### "An overall great IDE recommended for junior and senior developers alike"

July 3, 2023

5.0

Discovered and ever since used this powerful IDE for full 3rd party integration, ensuring me with a seamless development experience

Pros

The ease of use as well as access to third party solutions, also VSCode being part of the Microsoft family ensures connectivity to other Microsoft products and services.

Cons

Depending on the operating system and hardware used sometimes the run time or searching functionality can be slow and appear buggy.

### "Advanced scripting with VS Code. "

April 5, 2023

5.0

It is helping me create and edit scripts that are part of my everyday tasks. It gives me a robust and secure tool with options to test the code before implementation in a live environment.

Pros

What I like the most about VS Code is the number of extensions and the possibility of writing my extension for a specific purpose. It makes Visual Studio extremely useful in some cases where standard coding is not enough.

Cons

I don't like the graphic interface of VS Code. For me, it is too many things I don't use and not too many things I would like to have. I think the side menu could be improved with more practical options and buttons.

VS Code have more options to customize the tool. Notepad++ also have some addons but they are rather simple.

### "A great IDE for beginners and professionals alike"

June 6, 2023

5.0

A great IDE that is feature-rich, highly customisable and looks good.

Pros

I like how customisable it is, my vs code looks like no other and that's all down to the theming and fonts etc. Combine that with plugins and the ide looks how I want, and functions how I want.

Cons

Because such a big company as Microsoft makes it, its basically impossible to get official help around the IDE, however, don't be dissuaded because the community is so strong you shouldn't really need it.

Secondo me normale.

### "VS Code review"

January 22, 2024

5.0

Personally, VS Code has almost no weak points. It is a very powerful, light-weight Software which facilitates users in programming at any language, with a user-friendly interface, a clear window organization, a fast research algorithm, together with the possibility of integrating external software engines through the usage of extensions

Pros

What I really like about VS Code is the possibility of programming and, at the same time, exploiting external software engines through the usage of very powerful extensions. Without doubt, the best feature is the SSH extension, which allows an ssh access to remote servers

Cons

Perhaps, a possible feature that VS Code might improve should be

### "Excellent Code Editor with excellent features"

September 24, 2023

5.0

Pros

The code syntax checking and issue finding and fixing feature I like most. Because when we write large codes then we can focus only on logics. Else everything vs code handles like syntax, auto code completion etc.

Cons

For me vs code is the best code editor till the time. I spent my 8 hours of working only with vs code and don't found anything to like

Pros

It is free and open source. It is highly customizable, you can change the appearance and functionality of the tool according to the needs. It is compatible with several programming languages.

Cons

Can be slow when working on large projects or with large files. The user interface can take some getting used to the tool and figuring out where all the features are located.

It is an excellent tool and also useful to become an expert coding using this tool, non-expensive and easy to run in every pc.

Pros

When creating applications for different projects Visual Studio Code have many compatible extensions with third party solutions and the support over the network is excellent, from beginner to advanced users.

Cons

Sometimes if you don't have many experiences using the software it becomes difficult to get going when in a hurry.

### "This is the best code editor that will save your time"

May 27, 2022

5.0

Since the beginning of my entry into the world of programming, I have used it without any hesitation, because it provides me with all the languages that I will use in the future without having to switch to other editors.

Pros

Visual Studio Code has many programming languages that you can practice and learn inside, and this is the first thing I liked, because from now on you don't switch from one editor to another until you type the language you want, so, using only Visual Studio you will switch to more than one language At the same time, thus you will save yourself time, and also not switch from one different user interface to another. A very powerful addition to this editor is VS Live Share, which enables you to share your work environment with your colleagues It also has a lot of keyboard shortcuts that save yourself a lot of time and effort at work, especially when working for long hours. A feature that I also liked is the Bracket Pair Colorizer, this add-on will show you the parentheses by coloring each parenthesis in a distinct color, which shows you the scope of each function or class in the code. A very useful feature is automatic code completion, where in some functions and variables it is completed automatically. And the best part of all is that it is open source and works on many devices such as Windows, Mac, Linux.

Cons

To be honest, there is nothing negative about this editor, it provides me with everything I really need.

### "Great IDE for software development"

March 2, 2021

4.0

Overall it's a great IDE for software developers. I use it every day and love it. It's the best IDE I can use for free with lots of functionalities.

Pros

It supports a multitude of programming languages with a lot of plugins to make our programming easier. Its lightweight compared to other IDE available. There are many plugins to choose from and various themes available to make the code editor the way I wanted and other personalization features. It has git integration and also I can run multiple terminals within with splitting too. It's cross-platform so I use it in both Windows and Ubuntu. I can find different plugins to support the Intelligent Code Completion so it makes my learning and programming faster and easier. Also, it's very good for debugging my codes. Also, it's free and better than any other paid options available. Search and Replace feature is my highly used feature where sometimes i have to replace the same texts in multiple files and this feature comes to the rescue to save my time.

Cons

One thing I don't like is when I delete a file in a project, VS Code doesn't warn me if it's referenced in other files in the project. It hangs when I try to open a large CSV file. Sometimes the automatic code completion doesn't work for me.

### "The best lightweight alternative to the full Visual Studio IDE"

November 28, 2019

5.0

I use VS Code mainly for my client-side projects, usually featuring a MEAN stack, where it excels because of its tight integration with TypeScript. In fact, VS Code was itself written in TypeScript, so writing Angular is unsurprisingly excellent.

Pros

Visual Studio Code is my go-to when I need a stable, lightweight source-code editor, without the full feature set of their full-blown IDE (and its attendant performance limitations). VS Code is cross-platform, lightning fast and highly extensible (multi-language with syntax highlighting, debugging and linting) via its huge library of extensions. What really sold it was the fact that its based on the Electron Framework by GitHub hence its tight integration with Git and other source-code management providers -- commits, pushes and pulls can be made right from the editor. Just an indispensable tool for any developer, but especially those who work cross-platform and deal mainly with client-side technologies like Javascript, CSS, React, etc.)

Cons

Since VS Code is Visual Studio without the Visual UI part, it is essentially a souped-up text editor. As such, it's oriented around files, not projects, and doesn't have any support for scaffolding. Also, its IntelliSense is limited, even for Microsoft file types. If you're looking for a full-featured IDE, you'll need to move up to Visual Studio Community (free) or Professional (subscription starts at SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN). Lastly, VS Code can be a huge memory hog, so be careful of running multiple instances with a low RAM machine (< 16GB).

### "The go-to for any modern development"

April 11, 2023

5.0

Good, but if you are trying to standardise experience for a large development team it may take a little trial-and-error. Would work for most development usecases.

Pros

It's free, and it has a great set of community supported extensions. Highly extensible and can be customised to almost any development usecase.

Cons

\- It takes up a surprising amount of ram for a text editor.- For some specific workflows/use cases, it takes quite a bit of work to get set up (e.g. SQL)

### "Code with confidence"

July 31, 2020

5.0

If you had told me five years ago that Microsoft would have a free solution to code editing, I would have laugh but here we are. Not only is it free but Visual Studio Code has become to the go to text editor for most in the programming industry. Web, Java, C++, Python it doesn’t matter what your working with Visual Studio Code can function with any language and with an active community creating plugins VS Code will always support whatever your working on. I most use it for web design as I can custom snap in a terminal window and work with composer or my custom scripts to get my work done.

Pros

VS Code is as close as a text editor can get to being an IDE. So, you have access to code recognition, custom color coding, and language specific code formatting. Code debugging is also possible. This means that errors made will be identified by VS Code. With access to CLI you can work on your files and execute commands in the same workspace. This makes working with tools like Composer, MySQL or Node.js easy. You can also integrate windows PowerShell for additional functionality. It supports Microsoft Azure cloud platform so working with my Azure website is easier than ever and because it also supports Git and GitHub I can implement my changes, commit and see my updates in real time on my Azure sites. Vs is very customizable and be tailored to match you style.

Cons

If anything, I can say is that to get the best out of VS Code you will have to install plugins. Plugins can affect your overall user experience. VS Code without plugins is a basic text editor just like any other text editor. How well these plugins function and work together will take some trial and error. It definitely takes some time to figure out how you want to utilize VS Code for your day to day tasks.

### "Best Text Editor "

Overall I love to use visual studio code and its features help me lots in my work. The extentions it provide, Themes and format support etc.

Pros

Visual studio code is the one fo the best text editor software. As a devloper it is very important to manage large code of programming efficiently. and I can manage this by using the VS code.

Cons

For some language like C and C++ it needs to install other software and that makes it some complex to use.

Pros

The major pro of this software is it's completely free to use. The way UI is built is highly professional. The software is stable and reliable.

Cons

The only con I would say is resolving conflicts on this is not very efficient. I have faced minor bugs when using dark theme but they can be ignored not a big issue.

### "VSCode is the best code editor ever"

November 15, 2023

5.0

It has been the most powerfull code editor i have tried. The best thing about it is that, being so popular and used by to many users, finding error solutions on the internet is really easy and it is continuously impronving thanks to users reviews.

Pros

The most important feature of VSCode are plugins. They allow their user to adapt their coding or text editing environment to their needs, and the popularity of this code editor makes day-by-day a better experience to find and use plugins to achieve our objectives.

Cons

Sometimes the integrated terminal inside the code editor has problems with version control system. Sometimes it is laggy and it is necessary to reload the editor so that changes work.

### "Heart for coder"

March 16, 2023

5.0

Overall experience is before VS code we can coding but vs code give us more flexibility to work with this and it give us more confidence for not leave coding if it is better so that all believe in this

Pros

From the beginning of my journey is starting from VS Code, this software gives us all functionality that a coder needs, it has too many extensions which help us to make our work easy and give us more comfortable using this tool, It also has connectivity without GitHub so that it gives us vision what we are doing changes and all, we can sync our account so that we can sync all the setting and get whenever we want so this is all about VS code

Cons

Till now we do not find any type of issue with our VS code they are giving us update on immediate bases so solving bug is most priority for VS code developer and it is also a bug solver for us, so this tool will not disappoint you

### "The Next IDE generation"

September 24, 2019

5.0

Is my everyday tool. I use it for taking notes as for develop. Is fast and thats is very helpful, if you need to test something small you are not going to open VS that take time to open, Code take miliseconds and is perfectly integrated with windows explorer, so it's adds a lot of productivity for your daily work.

Pros

It basically started as a complement to Visual Studio for js projects, and ended up as the trend IDE. It provides the performance of a simple text editor and the characteristics of a great IDE like its older brother. The extension market covers any language and any tool, you can integrate it with anything a developer uses. Very well equipped for React / Angular / Net Core project and, at the same time, a fluid experience that adds productivity to your development. And you can also use it as a text editor for notes, documentation, markdown.

Cons

Comming from Microsoft, it is incrdible that it is not compatible with .Net Framework projects. Supports JS, python, PHP, anything, but not .Net Framework. For debugging tools, some features of his older brother are still missing.

Sublime is good, but Code is the same with steroids. Is as fast as Sublime but surpass it 10 times in features and integrations. It does not stand a chance, if you use Sublime, you are gonna love Code.

### "Is Visual Studio Code the best text compiler?"

September 21, 2022

4.0

Since my beginnings in programming, the experience I have in Visual Studio Code is very good, simple, without scratches in the middle and practical. I use it in my studies and my work.

Pros

Easy to use, practical, very varied extensions. I would like to emphasize that it was the one I liked the most in terms of aesthetics and applicability with the proogramming lenjuages that I use daily.

Cons

Maybe the problems of phyton and libraries. The python console has a hard time recognizing windows characters. Fortunately in linux I didn't have those problems.

Reason for choosing Visual Studio Code

It was the one that caught my attention at first sight, the colors and it didn't look so empty. A lot of aesthetics at first and then its practicality.

### "My review for VS Code after using 1 Year"

August 31, 2023

4.0

If I would tell my Overall experience using VS Code, that is awesome and very time saving. I have also recommended this app to my college friends. They are preparing for the Placements and finding it very time saving. Also, there are too many features in app. Some of them are not explored by me yet after using for more than 1 year.

Pros

The best thing I found in Visual Studio Code, is the auto correction feature and extensions for different languages and uses. It saves my time so... so much. There are also different themes available in the application. Also, the User experience I got from VS Code is amazing. There are also some more features which I do not get from other softwares.

Cons

All the features are awesome and very useful. Everything is good! But one thing I would like to tell that sometimes I work on my code and suddenly app closes. I don't know, is it an app glitch or my system incompatibility. Yeah! that's all.

Reason for choosing Visual Studio Code

Yeah, I already told because of features and extensions I found in vs code. Also the popularity of this app attracted me.

### "Visual Studio Code - The leading code editor"

August 13, 2022

5.0

It has always been great and still using it.

Pros

I like how you can easily integrate different IDE. You can manage all dependencies in your VS Code. It allows different code templates that accord to the programming language you are using. Also, it has a large community that offers a great deal of help. As a coder, I would highly recommend using this code editor.

Cons

Be aware that when using a code template for a specific language be sure to check on settings that you are using the correct template to avoid overlapping of color-coded templates that would result in code typo errors.

### "VS Code General Review"

November 1, 2019

VS Code is so cool and compared to other Text Editors, to me it's definitely the best. Developer friendly, nice user interface and many extensions that really facilitate coding.

Pros

\- VS Code is constantly automatically updated with new features - VS Code has the Command Line Interface (CLI) directly built in it which enables me to run any git command directly in the editor, without open command prompt. - It's free, developed and maintained by a tech giant: Microsoft. - It's so easy to use, as well as it is easy to install extensions to have more functionalities. - I'm in love with the extension: Code share which enables me to share and live-edit my code with other team members. Remote Workspace which enables me to edit files on a hosting account directly via FTP.

Cons

\- Sometimes slow to launch - Too many confusing functionalities.

### "Best code editor for every software & web developer"

November 17, 2019

5.0

As a Software developer & a web developer, I use the Visual Studio Code for my coding, debugging & DevOps needs. Also recently I started to flutter mobile app development.

Pros

Before I'm using the Visual Studio Code (VS Code) I used many types of code editors some of them are Sublime Text & Atom. But they were way more complex to understand. But the Visual Studio Code is very easy to familiar. VS Code has the most number of plugins to each language & framework. Even the newest frameworks have stable plugins. Other Code Editors consumes more CPU usage while the VS Code uses when it's only needed. VS Code also integrates the DevOps such as Git. But when it comes to Sublime text Git support is provided as the premium feature.

Cons

VS Codes' git plugins enable in the default settings. This is sometimes a headache for me. Another thing is sometimes Visual Studio Code fails to detect the settings for some languages. As an example I recently VS Code for PHP Coding. I used the CodeIgniter framework for that. Before that, I've installed PHP but VS Code has failed to detect the pre-installed PHP on my computer. Another thing is when we have to do a setting most of the time I had to edit a JSON file. One mistake can make the software completely corrupted. So there is no undoing.
