The onboarding help is unparalleled. My website was done overnight (though they told me it could ten days), which was amazing. I've been able to decommission my old website, my payment product, DocuSign, and more, but the best part is making things much easier for clients. They love the organizer and message features, plus the mobile app. Cons Building out the automations can be difficult, but the fact that they are available and can be as simple or complex as you need is nice, so it makes sense. Reason for choosing TaxDome The online tax community recommended TaxDome over other products. The free trial and videos were useful in making sure it would be a good bet for me before providing $$. The employees behaved as if we were already customers. I was able to get through designing an organizer and a pipeline for the office to test before we signed up. I'm looking forward to working with them as paid clients. Pros I like the organizer the most. The "smart" functionality allows clients to only see the questions that are relevant for them. Within a day I was able to edit an organizer to meet the needs of our practice utilizing the conditions. Explanations can be added to each question that are visible when the client uses the icon. I believe the clients are going to have a very good experience. Cons There are a lot of places for the eyes to go. It is good to provide different options on how to access the work that needs to be done, but it will take some time training team members on where to go and what to look for. I just finished my 2 week free trial and am excited to fully customize the software and use it to its full extent. I feel that it will make a big impact on the organization of our team and the overall client experience. Pros I love the ease of use for the client and the available app. I've practiced using it as a client and it is so easy to sign up, activate and upload documents and information. I have also utilized the onboarding on several occasions and have been very pleased. It's been easy to schedule a session and everyone I spoke to has been extremely knowledgeable and patient. Cons Creating the pipelines and understanding the relationships between tasks, templates, automations, etc has been challenging and will be time consuming to fully customize, but I feel it will be worth it in the long run. Switched from [Canopy](https://www.capterra.com/p/150647/Canopy-Tax/) One of the main reasons for the switch was that tasks were generated and assigned as soon as a pipeline was initiated, regardless of the stage we were in. This led to an overwhelming amount of emails and tasks with no way to filter them. We also found certain tasks in Canopy to be very cumbersome and not easy to accomplish. October 7, 2022 5.0 Pros Client Portal and Document Sharing/Saving Cons The workflows and tasks do not work how we need them to. You have to set up each thing you want to use as a template and we have a lot of custom tasks on our accounting side and it would be very annoying to have to go set up a template task just to add a one off task that we need to complete for a client. My favorite feature so far is the ability to link multiple contacts into one account so you're linking the businesses, the owner, their adult child who needs a tax return, etc. Without that, your practice management and tracking can get muddled down unnecessarily, and it really helps to be able to group people and keep communication coherent and in one place for all pertinent contacts. They also changed pricing despite claiming that they never would do that. Pros All the features that I need to run a remote CPA firm. I find that the workflows that I need are well supported within this product. Document and project management as well as proposals and ELs are all good. Cons They are forcing me onto Stripe as a payment processor and I cannot use an alternative within their platform invoicing.
