Very good so far. Just moving from Free Trial. All the support I need to set up automation appears to be there with the ability to schedule 45 minute sessions with staff to help me get my automation built out.

Pros

Portal Management seems easy to use. No issues to date.

Cons

No complaints so far. Getting my head around setting up all of the automation feels a bit daunting, at least initially. Should be ok as I gain more experience, use the Academy to learn more, and work with support staff.

Very happy. Has exceeded my expectations.

Pros

still new to the software, but love the ease of use and ease of on-boarding, we have a dedicated agent to help with getting everything set up, and he is very generous with his time at no extra charge, workflow and task management is excellent although a little complicated to learn at the outset, love that the client portal, document management, and client email retention are all integrated

Cons

I like the smart organizer, but it does not have the ability to import data from Lacerte. Therefore we have to send the organizer to clients in two pieces, the questionnaire through Tax Dome and the data/document checklist portion by a separate pdf via email. Would like to see Tax Dome have the ability to pull this data from Lacerte and send a checklist and fillable worksheets (such as Sch E and Sch C) as part of the organizer.

### "Reasonably Priced and Tremendous Power"

Pros

The workflow management tools are far superior to other software we used and the customer support team is excellent.

Cons

I consider myself well-versed in software and found that TaxDome was a bit overwhelming at first due to some nomenclature barriers: e.g. contacts vs. accounts; pipelines vs. jobs vs. tasks and the related templates. The UI is also a bit clunky and a bit dated.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

TaxDome has better workflow management and offers kanban style views of a workflow to have a good visual sense of a workflow and being able to segregate jobs based on which pipeline they're in(sometimes I want to look at just the bookkeeping work without seeing every single tax return and vice-versa). The automation features in TaxDome appear very promising.

Canopy had some issues of data-loss since it used a clumsy download/upload process in the background for editing files in the document management. I've lost a lot of work during tax season that didn't get uploaded back. TaxDome's files appear as a virtual Z: network drive that interface with any Windows application in a traditional manner. Canopy also is two expensive and double-dips on price by charging firms both on # of employees and # of clients

As for the document loss in Canopy, we have no such issues in TaxDome. The TaxDome drive is virtual, and you can access all the documents as long as you are logged to the desktop app and have a connection. Blow away. I fell in love with this software the first day of the trialCustomer support was awesome, friendly and patient.

Pros

I have been searching for years for a solution to everything that Tax Dome is capable of.The money you spend here you save on no longer needing Dropbox, Docusign and other software.It's all here in one place and much more secure!!

Cons

I know it is on it's way. I am a QuickBooks Live Senior Analyst who works for Inuit as well as my own practice. It would be great if we had the QBOA sync of live data.

In the past, virtual tax preparation was handled manually. If one person didn't do their job it would mess up the entire process. The client's experience was horrible. They would just sit by the phone and wait for a call. The workflow management updates the client every step of the way. Onboarding used to take 30 to 45 minutes. It now takes seconds then the software does the rest.

Pros

It would have to be workflow management along with the fact that the whole tax preparation process can be handled within one software. It is done by either the computer or the mobile app.

Cons

Right now he integrates with calendar really and other calendars. I would like to see it have its own calendar.

I watched the pre-recorded demo, attended the live demo - which was so great to be able to speak with voice (vs chat is an option) live with humans at the end of the demo! So helpful! Then speaking to \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] in tech support when I had more questions throughout the trial, especially questions that weren't answered on the site. I just subscribed and took advantage of the option to review for an additional free month to my account. At first I was hesitant about the cost, but once I realized all that was included and the money I won't need to spend next year (secure portal elsewhere), and to have the website hosting included - that brings the costs to very reasonable!! I'm hoping that doesn't change drastically once I'm all set up!

Pros

I really like that this seems to be an all-in-one product! I looked at many firm management products and TaxDome seems to have everything I was looking for plus several additional options that I never expected to be taken care of by a firm management software. Such as the website - I don't need a complex site right now. I'm super excited for this next tax season to have the portal and all client aspects in one spot! The KBA e-signature authorization is perfect too!

Cons

There is a pause when moving between screens. That gets frustrating. But I'm noticing that with more cloud-based software (QBO, Gusto). Some tasks seem cumbersome - there could be short cuts on the current screen to go back to enter another of the same, such as manual time entry. Once one is entered, to go back to enter more takes MANY clicks and screen waits.

Pros

The product is easy to navigate, with much more fluids craters than it’s competitors. Everything I need is at my fingertips and clients are adjusting well.

Cons

It’s more difficult to learn the automotive workflows, but that is mostly due to me learning during peak season. I just don’t have the time to dedicate to learning as I need to right now.

Taxdome offers so much more. Once you factor in that a website and domain are included, customer service is fantastic, the help videos are amazing, and it’s so user friendly once you learn the basics- it was a no brainer.

Taxaroo is a great idea and has some useful tools, but there are lots of restriction such as limits on exporting dating, glitches in the organizers, doesn’t track certain aspects that managing a tax business require. I tried working with the support team but it took days to get a response vi chat and no one ever answered the customer service number - not one single time I was a user.

Pros

Right when I think that they haven't thought about something I want, I discover it. Their support is ready and available when I need it -- and even late at night when they're offline! I am very pleased and it takes a lot to make me want to make the move.

Cons

There is not much to complain about coming from Canopy. What I would say is that I wished the "onboarding" was a more hands-on approach -- however, I respect their process because it has helped me learn the program so much more!

### "it is a good product but has too many bugs"

It is a good product for managing tasks and integrating with Drake software, but they raise the price to $800 for each user if you buy only one year. It has so many bugs that I cannot count them. You have a new one almost every week, and they do not fix it quickly.

Pros

It helps manage the tasks and has some integration with Drake software. It has support to at least listen to you.

Cons

OMG, it has too many bugs. I cannot count how many bugs we had in 2023. It is really difficult to rely on the software. It takes some time so they can fix the issue (if you are lucky, a week).

So far it's great! We believe this will be a game changer when it comes to managing our workload this next busy season.

Pros

We like the fact we now have a all in one portal, document storage, workflow management, and CRM in one place.

Cons

I wish I could open all the client files at once to see everything. I wish is was a little easier to move files between related accounts - If someone uploads a document to there entity account, that should be in their individual account, it's a little cumbersome to move it to the correct account.Printing from Drake when using Right Networks. It can be done, but it costs quite a bit more.

I refer this system to all my friends.

Pros

TaxDome has helped us service over 300 clients. We were able to send them engagement letters, collect signatures, communicate, and easily oversee multiple jobs/tasks. Building the workflows took some time but once they were up and running, it was a smooth process.The biggest pro for us was seeing the system consistently improve. Every few weeks we'd see changes and it made us feel like the team really cares about building a better system. It feels like we're growing with TaxDome.

Pros

Working with automations has relieved a lot of work in our practice.

Cons

When we review docs to work, we rename them. We previously used the browser but it was taking too long to rename, click save and move forward to the next.

Pros

I loved that it encompasses so many of the different types of software into one, even to include a website creation at no extra costs. This streamlines a business and cuts down on costs. I was looking for this since I started my business and glad I gave Tax Dome a chance.

Cons

I don't like the fact that you have to pay for a year subscription up front. I wish there was an option to pay monthly.

It solved the problem of being cost efficient for having all of the practice management software that I needed in one.

I like that clients documents can be stored here and be accessed at any time. I also like the invoice feature.

I least like that isn't compatible with my scheduling app

### "Amazing Tax Dome"

My over all experience with tax dome is really amazing and recommendable.

Pros

What I like the most this application Tax Dome is that all the feature are there except for scheduling. But over all it is a user friendly app and easy to navigate and a really helpful for my business task. It is highly recommendable.

Cons

The only cons that I found out is that a quite expensive for me. but over all it is highly recommendable.

I am currently using SmartVault and am not completely satisfied with its capabilities. So, I decided to give TaxDome Trial a try. I have to say it's the best decision I have made this year. TaxDome's capabilities exceed SmartVault's by far. I will no longer be using SmartVault, I am now a TaxDome user.

Pros

I love the variety of features.The Tax Academy Email SyncingInformation in one place for both me and my clients to access.Customizations

Cons

Invoicing needs improvements. I would like to be able to receive payments through QuickBooks, Venmo and PayPal and it come through automatically. More templates would be nice.

### "leveling up your tax business"

I love it I feel like it’s my tax business. It gives me more time to do other things and back and things and as we all know, time is money.

Pros

What I like most about Tax is the CRM system and also the document management enable to give and store clients documents or they’re able to get instant access to their things without asking me for consistently

Cons

what I like least about Tax it’s not just user-friendly. You have to go to some trainings to figure out the automation or pay someone to do it so you’re not just gonna jump in and have it already set up as soon as you pay the cost so it’s an additional fee to have someone out automated but luckily, I found Carmen from Elite notary to for an affordable price

Pros

All in one features that eliminates the need to use multiple other applications. Clients staying on your website, increase SEO and brand recognition.

Cons

Clients can not see the status of engagements. Financial Dashboard integration with QuickBooks. Not great with providing quotes or tracking CRM
