Tax Dome has been a great program so far and it has assisted my office go paperless and maintain more organized.

Pros

Tax Dome is easy to use and set up. They have great instructional videos and if you need help with set up they have the support you need. The program offers a wide variety of features that are crucial in helping a business keep organized and in contact with clients.

Cons

The only feature I would love Tax Dome to incorporate would be the ability to send, receive and store client's text messages.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

I have tested many other programs and Tax Dome always had the upper hand.

Easy to use, i have access to a lot of feature that i need for my company.

Cons

The tax section with QBO don't have two tax and i'm in Québec City.

### "Great Accounting Firm Management Tool"

Overall, it was an excellent decision to move. TaxDome does many things better and they are constantly improving it with feature updates.

Pros

I love that it is becoming an all-in-one solution. We've been able to replace an expensive portal, another document management tool and another workflow management tool.

Cons

It does not have robust time tracking and invoicing. I would love to be able to replace QB Time. I wish the integration to QuikBooks was better. We used Pandadoc for contracts but still need it for certain forms (like ACH form). TaxDome does not have a forms feature or options on a contract for clients to opt in or out.

### "TD Overview"

We're very pleased.

Pros

Being able to lock the returns and e-file signatures until payment is made will be huge. There is a lot of setup that goes into getting TD where we needed it, but it was worth the time spent.

Cons

Not being able to pull information from our tax software and needing to create accounts and contact info for the same client.

### "They make you pay a year in advance for a reason"

I am nearing my 3rd month since paying for the full year license and still do not feel confident in trusting TD to keep my practice on schedule. Finding email messages as "unsent" when I look at them in outlook (but had no indication of an issue when I "sent" them via TaxDome) was my final straw this week and I am now feeling absolutely defeated by TaxDome.

Pros

I was impressed with the client portal and paid for the 1 year license based on that ...

Everything else ... (besides the portal)

### "Very Impactful to Streamline Processes"

We moved from manually creating project trackers and checklists for our tax returns process into TaxDome. The automation and ease of use that we've gotten with TaxDome this past season was a huge improvement in our internal processes and in time spent per return. We were able to leverage the tools TaxDome provides but still keep a personal touch on our communications and interaction with our clients.

Pros

Once set up, the automations and pipelines work very smoothly to keep each tax job moving through the process.Customer account team is great and knowledgeable - they respond quickly and have helped us think through some of our unique situations to find workarounds to automate as many processes as possible.Once you are used to the navigation, it is easy to move from one area to another.Collecting all signatures from clients within the portal is a HUGE time saver.

Cons

We have found that our users who are not using it daily are less comfortable and find the navigation confusing.Would like to be able to cc additional email addresses when sending emails directly from TaxDome.

We don't currently have a way to add CC when sending emails from TaxDome but as long as your team members are following the accounts, they will get a notification on their Inbox+ and they can view the email thread from there. ### "Such a great tool"

Being able to quickly communicate with a client the status of their tax return without having to stop and find the physical file is the biggest life saver for us.

Pros

This software enables us to get rid of 3 other software subscriptions that did not integrate. Having one product, one login, to do so many things in one place is a phenomenal time saver. We really love the email integration with client records. The firm has been using a manual work around for this kind of feature for years that is time intensive.

Cons

An in-office chat feature would be nice and for total client management the ability for clients to schedule, confirm, and/or cancel appointments would be great. However, these are not deal breakers for us.

With TaxDome we were able diversify our accounting services and add subscription base services. TaxDome features allowed us to diversify our products and services and increase revenue streams.

Pros

We love that our clients love it! It's secure, easy to exchange information, documents and connect us with them. Also the ability to build customizable workflows and delegate tasks to our internal staff is so amazing.

Cons

Setting up workflows and automation can take sometime. However, once the workflows and automation are up and running, you'll fall in love with the seamless process.

Overall, my experience has been great, and I am sure that I will like it even more as I get more proficient with using all the tools that TaxDome offers.

Pros

The software is user friendly, and TaxDome customer support goes above and beyond to help you get setup and learn more features about the software. The white glove onboarding sessions are AWESOME!!!

Cons

The online training videos in TaxDome Academy go way to fast and are hard to follow when you are first starting out.

TaxDome offered more of what I was looking for as a complete package for document management and Client Resource Management. The item that put you over the top is the unlimited portals and storage.

Pros

I was looking for several different features for managing my practice in order to get it ready for growth - with a few of the other CRM tools I was looking at, it was going to require heavy configuration and hefty consulting rates. When I found tax dome I found that many of the features I needed were already built in. Excited to see how the program ultimately functions in a live setting - but it certainly looks like it will meet my needs.

Cons

So far so good - a little disappointed in support for now. I had a 45 minute call with a representative on a Thursday and was promised a follow-up message by the next day. It's been a week and I've sent two emails to them and still no response. Even if my issues aren't resolved yet - it would be nice to have at least received an acknowledgement.

### "Good Value with A Couple Workarounds"

I looked far and wide for a tech stack that will work for me. I wanted to get rid of my file sharing software because uploads were disabled by default and I got tired of changing it every single time. I also needed a workflow solution. I haven't worked much with the workflow side of it but looking forward to having a good tool. This replaces sync.com, jotform, asana, my CRM, and any time tracking apps.

Pros

I like the desktop integrated client files function, client file requests, client messaging, mobile app availability, the organizers, and look/feel of the custom branded portal. I also needed a legit KBA solution that wasn't DocuSign. I like that you can integrate with Zapier (mostly for Calendar bookings). I like that this integrated with CPA Charge, although I was disappointed that I wasn't able to make it work with my monthly billing. I also like that they partnered with TaxAct, which I was thinking about switching to for next year (from Drake).

Cons

It's definitely a jack-of-all trades type software, which is both good and bad. I didn't like that I couldn't set up monthly recurring subscriptions, and that there was no text entry option when requesting e-signatures, so no way to fill and sign a form in the same page. I ended up tag teaming this with Practice Ignition and Adobe Pro/Adobe Sign. I still use KBAs for tax forms. Overall, this was still the best solution for me, and customer service is ACTIVELY working on making some of the improvements that I mentioned so I may be able to drop some of the other things later, but this isn't a deal breaker as my tech stack is still way smaller than before. I wish they had a native calendar booking function.

I am still using Practice Ignition in combination with TaxDome, but liked the user friendliness and customer service of TaxDome more than any other platform I tried.

### "I Finally Found it!!!"

I have been very pleased during the trial period and have already upgraded. This software will enchance my work flow management and I am very excited.

Pros

I extremely like the fact that you can get a complete overview of your client. This helps with the ease of client management, billing and task. The clients are able to accept the invite and very easily and quickly start using their client portal. I have had no complaints thus far.

Cons

When setting up a new contact - that process was a little difficult to do initially. You have to start typing before the option to "add new contact" is visible.

Pros

What I like most about TaxDome is that it keeps track of every single job and task that our firm needs to complete. Everyone is on the same page when using TaxDome and there is no need to micromanage, because TaxDome does it for you (In a good way)!

Cons

The thing I like least is the lack of small features that go a long way. However, If you submit feature requests, the lack of small features can potentially be improved. But at the moment, that is my least favorite thing about TaxDome.

### "Finally an all in one solution!"

TaxDome is a really great all in one solution for taxpractices. It looks good, its easy for clients to use, they have had nothing but good things to say about it. It needs e-signature improvements to truly replace docusign or signnow but it works well for most things. They added multiple features just during my trial period so I know more updates are coming.

Pros

I love that everything for managing clients, file sharing, gathering and requesting documents and the smart email inbox, is all in one place. I have been using a number of solutions that don't integrate thoroughly to achieve these things and finally i can have all these features in one place at a fair price. I am very happy with it. It does have shortcomings in some areas but they are constantly improving it and adding features. Support is also very responsive. They also have a really great email integration which collects files sent to your email and saves correspondence with clients in the client file, no more dragging and dropping correspondence from outlook into the client folders or saving attachments and dragging and dropping where to go. If the email is linked with a Taxdome client account it goes through your inbox and adds all client communications automatically.

Cons

There are some features that could be improved. Some of pipeline and workflow tools I haven't quite implemented. These could be improved with some sample templates that could be customized. Designing a workflow from scratch is difficult and I feel like i might be leaving things out, templates would give a baseline of common practices that would guide new users on how to take advantage of these features. Signature implementation could use some work, getting signatures from two spouses isnt well done, there should be an option for them to physically sign on their phone instead of using the signature font for the printed signature, and it has to have knowledge based e-signature (this would come at an additional cost to us users but it is required for certain document electronic signatures). I'm not concerned about these shortcomings because they are constantly adding updates and im sure improvements are on the way.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

Canopy was more expensive and had less features. I do like the canopy tax transcripts tool which I still use. I would like to get their full suite but its cost prohibitive for my practice.

¡Realmente me gusta que este parece ser un producto todo en uno! Examiné muchos productos de administración de empresas y TaxDome parece tener todo lo que estaba buscando, además de varias opciones adicionales que nunca esperé que un software de administración de empresas se hiciera cargo.

Cons

Es más difícil aprender los flujos de trabajo automotrices, pero eso se debe principalmente a que aprendí durante la temporada alta. Simplemente no tengo el tiempo para dedicarme a aprender como lo necesito en este momento.

I wish there was a pipeline for 990, 1041, 706 clients

Pros

The CRM functionality as well as the client management and task management features allow us to visually see and communicate with automation making our time more efficient.

Cons

It's pretty entailed, but their support is amazing.

### "Simplifying Your Practice"

Very good overall experience. Definitely is useful to have the CRM, electronic storage, task / organizer reminders, signatures and more in one place.

Pros

I like that it's fairly easy to use but does have extensive training libraries when needed. Very easy for clients to see what they need to do and love how it organizes communications. The versatile filing system and other organizers make onboarding much smoother.

Cons

Would be helpful if it allowed more delineation with folders. So, for a client, it would be great if one contact could have access to folders A-Z, while other contacts would have more limited access. In some cases I have to create multiple client files because of the inability to fine tune sharing. Also would be nice if the portal allowed some custom i-frames so that for a given client and its contacts, I could share, say, a project plan, slide show, or even Google spreadsheet through it so they didn't have to keep a bunch of URLs in their records.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

Taxdome had more features and was less expensive. JoinPortal though did have better file sharing delineation and the ability to create custom portal pages for clients or specific contacts and incorporate i-frames.

### "Hard to Implement But I'm Optimistic"

My hope is to cut back on the administrative time that's crept up on me over the years. When my practice was tiny, I didn't mind. But now that my client base has grown, so has the amount of time I spend on petty admin tasks (e.g. reminder emails, follow ups, task tracking, etc.) No more constructing and reconstructing lists and idle threats! If clients don't follow the next step, they'll be responsible for their own stalls.

Pros

I like the task tracking capabilities and integration with my scheduling and bookkeeping software. Though it's proving difficult for me to learn, TaxDome's support is very generous. This means I'll get out of it what I put in, because anything I run into will be readily addressed by a specialist for free.

Cons

I'd like to see a videoconferencing feature and scheduling built in. But this is only because I could cancel another two subscriptions.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

The other two I looked at (don't recall the names) were free so I assumed features and support would be limited. Plus, the interface wasn't as friendly as TaxDome. But honestly the biggest reason I chose TaxDome (like way bigger than any other reason) is because \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] highly recommends it and I follow him closely on social media.

### "Tax Dome Working Great"

I have realized the benefit of a CRM system related to tax preparation. In the workflow / pipeline process, knowing when clients dropped their stuff off or how long you have had their returns as been a huge improvement on efficiency on our end and the client receiving a faster return time. If tax dome updates the issues I listed about this is the best software for the price hands down.

Pros

I like the ease and functionally of tax dome the best. It is very user friend, a lot of my clients have been able to use it as well with very little questions on their end. I love the client portal aspect allowing clients to upload and download documents in a safe and secure manner. We use the signature function as well, not having to go out to a third part software has increased the return time and timing requesting the signatures. The customer service is great schedule a time to help on board or asking questions is very easy. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] is great!!!

Cons

The cons are are feel a few and far between and all things that I have been asking about and are supposed to be fixed or updated by the end of the month. For instance e-signature you have to send the document out two for a husband and wife to sign unlike other software you send it one to both email address. The notification may be a little too much but I guess I would rather know what is going on with all my clients than not and reminders to follow up on emails, or documents they have provided. Lastly moving the files from public (client view) to private (firm view) currently is not allowed so you have to delete the file and than upload again which takes additional time, but they assured me this was an update fix at the end of the month as well.
