Pros I love that the client's emails go directly to their account with no extra work from me. Cons Probably not a TaxDome issue, but a training issue - we tend to become overwhelmed with all of the documents coming in and are afraid we will miss something. In addition, it's difficult to determine when the client is really done uploading everything. They sometimes use the "done uploading" feature, but it's not always used properly. I STRONGLY recommend investing in the Onboarding services provided by TaxDome. Work smarter, not harder. \[sensitive content hidden\] was so patient with me, letting me lead with my questions, but also clearly having an itinerary for me to follow so we could make good progress through each lesson. When I needed extra help, she was quick to make it happen. She listened to what I wanted for MY company, and also showed me other options to consider. I will be telling EVERYONE that this IS the best tool for your tax practice after your tax software! Pros Once it is set up, it really does move clients automatically to the next step. I sent out Activation emails to 388 clients. In less than 48 hours, >150 clients had started the onboarding process - Engagement Letter, Deposit Invoice, Organizer. This many clients would normally have taken us about 10 days to get this far. Cons Because it is so robust, it really takes some time to get the first pipeline set up. But once you do......hold on! Clients are being taken care of! Locking invoices to returns is a huge plus. Cons Updates that occur sporadically and without warning, so that I may be working on something and the screen changes when I navigate away briefly (i.e. a new tab appears, or visually things are rearranged, etc.). This isn't a huge deal but it can be disruptive. " February 19, 2025 5.0 I have been very pleased and feel I have only touched the tip of the iceberg in my usage. Each month I learn more and get a new appreciation for this tool I have. Pros The ease of movement to keep up with our busy office. Mostly, I appreciate the staff they employ to help us when we need to create or solve a new movement in our system pipeline. Cons The cost. E-sign and proposals are also a nice all in one touch Workflow should be good but I have not yet figured that part all out - my main issue was getting clients to get me the info I need and to have some automatic reminders and organizers and a client portal Cons Pipeline is a bit hard to figure out - tad hard to use the document area when you are reviewing a tax return - often when you click the back button or close document it brings you back to the client list vs being back in the client folder that you were working in. February 11, 2025 5.0 We had been looking at TaxDome for a few years but kept pushing it off since we had another program that did just secure document storage and ... we didn't want to upset our clients with moving to another program after they got used to the one we had. So after a lot of back and forth with the sales team at TaxDome, we decided to just go with it. In the beginning, it was very overwhelming. The pipeline can look very daunting but with a little help, it gets easier to figure out. eventually, you will wonder what you did without it. We use it every day during the tax season. Pros The program is very user-friendly. Everything is in one place from client information to notes to documents. The cellphone app makes the process even easier for our clients. Cons When tagging a client in tasks, the system does not tag the client's account. This makes it difficult to tag a client in a task and then go to the pipeline and tag them again. They (the client) can use the portal to see where there return is without having to call which makes it easier for them. Cons Adding multiple clients to 1 account. When there is a family, it is hard to get them all on the same account. I have used karbon and Adom and have found this platform the best overall. Pros I like the program has the capacity to allow our tax firm to create pipelines/jobs that work with our office flow, and we are not stuck with a generic platform. I like the streamline of sending and receiving messages/data to clients through the platform. Clients like the easy access and functionality of the app. Cons I find it hard to keep up with all the information streaming into the platform and making sure no messages are missed, or client uploads are missed. I wish it had a centralized place that shows new messages from all clients that you can click on instead of having to clicking into the clients/accounts tab for each one.
