### "Great Workflows and Invoicing Tools"

August 4, 2026

5.0

It has allowed us to manage a growing team and meet our clients needs for electronic delivery and invoicing.

Pros

The workflows are great for keeping multiple tasks moving on target, and the integrated invoicing and payment features streamline the customer experience.

Cons

In the beginning we made some of our workflows overly complicated. This decreased our efficiency, however they are easy to update and correct.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

It was recommended by other firms who had used it in the past.

### "Perfect for a small CPA firm"

August 3, 2026

5.0

TaxDome has increased my efficiencies in all aspects of my firm. It's made the tracking of projects easier, communication with clients has been streamlined, pulling down information from the IRS has never been easier. Overall, this has been a game changer!

Pros

I like the layout of the platform. It's easy to find what I'm looking for, and it has an organized feel to it. I also really like the ability to constantly tweak and "perfect" the pipelines. I appreciate the flexibility I've found there.

Cons

I found it overwhelming to set up. Specifically, figuring out how to automate the pipeline was tough. I've watched countless videos and sat through various pitches. I picked up tips and tricks along the way. But, just figuring out how to get the project to automatically move from one step to the next within the pipeline was really frustrating.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

I found it difficult to use. I didn't understand the setup process and I got frustrated with it.

OfficeTools is an antiquated system that is frustrating to use. The way projects are tracked make it way to easy for something to slip through the cracks. I switched to TaxDome looking for a better way to manage the workload, and I am very satisfied with what I found.

### "Taxdome Need some enhancements!"

August 18, 2026

3.0

My overall experience with TaxDome has been positive. It is a very useful platform for organizing client documents, signatures, billing, payments, communication, and tax-related workflows all in one place. I especially appreciate having a centralized portal where clients can upload documents, sign forms, receive invoices, and communicate with our office. It has helped our firm stay more organized and has made it easier to manage multiple clients and ongoing projects. There are still areas that could be improved, particularly \*\*billing transparency and client communication\*\*. Many of our clients pay in installments, so it would be very helpful for them to clearly see their \*\*remaining balance after each payment\*\*, rather than only seeing individual payments. More professional and customizable invoice emails, better reminder options, signatures, subject lines, and visibility of sent billing communications would also improve the experience. Overall, TaxDome is a strong and helpful platform, and I enjoy using it. With a few improvements to billing, invoicing, and communication features, I believe it could be even more effective for tax and accounting firms.

Pros

like TaxDome and appreciate how much it helps organize client work, documents, payments, and communication.

Cons

One important improvement would be billing visibility for clients. When a client makes partial payments, they should be able to clearly see their original invoice amount, payments made, and current outstanding balance. Many of my clients pay in installments, and they want to know exactly how much they still owe without having to calculate it themselves. I would also like to see more customization and professionalism in the invoice emails sent to clients. It would be helpful to have the ability to add a clear subject/title, a professional signature, customized reminders, and more detailed messaging. Another important feature would be the ability to see these invoice emails and reminders in our Sent folder, so we have a complete record of what was communicated to the client and when.

### "Can't Run My Firm without TaxDome"

August 3, 2026

5.0

Our experience with TaxDome has been amazing and they are the one vendor that we are NOT looking at replacing in our tech stack. After the initial implementation, TaxDome has been a dream to use. My clients have been very happy with the client portal and the smartphone app. The part that has impressed me the most about TaxDome is that they are constantly innovating and adding new features. The best part of that is they don't try to nickel and dime you when they roll out a new feature. It just becomes part of the software. They are also very receptive to feedback. I asked them a questions about adding a feature and they told me it was already in development and the solution they designed was even better than what I was looking for!

Pros

TaxDome literally saved my tax season last year. We have been growing rapidly and needed a way to organize all of our client workflows. It provided everything we needed and so much more. The project pipelines and a great way to see where all of your clients are during the preparation and delivery process and you can set notifications when something is outside of your expected timelines. The price is worth every penny for it. We were able to consolidate several applications into, which helped justify the initial cost. I also really appreciate that you can activate TaxDome managed client portal support. We tried to self manage at the beginning of the season in an effort to save son costs, but quickly realized that letting TaxDome handle that process literally saved us hours. The part that I wasn't necessarily looking for, but now my firm relies on is the invoicing and payment processing. We are able to present clients with an invoice at the time they sign their engagement letter and TaxDome will collect a deposit for us prior to releasing the organizer. Then during final delivery, you are able to paywall the signature documents ensuring that the client pays before they are given the opportunity to sign their documents. This is one of the most beneficial parts of the software for our firm now and we will never go back to sending an invoice and holing we get paid.

Cons

TaxDome is a major investment of your time. They do have some sample workflows to get you started, but setting up a workflow that matches how your firm works takes a fair amount of time. You'll also need to spend a fair amount of time learning how the software works, so that you can get the most out of it. Thankfully the sample walkthroughs will help you hit the ground running and the video walkthroughs are a lifesaver.

### "Exceptional CRM for CPAs"

August 3, 2026

5.0

Overall, TaxDome features are exceptional and exactly what we desire to use for our needs as a small (2 members) CPA firm.

Pros

There are multiple features that we enjoy with TaxDome to name a few: 1) Communication 2) Proposal Deliver 3) Job Tracking 4) Client Data Storage 5) Mobile App 6) Signatures 7) Payment processing and tracking 8) Notifications

Cons

The feature we like the least with TaxDome is the ability to reissue an invoice when a client makes a partial payment. This process is too cumbersome and painful to attempt to correct.

### "The All-in-One Solution Every Tax Professional Needs"

August 3, 2026

5.0

Overall Experience: My experience with Tax Dome has been transformative for my business. It has replaced several disjointed tools, saving me time and keeping my client communications and tax documents organized in one secure location. It is an essential asset for any tax professional looking to modernize their practice.

Pros

Tax Dome offers exceptional value by consolidating tax management, invoicing, and payment processing into a single, cohesive platform. The ease of use is a major highlight, as the interface is intuitive and significantly streamlines my daily workflow. Customer support has also been highly responsive and helpful whenever I’ve had questions.

Cons

While Tax Dome is a powerful platform, there is a noticeable learning curve when initially configuring the more advanced automation features. Furthermore, while the expense tracking is functional, I would like to see more robust reporting capabilities for deeper financial analysis. Additionally, the individual per-user pricing feels a bit high.

Switched from

[Progress ShareFile](https://www.capterra.com/p/10007380/ShareFile/)

I switched from Progress ShareFile because I needed a more comprehensive, all-in-one solution specifically tailored to tax and accounting practices. While ShareFile handled document storage well, it lacked the integrated workflow features—such as automated client reminders, e-signatures, and project management—that TaxDome provides. Consolidating these processes into a single platform has significantly streamlined my practice and eliminated the need for multiple disconnected software subscriptions.

### "All inclusive practice management"

August 10, 2026

5.0

My experience has been as amazing. My onboarder advised that I only use 1 feature at a time and not bite off more than I can chew. I followed that advise and am excited about adding more features every week.

Pros

one data source for all of your clients. All client and firm information is in one place. I recently began using the invoicing feature and have been getting positive feed back.

Cons

Sounds funny, but there are too many options available when you start using the software. It could be overwhelming. Saying that every few weeks I keep adding new features which are amazing.

### "What we needed for firm modernization"

August 25, 2026

5.0

Again, the initial setup is a lot. Once through that I can see that TaxDome will be our "single source of truth" for serving clients. TaxDome allows us to see everything going on for the client at a glance and also a higher level picture of how our departments are running.

Pros

Customer service has been incredible. Our onboarding manager \[sensitive content hidden\] has been very helpful and informative about the process. Also, I liked that we were able to completely customize our workflow so we can grow into it. Other platforms felt too rigid in that regard.

Cons

The biggest issue that we have had has been getting our data and processes into TaxDome which is an indictment on the inconsistencies WE have had internally, not necessarily on TaxDome. The setup phase is a bit much but I can see that on the other side our firm will be better for it.

### "Tax Dome perspective as a new Solopreneur"

August 18, 2026

4.0

Pros

I most appreciate having a client friendly document portal. It is easy for my clients to navigate and drop the files that I need or request. I like the virtual drive where all those documents are stored. I also really like the e-signature option where I can drag and drop where I need to sign. It has helped me to become more organized in my CRM and file management.

Cons

As a solo practitioner learning the system has a big learning curve. In my first year I know full well I haven't been able to take maximum advantage of what the system offers. But, using the pipelines and setting up the automated forms (like the client organizer) has seemed a bit overwhelming to develop fully. It takes a lot of time to build what I need to eventually save time.

It is good, the onboarding can be difficult but once you get everything up and running it works well.

Pros

Cons

### "Excellent Software"

November 19, 2025

5.0

Overall, there is nothing better and I am a happy customer. Its very obvious that it is only continuing to get better. For the price TaxDome is un-matched.

Pros

I love that they are constantly evolving the software and adding new features to make managing client files more efficient. The software overall has made communicating with clients and staying organized so much easier. It cannot be understated how much better TaxDome is than the competition.

Cons

The main complaint I have is just that we don't YET have a true minimalist, user friendly approach for clients to "finish" their return. However, it is currently in beta and looks to be the answer to this issue. The only other thing I would like to see revamped soon is task and job management. It can sometimes get messy and I feel like there should be a cleaner way to prevent task overload. Maybe a new button that allows for easier filtering of these things or something along those lines.

### "Is TaxDome Worth It for Small Firms? My Take"

January 27, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with TaxDome has been very positive. It’s a true all-in-one platform that brings client communication, documents, workflows, billing, and payments into one place, which makes running a small, virtual firm much more efficient. There is an upfront learning curve during setup, but once workflows are configured, the day-to-day operations run noticeably smoother. It’s a solid long-term solution for practitioners who want to streamline their tech stack and deliver a more professional client experience.

Pros

Solid value when you consider it replaces multiple tools (portal, CRM, e-sign, workflows, billing) Responsive customer support and helpful onboarding Centralized tax workflows that bring structure and visibility—especially during tax season Built-in invoicing and payments that reduce follow-ups Client-friendly portal that improves communication and compliance

Cons

It does not offer recurring charges to client account like Ignition does. Bookkeeping Module is not ready to replace other bookkeeping CRMs.

### "TaxDome was a total disappointment for our firm"

November 26, 2025

2.0

The demo was impressive, and we decided to sign up with them. We paid the $2,000 onboard fee plus the $7,000 first year subscription for our 7 team members, for a total of $9,000. They DO NOT REFUND. This was a total loss for our team. I would demand a trial before paying them anything. It started with us needing to provide a client csv database for the initial upload. We were provided a csv template to match. 10 hours in to the csv file formatting, we questioned them, and were told to watch the training videos. The videos are conflicting, and incongruent with the template provided. For example, the template says to use "Jones family," while the video will say not use "Jones family" because you might have more than 1 Jones family. One video says you can make separate columns for the spouse, while another will say something different. I asked for a congruent template and instruction videos, and the request was met with silence. As a former manufacturing and process engineer, this was awful and a giant RED FLAG. When we questioned them again, we were told it was a "big misunderstanding," and that the TaxDome team would format the file and upload it for us. I believe they did ultimately format the file, but at that point we had lost confidence in their platform. During the demo, we were told that Tax Dome would upload several years of client documents for us. After paying the fee, we were told that we would have to do this for ourselves. This was another one of those "misunderstandings," apparently. This was not a deal-breaker, because we could just archive the documents on our server and delete documents from old years over time. In total, we worked with them around 6 weeks. The onboarding sessions are 1 hour, once per week. It's unbelievably slow and frustrating to try and onboard at this pace. Taking 3 months to onboard is not really practical. In fairness, we were informed of this at the onset. We made some assumptions that we should not have made. They do not disclose these things up front. For example: They have the ability to send the client a document collection checklist. You would assume this can be done in bulk. This is not the case. You must generate and send the checklist to each client one at a time. You have to add user permissions to each client account one at a time. You would assume that the default would be for all users to have access to all client accounts, then you would limit access to any accounts that are sensitive. This is not the case. This means, in theory, you would have to add each seasonal user to each client file each new year.....unbelievable. The Juno integration does appear to work, but there are far easier (less clunky) platforms out there. We did not make it far enough to actually use this feature. We believe the TaxDome platform works, but it is not ready for consumer use. It is really a beta version software. Even if we had successfully onboarded, the learning curve for the staff, and even the seasonal staff, would have been very steep and costly.

Pros

The Demo, client phone app, workflow and practice management all in one platform. Price relative to competitors.

Cons

It is a beta version software, and we ultimately had to abandon the onboarding for multiple reasons.

### "TaxDome is the bomb. "

November 18, 2025

5.0

Excellent overall experience. We were able to go live with TaxDome in about 6 weeks. There is a large amount of setup required and a significant learning curve. However, each time something new is learned it results in immediate savings of time and improved user experience. Users are rewarded by the program when an effort is made to learn the system, which encourages further learning. Staff satisfaction with TaxDome is high.

Pros

Return on Investment for TaxDome began almost immediately. Savings in time and increased client satisfaction were experienced quickly. Customer support and initial training was/is outstanding. The integrated time, billing and payment features were a large improvement over our previous system (Practice CS). TaxDome appears to be geared towards smaller practices and this is much appreciated.

Cons

### "Constant Feature Upgrades = Great Value"

October 31, 2025

5.0

I love how responsive TaxDome is to feature requests, and the fact that they are constantly updating it with new features. It makes me feel confident that even among a changing tech landscape, TaxDome will still be worth the investment for many many years to come. The value keeps going up as they add new features.

Pros

I think the best part about TaxDome is the fact they listen to their customers, and are constantly adding new features to improve their product. There is a feedback section that allows you to suggest new features or suggest changes to old features, and they genuinely do make changes based on the feedback. I leave feedback all the time, and they've implemented many of my suggestions.

Cons

My firm used to use Sharefile to transmit documents securely to and from clients, and now TaxDome has pretty much replaced Sharefile for us, however, I wish it had the ability to work in a similar way to Sharefile for non-clients because currently we are still haven't to keep Sharefile for people like financial advisors and others who aren't clients so therefore they don't have a good way to securely send us documents through TaxDome.

### "Great Software"

April 7, 2026

We’ve had a very positive experience with TaxDome. Overall, it has made our tax season run much more smoothly and has helped streamline our workflow, client communication, and document management. The setup process is definitely time-consuming and can feel a bit overwhelming at first. However, the TaxDome support team was consistently friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the process, which made a big difference. Once everything was up and running, the system became a great asset to our firm. I would absolutely recommend TaxDome to other firms—just be sure to give yourself plenty of time to set it up properly and learn the platform before your busy season begins.

Pros

Streamlines tax season and makes the overall workflow smoother, Improves organization of documents and client information, client and staff communication through one centralized platform, helps keep processes consistent and efficient, Strong support team, helps keep the firm more organized during busy season

I've been with TaxDome for about 4 years and I switched from Jotform to TaxDome at the start of a tax season because I sold on having a better process for my clients and I've been sold ever since.

Pros

I love that I can manage all of my clients in one place. I offer a variety of services such as tax preparation, tax resolution and bookkeeping and I'm able all of the services I offer for my clients in one place.

### "Happy as a small firm owner"

September 2, 2025

4.0

I am very happy with TaxDome, although I am not using all the platform has to offer yet, it certainly fits my needs at the time and I like that I can grow with it.

Pros

As a small firm, having a secure way to exchange information with clients is essential and this is easy for both me and clients to use. It's also a wonderful and easy way to get clients to sign electronically and help minimize time having to meet with clients.

Cons

The pricing is getting steep for a small firm just starting. I would love to take advantage of the discounts, but don't have the cash flow to pay 3 years up front. I think the pipelines take a lot of work which is hard to devote the time when you are a one person firm. I am looking forward to see what bookkeeping help you have in the future.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

The price at the time was more affordable and I found a lot of positive feedback in peer groups on the product. I can't remember all the ones I considered.

### "TaxDome is The Perfect Addition to Your Tech Stack!"

August 19, 2025

5.0

Overall, I love TaxDome. It has improved my client communication, enabled me to collect a deposit when an Engagement Letter is signed, and I know what is going on with the return. I am a solo practitioner, and TaxDome saves me hours each week, and it lets me see at a glance whether I am waiting for my client or my client is waiting for me.

Pros

TaxDome keeps me informed about the current status of my clients' tax preparation processes. With the use of pipelines, I can automate much of my communication with my clients, and I can easily request payments through the integrated system with Stripe. Customer support was amazing during my free trial, which gave me confidence once I had a full subscription. I use TaxDome as my practice management software and my secure portal. Based on what TaxDome offers, I think it is a good value for the money.

Cons

One of the issues with TaxDome is that in order to get the most from it, you need to use effective pipelines. That con is solved because you have the option of buying pipelines that accomplish what you need, or you can learn how to build your own pipelines. There is enough training in their resources to help you do that.

### "Excellent Software Tool for My Practice"

February 25, 2026

5.0

Excellent. I love how TaxDome continues to add features. I barley scratched the surface of all it can do. I feel I don't have the time right now to really dive into certain things (workflow/jobs for example), but I will this summer. It'll will be good to get a better understanding as my practice grows.

Pros

Super clean and easy to use. Clients really enjoy it as well. I love having everything I need in one spot. I highly recommend this product to anyone with an accounting/tax practice.

Cons

I like it all and have no real complaints. One thing I would like to see updated is the invoice piece within the proposal/engagement letter module. When a client accepts the proposal, it automatically invoices them with "today's" due date. I know there is an option to choose a different date, but that's not really helpful either. Here's why- I would like an option to be able to invoice the client after I perform the work (date is unknown at the time of agreement), instead of at the time of agreement. Say you sign a tax client in October, and you want to send the proposal to get the EL signed and price agreed upon, however, you don't want to invoice at that time. The client might not like the idea that they have this open invoice that says it's due now, when you don't need them to pay until months later. My previous agreement/payment software I used, Anchor, had this option- The client had to enter payment information in order to accept the agreement, but the firm (me) had the ability to invoice and charge their card when we wanted (when the work was completed for example)

### "Efficient, Organized, and Great for Growing Firms"

December 19, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with TaxDome has been very positive. It’s a powerful, all-in-one platform that keeps our firm organized and running efficiently. Once everything is set up, workflows are smooth, communication is clear, and tasks are easy to track. The client portal improves collaboration and professionalism, and having documents, billing, and messaging in one place saves a lot of time. While there is a small learning curve at the beginning, the long-term benefits far outweigh it, making TaxDome a valuable tool for managing and growing a practice.

Pros

What I liked most about TaxDome is how it brings everything into one clean, easy-to-use platform. Having client communication, document management, workflows, billing, and task tracking all in one place saves a huge amount of time and keeps our work organized. The client portal is especially strong—it’s simple for clients to use and makes sharing documents and messages secure and efficient. Overall, TaxDome helps streamline processes, reduce back-and-forth, and makes managing a growing practice much more manageable.

Cons

One con of TaxDome is that the learning curve can feel a bit steep at first—especially for teams switching from multiple separate tools or less structured systems. Some features take a little time to fully understand and set up, but once you get past that initial adjustment, the platform becomes much easier and more intuitive to use.

### "10/10 Recommend for all your tax office needs!"

October 23, 2025

Taxdome has been very great at keeping us on track for completing client tasks in a timely manner and making sure no deadlines are missed. The client side of things is also very good and makes it easy for our clients to get in touch or provide us with missing info. It’s also great that clients are able to make payments through the portal and easily send a chat or a text with all of their questions. The team at TaxDome is constantly adding and making things better. Definitely recommend using TaxDome as a client database!

There isn’t really much to say in terms of cons of TaxDome. If there are any issues or something we think is missing, we let the team know and they make it happen or explain what can be done instead.

We have had this for year and continue to use. The constant upgrades make the experience more beneficial to all.

Pros

Very easy to use. Positive feedback from our clients and staff. Makes having all of our documents in one place very efficient and effective. Each year it gets better and better with their program enhancements.

Cons

Program bugs can interrupt productivity. Tax Dome is very helpful and resourceful when this happens and corrects the issue promptly.

### "TaxDome saves our firm so much time and keeps us on track!"

October 23, 2025

5.0

We love it, our clients love it, our team loves it. It's easy to use, secure, and again, the automations are so incredibly helpful. Anytime I've had to reach out to TaxDome support, I've received prompt and helpful solutions.

Pros

As the operation manager for our firm, I loooove the automated workflows. It helps us ensure that nothing slips through the cracks, and cuts so much time that we used to spend sending the same tempated messages.

Cons

I don't think there's anything major I dislike about TaxDome. The printer acts up a lot, and it would be helpful to be able to print in bulk, but other than that, I think pricing is the only other thing.
