It has been a great experience using TaxDome, and I hope that it will become our only source of planning, tracking workflow, communication with clients, and all other tasks we need.

Pros

The ability to communicate with the client where all team members can see the messages, and anyone can respond or pull the messages as needed.

Cons

I would like to see more color and more options for planning out the work (scheduling the workflow).

### "3 year user of TaxDome - we love it"

We are extremely happy with TaxDome (TD). TD listens to it's users and makes adjustments based upon requests. Love that. We bought it at the end of 2021 and have seen changes in the software (for the good) since then. The true key to it being a success is to constantly use it. Kind of like that piece of exercise equipment in your basement. Don't blame it for you not losing weight if you don't use it. Use TD as much as you can and you'll appreciate the efficiency of what it does. TD offers a lot and our clients seem to like it. We have about 1,100 client now so it comes in REALLY handy. Like everyone else, we have clients in their 70's, 80's (even 90's) who love it and use it just fine. But we also have clients in their 20's, 30's & 40's who find it "confusing". Bottom line is do what works for you and your firm. Because the way you process returns is different than me. So don't copy someone else's Workflow but instead create you own!

Pros

that it does things I didn't even know were a good idea. such as locking a tax return to an invoice. Cool! We also love the Workflows. That feature should be a necessity in every tax preparation firms arsenal.

Cons

Nothing I liked least BUT I will say, for us at least, it was like moving from a small Cessna plane to a Lear Jet. Holy smokes, the bells and whistles and things it can do require time to learn/use it. Point being, you're not gonna be a TaxDome pro the first year. Give it a few years.

### "Best Employee Ever"

I enjoy TD a ton. It has been easy to get my clients to adopt overall and has saved me time enough to put off hiring additional help.

Pros

I like that everything is so centralized. Keeping the client stuff in all one place and being able to see everything at a high level and also more granular helps keep the work managed well.

Cons

I wish we had the ability to connect to more than just QB as an accounting software. Also I wish we could have more ability to use additional filtering in automations.

Overall, it was positive—efficient client management once fully set up, but onboarding took some time.

Pros

The all-in-one platform made managing client documents and communication seamless. It syncs well with my other platforms.

Cons

The learning curve was a bit steep, especially for customization features. The support I received initially was great, but now it takes forever to get help.

It has replaced a large portion of our software stack and streamlined job tracking

Pros

Job Management tools, and the client experience is nice. We actually get compliments on the portal, which hasn't happened with any other portal that we've implemented in the past. The Pipelines help us to make sure no one slips through the cracks and improves client experience.

Cons

There are some features- like schedule send and appointment notifications- that I wish were included. Sometimes my clients bring me paperwork and also book an appointment, and the only way I know they have an appointment is to manually check acuity

TaxDome has really helped me manage my workflow during a very busy time (tax season) and the automations are perfect. The software helps me manage my day and communicate with my client throughout tax season.

Pros

I love the templates in TaxDome, created by accountants for accountants. The software is very easy to use for me and my clients.

Cons

I cannot think of anything I do not like about Tax Dome at this time.

### "Great Product"

I love it. I wished I had more time to learn all of the things it can do.

Pros

I love that the client's emails go directly to their account with no extra work from me.

Cons

Probably not a TaxDome issue, but a training issue - we tend to become overwhelmed with all of the documents coming in and are afraid we will miss something. In addition, it's difficult to determine when the client is really done uploading everything. They sometimes use the "done uploading" feature, but it's not always used properly.

### "Everything in one place!"

All in all I have had a good experience with support and with the entire program. It definitely has saved me time when completing tax returns and working with my clients in a more direct manner.

Pros

Love the client portal and being able to have everything in one place. Knowing when clients message or upload docs, keeps me well informed. Clients love the app which makes it easy for them to upload the documents.

Cons

It can be a little confusing when you are not tech savvy and takes a little longer to get it to where you are really comfortable.

Honestly, I consider it the cornerstone of my practice. Having TaxDome minimizes the probability of headaches down the line as my practice grows. Can't see myself running my practice as efficiently, without it.

Mainly how inexpensive it is for all that it offers compared to the competition.

There's a bit of a learning curve. Although there are plenty of training videos to get you up to speed.

Learning to use TaxDome has been a learning curve, mostly with pipelines. But all the free resources have made it easy.

Pros

TaxDome is efficient and user friendly. Both for the client and the firm. TaxDome has many free resources available to put you in the best position for success, including bootcamps, webinars, the academy and one-on-one trainings. All of which are free.

Cons

Learning how to use pipelines. The bootcamp was a bit overwhelming, especially since I'd been using TaxDome for a year already, just hadn't been trained specifically for pipelines.

### "Over all - a good system"

I believe this to be highly recommended as a secure portal for our customers. I think there are somethings that I would change but over all it is a good system.

Pros

I like the ease of being able to get confidential info to and from our customers. It is secure and I feel good that we offer the best service to our customers.

Cons

It logs us out all the time. We are only allowed two in the system at a time so we are being kicked out a few times a day.

### "Sticking with TaxDome"

Pros

What I appreciate most about the TaxDome system is that it is pretty straightforward. The training is top-notch if you take the time to do it. The help desk is beneficial and they provide you with all the tools you need to succeed. We specifically like the fact that videos are accessible to see how most of the tasks are done. The ability to customize our back-office and the customer view has been a great tool to help us grow.

Cons

Sometimes the system can be overloaded due to how popular and how quickly the TaxDome system has grown which is a good thing for the company but can be improved for the clients. I don't like the fact that they took live help away from some of the clients that were here early on but hopefully as we grow then we can grow with that part of the system as well.

Pros

It is easy to learn and implement with many instructional videos and support links. Having worked with more complex CRM's, TaxDome has everything I need in any easy to use format. It's also easy to train new users.

Cons

Have not had any negative's of note. I used TaxDome at a prior firm before starting my own firm and had no hesitation in continuing to ulitize it.

My experience so far has been a pleasure. My representative explained everything to me and helped me figure out what would work for my practice.

Pros

I like the ease of the setup; I waited until far too late to buy the program, but I am able to use it this year for document exchange, secure messaging, and e-signing. Next year I will also employ the pipelines.

Cons

I wish I could employ other payment options besides Stripe and CPACharge.

Has taken time (and will need more) to completely master TD and everything it offers. Our firm has spent a considerable amount of time, effort, and costs, to build out the pipelines. But once it's setup and learned how to do it, it's an excellent system.

Pros

The client facing user experience (app, clicking around), and the internal user experience make it very easy to use.

Cons

I wish we could modify excel files from within the portal. Rather than having to download it or access the file from the file driver, I wish we could have excel files be editable directly from the TD portal in web browser. I also wish we could use the time tracking for firm staff that do not have TD accounts. We have staff that do not have TD accounts. Time sheets are submitted outside of TD, the staff who use TD submit timesheets in TD. Then we need to compile both sets of timesheet data.

TaxDome is a learning curve to get it up and running. Once you start using it, making mistake and fixing them, it runs pretty smoothly.

Pros

Keeps all my clients and documents organized.

Cons

That TD changed their pricing structure. The email feature is a little cumbersome and I still link it to my Microsoft email so I don't miss something, which takes extra time.

We were excited to use this product and signed a 3-year contract but have been extremely disappointed with the white glove implementation. And assistance with setting up reporting etc.

Pros

the product shows potential, and clients have adopted it more easily.

Implementation support has been poor. the product doesn't have easy to use reporting to flag tax uploads etc.

### "Great if you A LOT of time to set it up"

Feel like it was a bait and switch. Sales people hype this white glove onboarding. I saw none of that and have had to spend countless hours and thousands of dollars to make the program work for my small practice. AND it still isn't completely right....work in progress for almost 2 years now.

Pros

Multifaceted ability to manage client data and workflows. The features almost outweigh the frustration. Product is great if you are tech savvy!

Cons

Lack of real time customer support. Troubleshooting can be extremely difficult. Inability to talk to a person and needing to go back and forth with tech support via email is an inefficient methodology. Complexity of the program makes it very difficult to set up without an IT dept or paid consults.

Tax Dome has been an excellent change to our Tax and bookkeeping office. We tried many other platforms and in each platform there was always something that we still needed that another platform had and we were paying for several different platforms at once. Tax Dome has provided everything we need with one platform subscription.

Pros

Tax Dome essentially has everything you need in one platform for bookkeeping and tax businesses. It is user friendly, and you can do so many things with Tax Dome.

Cons

There are some time out issues and you have to refresh the application.
