### "Highly recommend TaxDome!"

April 12, 2026

5.0

Overall the experience has been great. The software is great to use but there is a learning curve. One definitely needs to invest time and resources to get it going properly to make the office more efficient.

Pros

I really like that it automizes a lot of our tasks and communication with our clients. It has made our office much more efficient. I also like that we can charge the client within by connecting our Stripe account.

Cons

I do not like the fact that digital boards have not been working since we started using about a year and a half ago. We have continuously been reaching to the TaxDome team about the issue. They keep telling us that the issue will be worked on. However, it still has not been fixed. It would be amazing if they functioned correctly.

### "TaxDome Functionality "

March 3, 2026

4.0

I’ve always had nothing but great things to say about . They are everything you need to be successful in the tax prep/accounting industry. The templates are formatted for exactly what is needed and it saves so much time.

Pros

is truly an all-in-one practice management suite. The automations save so much time, the communication features allow for a seamless interaction with clients, the integrated website is invaluable! Time tracking, billing, workflow automation, payment processing, scheduling, I mean it’s all there. They continue to make improvements and it’s amazing. The customer service is unmatched they are always available and willing to help. The entire tax management process is seamless it allows for step-by-step support. The organizers are easily reviewed and edited, the pipelines when set up properly allow the workflow to go over easy, and the tax return delivery amongst the abilities to tick mark and never into a single PDF are just game changers. The price has gone up but it still saves a tons of money!

Cons

It is a bit difficult to get acclimated to. You’ll have to take some time to get the automations set up properly and to create a process that flows. Once you do that it’s great. The website builder feature it a bit limited from others but it still creates a beautiful, manageable site.

### "Great for project management and client portals, needs work with billing."

March 11, 2026

3.0

I've been very frustrated with the "New Features" that are listed as coming out on a certain date. Then that date comes and goes and it's STILL not available. For months and months past when it was originally stated to come out. The overall experience is good, but don't promise things that you can't deliver is my overall message.

Pros

I like the project management part of the software. Also, the automated features saves a lot of time. For example, auto emailing clients for status updates and being able to bulk email a bunch of clients at once.

Cons

The billing part of the software is extremely frustrating. I've been very frustrated with the "New Features" that are listed as coming out on a certain date. Then that date comes and goes and it's STILL not available. For months and months past when it was originally stated to come out. I need to be able to delete a payment from an invoice if the client's payment fails, but this is not an option. Also, the lack of being able to apply a partial payment in many cases is just ridiculous.

### "Spend a dollar, save a bundle!"

January 3, 2026

5.0

Once the initial setup is complete, the value becomes very clear—and it extends far beyond cost savings. The true return is the time you regain after implementation. Building a more self-running firm creates the capacity needed to manage ongoing tax law changes and help clients adapt efficiently. That recovered time can then be reinvested into expanding service offerings, deepening client relationships, and developing higher-value services such as advisory and tax planning—ultimately moving the firm forward rather than just keeping up.

Pros

offers strong customer support and significantly improves productivity, making it a leading tax practice management platform. Many tax practices lack formal standard operating procedures (SOPs) unless they perform audits or are required to follow Quality Management standards. TaxDome helps fill that gap by encouraging standardized workflows, which in turn increases efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the firm.

Cons

There is a significant learning curve and implementation hurdle. Many practices are looking for a simple, quick setup and are discouraged by the upfront time and effort required to implement new systems. Pre-built, in-house packages—such as accounting software with standardized chart-of-accounts templates—would be highly attractive and could significantly reduce onboarding friction. Group-based training offerings would also be a strong value driver, helping firms adopt the software more efficiently while building confidence and consistency across teams.

Alternatives considered

[Canopy](https://www.capterra.com/p/150647/Canopy-Tax/)

Reason for choosing TaxDome

We ultimately chose over Canopy because of its higher level of customization and its clear reinvestment of profits into ongoing product development. That reinvestment translated into greater flexibility, stronger workflow control, and a platform better aligned with how modern firms actually operate.

As it became clear that Thomson Reuters was no longer heavily investing in advancing its legacy platform, we recognized the need to evaluate alternative solutions. We conducted demonstrations across several software packages, and after careful comparison, this platform stood out as head and shoulders above the others in terms of functionality, workflow efficiency, and long-term scalability.

### "TaxDome is a great program"

April 28, 2026

5.0

Overall, our firm is pleased with the program. It has been user-friendly for both employees and clients, and we appreciate the customizable features and the customer service.

Pros

We appreciate the overall wide range of customizable features in the program. The specific components of the program that are used most by our firm, workflow/pipelines and time/billing have become easy to navigate and we are always finding new ways to customize our experience to best serve our clients. Clients express that the client portal is user-friendly. The site builder feature was also very helpful.

Cons

We wish our onboarding program was a little more in-depth. I also wish there was a way to combine accounts (not just contacts) when a duplicate account is made.

### "Rough to set up/Great automations once you do set it all up. "

March 6, 2026

3.0

It's been rough. Hopefully that is behind us. Still trying to work on some things but it isn't terrible once you get through the set up. It has Ease of use marked in green, but that is not the case.

Pros

I like that you can pull IRS tax transcripts straight from there. And once you do get all the way of setting it up, the automations are great if they do what you need them to do.

Cons

That I had to set up the entire software, it's lengthy process and takes forever. You literally have to set everything up, you can't just get to work. Plan to have several months/Pay extra for lessons, and extra for one-on-one time, of set up before you can actually use.

### "Great Software"

April 7, 2026

4.0

We’ve had a very positive experience with . Overall, it has made our tax season run much more smoothly and has helped streamline our workflow, client communication, and document management. The setup process is definitely time-consuming and can feel a bit overwhelming at first. However, the TaxDome support team was consistently friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the process, which made a big difference. Once everything was up and running, the system became a great asset to our firm. I would absolutely recommend TaxDome to other firms—just be sure to give yourself plenty of time to set it up properly and learn the platform before your busy season begins.

Pros

Streamlines tax season and makes the overall workflow smoother, Improves organization of documents and client information, client and staff communication through one centralized platform, helps keep processes consistent and efficient, Strong support team, helps keep the firm more organized during busy season

Cons

Setup process is time-consuming and can feel overwhelming, steep learning curve, especially at the beginning, requires significant upfront time investment before seeing benefits, takes trial and error to learn, limited reporting

April 7, 2026

I like very much, I use to to follow up with our hundreds of T1 clients, and all the status are clear, no need to check with clients back and forth

Pros

it's all-in-one management platform is very helpful. You can do anything in client's account, and check any updates from there

Cons

Its a decent product. I use it on a weekly basis with the rest of my team all throughout the year. For bookkeeping clients as well as tax only clients.

Pros

I like that everything is all together and you can assign tasks to different people. Not a lot to say

Cons

### "Usefully and always improving"

December 22, 2025

4.0

Overall it's been positive. Each year we get better and better alongside the program. I do wish there was more transparency with pricing. When we first signed up we asked about increases and were told that TD had not raised prices in 5 years so it was unlikely to increase. Then 6 months after we sign up there's an increase. There's been yearly increases. Offering "locked in" pricing is great but making people pay 3 years upfront is insane. That's a HUGE amount of money for any firm but especially to small/mid size firms that this program is designed for. Paid yearly with a contract to pay out remainder if canceled earlier is way better and far more reasonable

Pros

I like that the design team & founders actually value the feedback of its clients and make real changes when it comes to use of the product. there's a slight learning curve as with any new product BUT it's not like you're trying to solve a calculus question. The biggest learning curve will be changing the habits of your team. Accountants don't like change but provides a positive change

Cons

Their timeline for features should be considered against an accounting/CPA/tax prep's real world calendar and deadlines. Having features that we would greatly benefit our tax season but not coming out until the end of Q1 \[end of tax season\] isn't helpful to us. Tax prep features need to come out either Q2 or Q3 so we have time to test and implement. I also think there needs to be some type of "scale" when it comes to wanted features. What may seem unimportant to 10% of firms may be a high priority to 85% of others.

December 29, 2025

We LOVE ! I have used Thompson Reuters, offices tools, and safesend in the past. The ease of having one software do what use to take 3 softwares is AMAZING!

### "Constant Feature Upgrades = Great Value"

October 31, 2025

5.0

I love how responsive is to feature requests, and the fact that they are constantly updating it with new features. It makes me feel confident that even among a changing tech landscape, TaxDome will still be worth the investment for many many years to come. The value keeps going up as they add new features.

Pros

I think the best part about is the fact they listen to their customers, and are constantly adding new features to improve their product. There is a feedback section that allows you to suggest new features or suggest changes to old features, and they genuinely do make changes based on the feedback. I leave feedback all the time, and they've implemented many of my suggestions.

Cons

My firm used to use Sharefile to transmit documents securely to and from clients, and now has pretty much replaced Sharefile for us, however, I wish it had the ability to work in a similar way to Sharefile for non-clients because currently we are still haven't to keep Sharefile for people like financial advisors and others who aren't clients so therefore they don't have a good way to securely send us documents through TaxDome.

### "100% worth it"

February 11, 2026

5.0

Overall I think 's value for the cost is worth it everytime. It gives you everything you need on day to day tasks.

Pros

is such a time saver with everything you need in one place when it comes to document storage, signatures, invoicing, and client communications. On top of that, anything I don't know how to use yet in order to make the back end of work as efficient as possible the AI chat or real customer support can answer anything I need! From a clients perspective, I have had nothing but good feedback on how easy everything is on their end, which was always an issue before.

Cons

There are random reports or tracking that is not possible yet but I am hopeful with all that they have so far, those will be pushed out in the future.

### "New TaxDome User, it’s made it easy!"

February 16, 2026

5.0

My experience has been positive, but I haven’t had to get with support or have any issues. My firm is small so not a ton opportunities for software failure.

Pros

is pretty user friendly considering how much it offers. I needed time tracking and it makes it very easy to bill that way. Once everything was customized for how I ran my firm, it’s a snap to do anything. Receiving payments is also really easy for the client. I especially appreciated the engagement letter templates and the organizers. Organizers are a bear to create from scratch, these are easy to modify and the client can fill them out easily. They can even upload documents right into the organizer so the don’t forget to upload later. The price is worth it, in my opinion. They usually have specials on the fall to get it going before tax season ramps up. I have not had to call support yet, everything worked pretty well.

Cons

There is still a decent fee for receiving payments through payments. I also wish there were more templates that didn’t cost a lot.

December 22, 2025

4.0

Overall, my experience is pretty good. Our rep is very responsive and willing to help. If she doesn't know the answer, she pulls in other colleagues to assist.

Pros

offers a fairly wide range of customization options, but it’s missing some of the smaller, detail-level customizations. For example, it would be very helpful to have short codes for account-level fields like client name and address, which are currently not available or are skipped.

Cons

The reporting features are complex and make it difficult to obtain the results we’re looking for. As general users, it’s not always clear what the field names are called. Fortunately, my background in computer science and databases helps me navigate some of these challenges.

September 2, 2025

4.0

I am very happy with , although I am not using all the platform has to offer yet, it certainly fits my needs at the time and I like that I can grow with it.

Pros

As a small firm, having a secure way to exchange information with clients is essential and this is easy for both me and clients to use. It's also a wonderful and easy way to get clients to sign electronically and help minimize time having to meet with clients.

Cons

The pricing is getting steep for a small firm just starting. I would love to take advantage of the discounts, but don't have the cash flow to pay 3 years up front. I think the pipelines take a lot of work which is hard to devote the time when you are a one person firm. I am looking forward to see what bookkeeping help you have in the future.

### "TaxDome great for all!"

August 27, 2025

Overall, it is a great platform and we are working it to the point that it will run our business and grow it to the next levels.

Pros

is great at creating a system that always a company to grow and expand. It also is great with updating the program to include efficient ways to manage clients, information & processes. We will be moving over to the invoicing system and expect payments will be getting to us quicker.

Cons

Once is implemented and upload with all of the pipelines needed for your business, it is amazing. Downside was getting to that point especially when you are learning how to work the system. I would like more options to learn, hands on. Lastly, I wish it had a breaks on the amount it costs per users instead of same $ amount for the # of users.

Wonderful. I'd pick them again. They walked us through the upload process and cleaning up our files. The training is fantastic and the bootcamps are interactive with a full team to answer questions on the fly. Honestly, they have the best customer service practices of anyone I've ever dealt with.

Pros

We are in the beginning stages, but the onboarding and assistance is on point. the CRM component is amazing. We went from lacking in bulk emails and notices to sending multiple. We have not fully integrated but will be diving in this summer. The team is incredible. They check in often and offer assistance and extra training as well. They are quick to reply and answer questions along the way.

Cons

Excellent. I love how continues to add features. I barley scratched the surface of all it can do. I feel I don't have the time right now to really dive into certain things (workflow/jobs for example), but I will this summer. It'll will be good to get a better understanding as my practice grows.

Pros

Super clean and easy to use. Clients really enjoy it as well. I love having everything I need in one spot. I highly recommend this product to anyone with an accounting/tax practice.

Cons

I like it all and have no real complaints. One thing I would like to see updated is the invoice piece within the proposal/engagement letter module. When a client accepts the proposal, it automatically invoices them with "today's" due date. I know there is an option to choose a different date, but that's not really helpful either. Here's why- I would like an option to be able to invoice the client after I perform the work (date is unknown at the time of agreement), instead of at the time of agreement. Say you sign a tax client in October, and you want to send the proposal to get the EL signed and price agreed upon, however, you don't want to invoice at that time. The client might not like the idea that they have this open invoice that says it's due now, when you don't need them to pay until months later. My previous agreement/payment software I used, Anchor, had this option- The client had to enter payment information in order to accept the agreement, but the firm (me) had the ability to invoice and charge their card when we wanted (when the work was completed for example)

### "Efficiency and Value in One Platform"

August 21, 2025

5.0

It has definitely been a game changer for our firm’s operations. Having automated processes, guided procedures, and different integrations—such as team chat, client communication channels, and automated payment and billing integrated into the client portal, where clients can choose the payment option that best suits them and process the payment themselves—has brought a lot of efficiency to our daily workflow. Tax management has also become much more efficient, both for us and for our clients. Today, our team is more focused on providing personalized service and supporting our clients’ growth, rather than spending time on small tasks that are now automated. The value we get from the platform is truly worth every penny.

Pros

Having everything in one place. The pipeline helps our team follow standard procedures, ensuring that the quality of work is always consistent, regardless of who is performing the task. It also makes training and execution much easier, since we can add training links directly into tasks and jobs.

Cons

At the moment, I can’t really say there’s anything I dislike. is constantly evolving, and their team quickly addresses any negative points by actively listening to user feedback. That said, if I had to mention one thing, I would love to see WhatsApp integrated into the platform, the same way email and SMS are.

### "A Powerful Tool for an Organized, Efficient Tax Practice"

July 4, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with has been very positive. It has helped me stay organized, streamline communication with clients, and maintain a more professional image. The platform makes it easy to manage documents, collect e-signatures, and keep everything in one place. While I’m still adjusting some workflows — especially around video sharing, which I used to do more freely with my previous system — I appreciate the structure and efficiency TaxDome brings to my practice. It’s a solid tool for growing and managing a modern tax and accounting firm.

Pros

I use to manage client information and documents, and it has truly streamlined my workflow. I love how easy it is to communicate with clients through the platform — everything looks professional and is well organized. I especially appreciate the Gmail synchronization and the ability to use email templates throughout every step of my workflow — it saves a lot of time and keeps communication consistent. The e-signature feature is especially helpful, making the signing process simple and efficient for both me and my clients. Overall, TaxDome has made my practice more efficient and client-friendly.

Cons

One thing I really miss from my previous platform (ShareFile) is the ability to easily share videos. At the beginning of tax season, I used to upload instructional videos and simply send clients a direct link — no login or restrictions required, which made access very simple. With , I haven’t found a way to replicate that functionality yet. I would love to see an option for easier video sharing in the future. I’m still figuring out how I’ll manage this for next tax season. One feature I’d love to see improved is the ability to CC a team member when sending emails from a template. Currently, I haven’t found a way to do this within the system, and it would be extremely helpful for keeping my team in the loop, especially during tax season. One feature I currently don’t use is the invoicing tool, mainly because my entire team has access to it. I prefer to keep billing and client charging more restricted, and at the moment, there’s no way to limit access or visibility within that section. Having more permission controls would make it easier for me to fully adopt this feature.

### "TaxDome for Sole Prop"

February 6, 2026

4.0

Overall has been great. I do look forward to the ability to pass thru credit card fees to clients. I also look forward to additional features as they seem to be regularly adding helpful features.

Pros

does document storage right. They also make tracking projects easy and sending invoices. I enjoy how easy it is to set up a new client too. I also appreciate the KBA signatures ability.

Cons

’s pdf editor doesn’t compare to Adobe. It’s good - but not good enough for basic tax preparation needs. I initially purchased the plan with hopes I could avoid an AdobePDF subscription, but ended up needing Adobe.

### "tax management that actually delivers and grows"

August 14, 2025

love the experience and very likely not switching to a different crm. would love cross functionality geared more towards CRM/financial advisory work

Pros

Love all the features and roadmap ideas. love the growth solutions and marketplace to see how other users are implemnting pipelines, workflows, etc. I l also love the frequent webinars to increase use knowledge

Cons

dont' have quick access to visible contact/account information. i switched from canopy tax and i really liked their client info for emails, phone numbers, etc. to be copied easily. since some forms require mailing it would be great to copy addresses with click of button.
