The TaxDome team is always improving their product by taking customer input into account.

Cons

The dashboard could be more robust in regards to reporting features. I wish there was an area to track profitability of clients.

### "One-Stop-Shop for Accountants"

I have been able to drastically reduce other subscriptions in my technology stack by approximately $2,300/year by leveraging Tax Dome.

Pros

I love that billing, client portal, document sharing, and communications between the firm and the client is so seamless! I use this to manage my practice and scale services in one place. This has been a huge time saver for me without having to switch between multiple systems just to send a email or request key documents.

Cons

At this moment, TaxDome doesn't allow for reoccurring payments for monthly clients but this is on their roadmap for implementation. Additionally, just understanding where "FIRM LEVEL" documents can be stored for team use is another place to understand how to be more efficient. I was able to solve for this by making my firm an account and portal to use just like clients! Lastly, I do think it is a huge upfront investment when you have a team of 5 or more, but the annual savings is key here.

### "TaxDome is a Miracle Software!!"

Pros

Using features in TaxDome such as pipelines have changed the way we provide Tax Compliance services. Not only has it enabled us to learn more about our processes and inefficiencies, but it has also eliminated almost all of the "downtime" in between steps of the process, such as gathering information from clients or getting a review done on a tax return.TaxDome enables us to stay on top of tax management by automating so much of the processes and administrative work that used to take up so much of our time. Examples include the e-signing function which takes care of the entire process of obtaining signatures as well as the document locking feature which automatically unlocks the tax return once the client's invoice has been paid.

Cons

The most difficult part was the initial set up process when we integrated TaxDome into our processes. However, even when we had trouble in setting up pipelines or templates the unlimited live help was invaluable and I can say with certainty that we never once felt alone during the entire process.

### "Great Overall All-In-One Software But Client Communication Needs Improvement"

One other thing that can be cleaned up is the Academy. Just having a list of a hundred videos is difficult to find what I am looking for. If this was organized better, I may learn better ways to utilize TD.

Pros

I like the security and the portal the most. It is one of the most important needs. The workflows can be made as complex or as simple as I would like and they make work more efficient.

Cons

I would like the ability to edit documents directly in the TD environment. The messaging feature is severely lacking. It would be nice if there was a main messaging page in the left panel. It would bring up a list of all messages, instead of having to go to the client then to their messages. As we do more than just taxes, and we offer bookkeeping services, it would be nice if we could link QBO to TD in a way that when the account Uncategorized Expenses in QBO, TD would send a chat out asking what the transaction was for. The would be able to select from the list of accounts currently in QBO.

### "Lots of functionality. Looking forward to getting it all setup."

Very time consuming setup but hopeful that my work in tax season and later will allow my process be more streamlined, offer more consistent service to clients, and have less room for jobs, tasks etc to be missed or late. Looking forward to reducing work time and enjoying more living.

Pros

Being able to submit contracts, emails etc. in bulk or to filtered groups of clients. Setting up a consistent practice of communication with clients at each step of the process. I'm using a service - Workflows 4 TaxPros to help set up - very helpful. As a result I have not used the support offered by the product. I like the conditional formatting of the organizer.

Cons

Lots of setup on the front end. Would like to be able to sort tags (used to filter, track status) by color code since I'm using colors for various types of jobs. Would like to be able to look at the details of 'library templates' (contracts etc) before I add them to my list of elements. Currently you must duplicate them to your own firm list before seeing. I wish it had an integrated calendar program. More templates would be helpful.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

It had the requisite functions with workflow, emails, engagement letters, private messaging, uploads, invoicing and payments. But, the tipping point was the recommendation from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] office (FB Accounting Firm Influencers). My next upgrade will be the Certified Consierge Accountant program offered by \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\].

### "Great suite of tools at a great value! "

I wish I would have known about this product a few years ago. Great for firms just getting started and will save you a ton of time. The application is robust but still kept in an easy-to-use interface. I'm excited about how this will help me improve the quality of services we deliver to our clients. Zapier integration will be interesting once I really start to leverage that.

Pros

1\. The built-in templates are hugely helpful and make it easy to begin rolling out the workflow automation as opposed to having to build everything from scratch. 2. The accounting integrations with Stripe and QuickBooks are perfect! They keep my systems in sync and I save a ton of time from having to do a bunch of manual steps. 3. Customer service/on-boarding was awesome; rep answered all my questions and helped me figure out the Pipelines a lot easier than me having to do it by trial and error. 4. Mapped drive capability is awesome. Another huge time-saver.

Cons

Modifying organizers can sometimes be a bit quirky. Plus, it closes out the window every time you save and you have to open it again - which is a time-waster. Hopefully, they'll improve this over time.

TaxDome incorporated the most important pieces needed to effectively run my business and packaged it at a cost that was reasonable relative to some of the other providers who nickel and dime for modules such as "Workflows" or "QuickBooks integration"... and it has one of the most user-friendly mobile apps I've seen in this space.

### "There's a lot to like but it isn't perfect"

customer support is bad - you can only chat with someone - and most things are escalated to the next level of support but it can take several days days/weeks to get things resoved. there is a lot of info on how to set things up and use the software but it can't answer everythingit's been a ton of work setting up process workflow even after signing up for an expensive program to guide me in the process - i hope I can finish the workflows and get them to work righti have two annual licenses and will need 2-4 monthly licenses - which is very pricey

### "Mostly great platform that has a lot to offer"

Overall, I've had a great experience so far (though it's only been a couple weeks). However, a few frustrating roadblocks have soured things a little. Without a doubt, the platform solves far more problems than it creates or misses the mark on. I think that by next season, with automations properly set up and some procedures fine-tuned based on my experiences this year, it will be a much smoother process, especially after discovering workarounds for the things that TaxDome cannot do as one would expect.

Pros

The integrated and customizable organizers are pretty great. The logic aspect of them means you can make one master organizer to handle all 1040s instead of having to create different ones for different people or new clients vs existing ones. Within this master organizer, only the relevant questions show based on your clients' answers, so they aren't bombarded with 200 questions irrelevant to their tax situations. The automations also have the potential to save a lot of time and take care of client communication that you wouldn't normally do (eg. status updates) but make the client feel more engaged and seen.

Cons

The file uploader on the website is frustrating for clients to use. You should be able to choose the folder you want to upload files into instead of them all going to the root directory automatically. If someone is an above-average computer user, they'll be fine figuring out the extra steps to upload files then select and move them to the correct place, but I'd expect TaxDome to have made this more user-friendly with the goal of the platform being simplicity. It would also be nice to be able to change things like an organizer after it has been deployed to clients, but that cannot be done. If you send another organizer to cover the things missed, it sends another notification and email to the clients. In my experience, if you bombard anyone with multiple emails or notifications, they will inevitably block or ignore them, which then detracts heavily from the system.

To do so, they will just have to drag and drop the document from their computer to the folder in TaxDome. However, using the Upload document button will allow them just to upload the documents to the Client's Uploaded Documents folder. There is a request on our Feature Request Board for this, and also for the organizer. ### "Saving me so much time"

TaxDome has eliminated so many of my tracking spreadsheets and freed up so much time for me. The client portal is a serious upgrade from what I was using before as well.

Pros

I love the task management and pipeline features of Tax dome. Automating tasks is a lifesaver.

Cons

I would like to see more time tracking features, being able to have my team clock in and out for the day, and then track their time across all tasks and breaks would really be helpful and eliminate another bulky spreadsheet. Also the addition of a budget for each task, so we can track the budgeted time for each task/job and compare to the actual time our employees spent on it.

### "All in one software "

The overall experience with Taxdome was good. I wouldn't say great because its always room for improvement. I like the fact that you can request new features. TaxDome is a great all in one system that can replace a lot of other software which can bring cost down.

Pros

This software solved 99% of my problems. The automation is the greatest and the best feature. It keeps my client from flooding me with millions of phone calls but the feel secure that I'm working on their project because the automatic emails goes out with every step completed through the process. It eliminate the thousand of emails that come everyday and the process of having to file all the attachments. With the client portal the clients can upload their documents via computer or app. The emails can also come directly in the software into the clients account. How great is that for a filing system. The automation is not that easy to figure out but with all the videos and the on boarding session once you get it it flows very well. The security level is great as well.

Cons

I didn't like that it was limited payment processing. I use Square and Quickbooks and to have my funds going to through another processor dosen't work for me. I didn't like the fact that your repeat client can't signup on line and you create a workflow for them. I would like more flexibility with making changes on the sign up page. I wish they had a support number where you can call and talk to a live person. I think the software is price low enough for them to add a additional fee to be able to talk to a live person. I think the should have a technical person with the on boarding session. My IT person was on the session and his question couldn't be answered.

### "This will revolutionize my firm"

There is a lot of set-up involved, and it can be daunting. However, I am eager for the day when I everything is set up and fine tuned to streamline my whole business.

Pros

I like the automation capabilities, and the fact that I can put a deliverable behind a paywall. Also, embedded organizers, engagements letters, and signatures...game changer. All at a reasonable price!

Cons

I wish I could have enable progress billing on an account. I require a 60% deposit from my clients to begin work, so it would nice if I can automate the 1st bill (60% of the total), then the 2nd bill (Remaining 40%).

### "Great software"

Pros

I like that the software has a lot of modules that I needed without me having to pay per user per module. Also, I love the client portal. Easy to use for the clients and looks great on their end.

Cons

I do think that the time tracking and the workflows could be easier to use. The invoice template is a little clunky and I wish I could have better editing to the actual invoice. However, for the price I am willing to learn the workflow and probably will use zapier to integrate a time clock system.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

I love the look of the client portal and that you can use one dashboard for everything. I wish the pipielines, jobs and tasks were a bit easier to use but I know that is a learning curve. The tax dome academy to walk you through the process is great.

Tech support is fantastic! It's a little overwhelming to get everything migrated over but I know once that everything is set it will be a time saver!

Pros

I like that I can handle the day in and day out administration all in one place. So many options. I wish that I had found this software at the start up of my business.

Cons

I think that the set up of pipelines is more difficult than it needs to be.

On a scale of one to ten with ten being the highest. I want to give it a 9 with the reservation once I have it up and fully running it will be a ten. I believe in the product but there is so much to learn I am learning the product so that is why I am currently at level nine.

Pros

I love the fact my emails will sync with my clients so all emails and there sometimes is a lot of them will show on the client page. The ability to take notes on a client.

Cons

The set up videos the presenters go way to fast we had to watch several videos numerous times to try to follow what was happening.

Pros

Secure client portal, workflows allow for managing of various jobs and deadlines

Cons

Some features are missing ie notification to team members when a job moves to them in the pipeline. Currently only available for tasks.

Just getting started but very happy so far

Pros

Customer service/support, integrations, true workflow functionality with task dependencies and automation.

Cons

1) Organizer function that requires clients to upload specific documents based on answers to org questions -- for instance, if the user checks 1099 income, must upload 1099.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

Among other things, pricing. I think it's unconscionable to charge twice as much to use the program on a month-to-month basis. That pricing strategy tells me that their customers are unhappy in early days and don't stick with it, either because onboarding is a nightmare or they don't deliver what they promised.

1) They do not have true workflows with task dependencies and automation -- every task in a workflow is dumped on the assignee's dashboard at once. 2) They lied/misled me about their functionality 3) 15+ hour outage during tax season and very poor communication with their clients -- the news was on social media for hours before they ever contacted their clients, their "explanation" had huge holes in it. 4) Credit card processing time unbelievably slow -- 10 days to get paid at one point. 5) Required tech support nearly every single day because things didn't work as advertised or the system glitched.

### "Just The Tool Needed to Help My Virtual Firm Scale to that Next Level"

I am looking for a streamline process where I can see the flow as to how things move in my virtual accounting and taxation firm and this will allow me to do that while automating workflows. That alone will save me so much time as I put this together.

Pros

Currently I am only going to be using a few of the options that are in the software and am going to transition my clients into using more of the software over the next year. My primary thing that I am looking for is using the CRM, Email and Automated Workflow Options. Oh yeah the unlimited e-signatures is a plus, because I have been going back and forth in between systems and this has been costing my time. I love the fact that I will be able to just come into one system, and watch the workflows go and clearly be able to know when clients AND prospects have done what I need them to do. I want to know as much about client needs before that initial touch point and I know that this is the tool that my firm needs to be able to do just that as we scale.

Cons

Honestly I couldn't locate the webinars easily. I am not saying that I wanted to avoid the Demos, but I would love to have know where the webinars were located sooner so that I could watch the videos since I signed up on a weekend.

### "A Must Have for Any Practice"

Pros

Tax Dome was easy to use and the direct-to-portal print feature has saved us so much time and energy. It has so many features that we were using separately and was costing us a fortune. I would make this a mandatory part of the setup process for any firm.

Cons

I would like to see more text capabilities. A lot of our clients are on the go and respond to text a lot quicker than emails.

### "Saved Our Firm"

TaxDome has saved our firm. There is no way we would have survived tax season with out it. I highly recommend this product. It brings everything all into one place. Document storage, portal and work dashboard.

Pros

This is super easy to use and get set up. Our clients love the portal. We love how status updates can be automatically sent to the client to keep them in the loop of what stage their tax return is in. Customer service is amazing. If you have questions, there is a chat feature and they respond very quickly. Since this is a new product they are always adding new features. We like how there is a to do list & kanban view of tasks. We also love the messages feature where you can send direct messages to the client.

Cons

This is a new product so there are still a few features missing. They are working on adding e-signature for 8879's which would have been great to have during tax season. They are adding new features all the time so hopefully this will be available soon. It would be nice to be able to put notes on the face of the kanban cards so you can see them by just glancing at them and not having to open them up. There is no way of knowing if documents have already been downloaded. If a client uploads tax documents, there is no way to know if anyone else in the firm has already downloaded them or if new documents have been uploaded there is no way to distinguish them.
