And highly customizable. Cons One problem is that when you change a single letter in your text the translation disappears from the online website without any warning. SVP, Prodiuct Internet Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Quick Site Translations - Little Technical Heavy Lifting" August 16, 2019 5.0 Pros The best thing about Localize is that there's little to no tech required to get a site translated into another language whereas other solutions in this space require deeper integration and custom code to translate text strings on a webpage. Cons While there's little technical implementation, it means there's some sacrifices you have to make from a consumer experience standpoint. More specifically, because this is a java script solution, the page does render as it would normally for a quick moment and then the translations start appearing. Depending on how quickly the JS loads, it might be noticeable to the user that we're swapping around content. Pros It provides multiple languages to choose from. Cons The price is high. The code snippet decrease speed and load time on the website especially that there are many code snippets to be added from other service providers. Reason for choosing Localize i did not. The API itself is pretty easy to use and the documentation has plenty of examples to integrate into your product. Cons The starter plans are reasonable if you want to translate into a few languages. That works if you're only focused on launching in a few markets. It gets a little pricey if you want to translate into all major languages. But if your product has reached that scale you should be able to afford this service which will save you the overhead of hiring translators and administrators to keep track of updating new messages. Cons Sometimes when competing a step in the translation process you have to go back a few steps; it isn't always 100% intuitive. There is still work to be done for the actual translations but Localize makes this easy as well - you can order translation or use machine translation and have your team check/revise it.
