0

Pros

Google Classroom has loads of integrations available with so many programs, and it's easy to set up to make it work with them. As a tech teacher, I rely on external web applications for most of my classes, and students can easily connect the apps to everything they need.

Cons

It's a bit rigid in what I can actually do with it. I can't get quite as much customization as I'd like. I teach in an International Baccalaureate school and it can be hard to use other kinds of grading rubrics with the existing system.

5.0

It's possible to communicate and collaborate with students using this platform.

Pros

Cons

Pros

Great for the money. Had all the features we needed and easy to use once you get used to the interface. Not hard to learn.

Cons

### "Google Classroom is an excellent extension of face-to-face classes"

December 5, 2024

5.0

My overall experience was very satisfactory. I used the classroom throughout 2020 up to and including 2021. The first year, during the pandemic, we adapted super fast and we could have the classes in an interactive way and without latency, interface or platform errors. The second year we handed in the assignments and exams through the platform and it was much more optimized to see the grades and notes made by the teachers. It became an extension of face-to-face classes, so I really consider it a platform that is here to stay if it is well used in the classroom.

Pros

What I liked most about the Classroom was the ability to make submissions, being able to see those who submitted work on time from those who were late, and being able to facilitate many means of submission, such as written file formats and being able to add links or video extensions for work that included multimedia creation. It also made it easier to see the grades that teachers graded quickly and almost instantaneously, which was appreciated, compared to having to wait a week or two for teachers to return paper exams.

Cons

What I “least liked” could be said to be the constant notifications I received as a student from Google Classroom for any changes made by the teachers. Even when they made optional academic proposals, many times as students we received such notifications as if they were really urgent things. Also, sometimes when all the subjects were gathered in a single classroom, it could become a bit tiresome and tedious to search for files of previous activities.

### "Google Classroom Helps First Year College Students Develop their LMS Skills"

January 22, 2025

4.0

Extremley positive experience and because we have Google Workspace for our company, it works seamlessly with the other Google Tools.

Pros

We use Google Classroom to manage our 3 week summer cohort experience. The goal is to provide tools and organization around the classroom setting we create for incoming first-year college students. It keeps the teaching team organized, and provides students with a simulated Learning Management System (LMS) so they start to understand what to expect from their professors at college.

Cons

It can be cumbersome to create a logical workflow.

### "My Experience with Google Classroom"

November 8, 2024

5.0

On this platform, I submitted my school assignments, and I found it very easy to send my work through this medium. In my opinion, it has a great capacity for submitting various types of assignments. It notified me immediately when the teacher graded my work and provided feedback. Overall, I think it’s a very good platform for studying

Pros

It has impressive clarity for students to submit their assignments. It notifies you when the teacher receives the assignments and when your work is graded. It's very easy to attach files, and it has plenty of storage capacity

Cons

You must have an internet connection to access this platform, and sometimes there are privacy concerns since it’s easy for someone else to access your accounts
