Overall my experience with TaxDome has been good. The folks on the online chat have been very responsive. When they can't resolve an issue or suggest a feasible workaround, they have escalated my issue - and again, the senior support person has helped me with a workaround to solve my issue.

Pros

I started using this product to create automated jobs (pipelines) that I can easily see a client's job status on a visual basis. I've been using this product for about a week and so far, it's been working out well. Ask me again after tax season is over.

Cons

IMHO The product lacks some basic features such as assigning a job (pipeline) to an individual contact as opposed to an account (which may have multiple contacts). That said, I feel that Tax Dome is robust enough that so far, there are workarounds for these challenges. Also, while it may be intuitive to use, I feel that having some skills in programming/software engineering is extremely helpful. Also there is a lack of integration with my billing system - BizPayO.

### "Easy Management of Tax Practice "

Experience has been pretty good. If I have questions the Tax dome team is very easy to schedule a training meeting with me.

Pros

The secure portal, The way i c an send and have unlimited signatures. The way i can create Forms for clients to fill out is amazing and how clients can contact me through their own account.

Cons

It can get confusing at first when creating forms and templates for clients.

Pros

I love the ease of use and how it simplifies the amount of apps to keep up with my tax practice. Taxdome is amazing!

Cons

I like the ease of use but I would like to be able to add my signature easier to the email.

Pros

e-signature is great, this was the only reason I am using the software

Cons

All the constant e-mails, just started using it this month because my tax software e-signature wasn't working. I got taxdome just for the e-signature and every day I get another e-mail. The other features may be nice but quite frankly during the height of tax season I don't have time to do anything else nor read daily e-mails. I also don't like how I'm charged $1 everytime a client tries to do kba and fails. My other software only charge me if they were able to verify. When a client is having trouble getting it to verify my charges rack up quickly.

TD solved my immediate portal need, the old system was really just a document exchange, this allows for so much more, the e-signature feature alone was worth the price to me for ease of interactions with my clients and to have all the documents in one place that I can access from my office or home office.

Pros

I love the ease of use for my clients, most have found it very easy to use with no hand-holding and adopted and loved it very quickly. They can upload almost any format of documentation and backups to me with a few clicks. I get notifications how I want to see them and then all emails linked are saved in their history, so it's much easier to look back and find what I need without searching my endless emails in Outlook. Secure message is an easy way for many to communicate and I have saved records of those exchanges.

Cons

I did not yet have time to implement any of the task and automation processes, I started in Dec 2020 right before tax season, so those features are still waiting because I was a little overwhelmed with that setup process. It will be my summer project to figure out and test the process to make the whole system work better for me and improve my manual processes for tracking.

### "Taxdome - Great Help with Large # of Clients"

Pros

Tracking due dates is extremely helpful as our tax software does not provide that. We have missed several due dates with fiscal year ends because we have no good tracking mechanism.

Cons

Learning - training myself on a new program is time consuming.

### "Exactly what I've been looking for"

I am going to save SO MUCH TIME. TaxDome has centralized all that I do. Before TaxDome I needed my portal, DocuSign, Google Forms, Excel, Word, Notepad, etc. The amount of time I spent just in the administrative side was crushing. The process of getting an 8879 uploaded to the portal, off to the client for secure signature and back took 45 minutes to an hour. Now it's 5 minutes or less. I've gone from having so many different windows and apps open to needing only TaxDome and my tax prep software. What a relief!

Pros

It seems to be written by people who actually know how an accounting firm works. User documentation is fantastic as are the numerous tutorials. I was easily able to answer most of my questions and get instructions on how to do what I needed without needing to contact a live person. In fact, I was able to get set up and operational without any help from support. The interface is very intuitive.

Cons

In the beginning, TaxDome is a little overwhelming. I'm still getting used to the product terminology regarding clients and engagement letters which they label contacts and contracts. Those two words looks so much alike that it caused me a bit of confusion sometimes.

SmartVault did not dovetail well with my other processes. It worked okay to exchange client documents but it lacked greatly in efficiency. I had hoped it would streamline processes much more than it did. It was clumsy to use and really only helped with secure exchange of documents. It did nothing for workflow management. TaxDome was only slightly more expensive but provides so many more features all in one place.

Excellent, from a workflow consultant POV - I've been able to help other accountants maximize it's use and strategize how to get all the features out of it.

Pros

This eliminates multiple applications and features and is the most complete software in the market for the money

Cons

Some features still need upgrading: - It takes a while for bulk edit to process. - If you complete a task from the job card inside the pipeline it automoves in same page, but if you do it in new tab you have to refresh the original pipeline tab to see the job card automove - When you delete jobs the tasks are still active - There's no way to see deleted tasks (in case they were deleted by accident) - There's no way to undo a function in case it was done in error

### "Switching to TaxDome from Canopy"

Pros

Communicating with clients without requests (chat), a secure portal, the ability to use e-sign to fill out forms (not just sign them), an integrated website, and the ability to share documents with outside vendors securely are the primary things I liked about this software compared to others.

Cons

There are two things that I wish were included or slightly different within this software, but neither are deal-breakers in any way, shape or form. First, I wish there was a way to communicate directly with my team members through some form of messaging. Second, I wish the pipeline process was a bit easier. Fortunately, there are people and a lot of videos to help with this set-up, and you really only have to do it once. So, it's not a "big" thing.

Overall it's been great so far. I've going through some training and onboarding with TaxDome. They have been super helpful making the transition very easy!

Pros

The main features I was looking for was having one place to do everything for my tax business. I love that all the client information is there for sending out mass emails, talking directly to clients through the system, and having all their prior returns & files in a cloud system.

Cons

I wish a calendar was available for scheduling, but I know the CSR I spoke with said they are wanting to implement one soon.

I love it. I am excited to use it when things really get busy this season

Pros

The way clients can sign and upload docs. I love that ability. I paid a similar amount last year for a subpar product. Electronic signatures with KBA is what sold me.

Cons

I wish two different people could more easily share emails. Many of my married clients do.

### "TaxDome is a game changer"

TaxDome has been a game changer! I would not be able to maintain the volume of work that I do without it.

Pros

This software allows me to view my business with just a few keystrokes. I can see where all clients jobs are quickly. It keeps tasks from falling through the cracks. I can see my current revenue, easily communicate with clients, etc.

Cons

Notifications and due dates need some work. On the positive, TaxDome is extremely customer focus and is constantly making improvements to the software

Pros

I like how user-friendly the entire ux is. From support content (love your use of Simpsons characters) to the ui of both client and admin portal, it screams accessible and I really like that, especially as we are building our firm to be as accessible as possible for our new and old clients.

Cons

Setup will take time, and it can be a little confusing, but ultimately there are tons of videos to help support the process, so it's not a deal breaker.

So far the communication with tax clients have been much easier, I'm looking forward to implement other areas of service

Pros

I like that all the features are available and I don't feel like I've been sold the moon, only to be nickel-and-dimed with the gizmos that attracted me to the software in the first place. So far, it's been everything that it's sold to be. I like the client portal function and that it's app based.. I hope this allows for more secure and streamlined communication versus email and text....

Cons

It's not entirely intuitive. The self-paced onboarding seems a bit clunky... there is a lot of information available, but the flow from start to "BAM...ready to go" wasn't good for me. (but, I reached out for help, talked to an awesome dude the next day and I'm off to the races now)

I like that everything can be automatised. I like the clientel service. Very good.

Cons

That we can not put two taxes and i live in quebec where we have two taxes

### "Integrated Tax Solutions"

Pros

The signing capability and integration with CPA Charge for payments. Very easy to add users and jump in and figure things out.

Cons

Annual payment instead of monthly payment options. Cannot use KBA signing during the free trial.

### "Excellent Organizational Software"

My preparers and clients have all been very happy with the software!

Pros

It took our variety of softwares (digital signature, practice tracking, and email) and put them all into one. Added some great features like messaging that allows all preparers to see the conversation, works great when a co-worker needs some help or for manager reviews. The workflow is a great way to see where your clients stand at any minute. I do like the automation portion as well.

Cons

Quickbooks integration wasn't showing my full client list, so I abandoned that integration and booked all the income to sales. App is helpful for messaging, but that's about all you can do with it. The email notifications that come through are sometimes timed strangely. For example, I get emails to complete tasks that were already completed.

### "TaxDome brought a lot of practice managment function together for me into one place"

Nothing we do with TaxDome is something we were not already doing in our practice, but the software brought all the separate processes into one interface which eventually made us much more efficient because we were not having to jump from one application to another.

Pros

I love that the software brought about 5 different unrelated apps together for me by offering the same functionality into one place and interface.

Cons

It takes some time living with and using the software to know how best to integrate it into your practice. None of the functions were new to our process, but they were all in different platforms. We initially tried to have TaxDome fit with our already existing processes, but eventually learned that we needed to bend our process to make best use of the abilities offered by the software. While the software is fairly easy to set up and start using, there is a much steeper learning curve to using it for best practices.

### "Great product that is always upgrading and evolving"

The hand holding during onboarding was so amazing. you won't get service like that anywhere else

Pros

They are continuously trying to meet the needs of their clients by upgrading and asking for feature requests to make the software more robust

Cons

Only thing we are waiting for to be upgraded is an internal messaging system. but it isn't make or break

We just recently released a new feature which is @Mentions it allows you to tag another team member in messages, tasks, account notes, etc., and send them a notification. @mentions are great when you want to collaborate with your colleague on a problem, ask them a specific question, or discuss something with them without having to assign tasks to them.
