I am able to combine my CRM and my customer portal into one single useful and easy to use tool.

Pros

I always worry that changing from one set of software to another is going to be a stressful and painful experience. That wasn't the case with TaxDome. The guided tours through the videos made everything simple.

Cons

I wish PayPal payments could be accepted.

Expectation is that we will benefit from the efficiencies that Tax Dome has over our prior Tech Stack of ProConnect, Karbon, SmartVault, QBO. TaxDome will eliminate Karbon (too difficult to use) and SmartVault (too expensive).

Pros

Client communications; All client details in one software; ability to send out targeted emails to client groups for organizers/engagement letters. TaxDome is very responsive to suggestions for improvements or problems.

Cons

Haven't yet completed implementation. Some concerns with transferring documents from prior DMS.

Pros

This is an all-in-one solution. The workflows can be automated. It does appear that the set up process will require thought and time but will be worth it.

Cons

With any all-in-one solution I expect aspects of the program to be less than perfect. I have not yet identified those areas.

To be determined... too early to say.

Pros

I like that they give you a two week free trial to see if their software is a good fit for your business. Overall seems like pretty comprehensive software and good value for the $. I was hoping to be able to speak with someone to help with migrating client data from ProSeries but have to rely on help articles until the first available onboarding appointment opening two weeks out. They don't have a phone number you can call. You have to get on their calendar or use chat, email, or articles/video tutorials.

Cons

Migrating data might be a challenge, if you are missing some data or need to clean up your spreadsheet. I wish you could speak with someone via zoom or phone right away but that's not the case.

Overall I like the product. I'm only a week in, but I appreciate what all it has to offer me as I grow.

Pros

I like the document locking feature the best. Often clients pay, but every so often you have to chase a client for payment, and those clients eat up too much time. This document locking feature helps eliminate that.

Cons

The onboarding up front takes a lot of time, as does figuring out each step of my own processes to physically type out. Once it is done though, I know it will save me loads of time!

The main features that I'm excited about are the client portals, integrations with CPACharge, and e-signatures.

There was a small learning curve of the terminology used on the software, but the short videos and 1-on-1 are great!

### "TaxDome has changed our tax season"

I've been able to streamline all our systems from client onboarding, bookkeeping, and tax returns. It was fine keeping track of these things in a spreadsheet when it was just me, but now that I have a team, TaxDome is a must. I also love that TaxDome is constantly offering new features based on customer requests. The product keeps getting better and better.

Pros

I love the automations and automatic reminders. Now that everything is set up, client onboarding is so easy. I'm also better able to communicate with my clients because of the message templates that get sent when they have their documents turned into us. I'm also able to easily see where every single client is in our pipeline line at any given time. I could go on and on. I love that organizers and engagement letter contracts are in TaxDome as well. Clients have mentioned how much they love having everything in one place.

Cons

It took me a few weeks to get our pipelines and templates set up. Would have been nice if there were pipeline templates or more examples of what others have done. But now that everything is set up, it runs very smoothly. Completely worth the time.

I like the basics of Taxdome, however, I feel there could be alot of improvement. Overall, it has the features needed to get the job done for a reasonable price. I could save alot of time, if the internal controls had more options.

Pros

I like being able to have clients upload. I also like that they can sign up without an invite

Cons

I wish there were more specific controls for where the clients documents land when they upload. I also wish I could control which clients see what organizers. I don't like that you have to make an appointment to speak to customer service. I waited a week to speak to the first person and it was limited to 15 minutes. That's not enough time to get enough info on the product I also do not like that the e-signature only allows clients to type not sign.

I liked SmartVault's integration with my tax software but the e-signature prices were high. Canopy was great but too expensive. Sharefile was a great document storage system, but Taxdome was the same price and I got more features. I was under the impression Taxdome was more customizable than what it is, but I was running out of time to implement a system. So far, my clients say it is easy to use, so that's a big plus for me.

### "Good product, but needs better customer support"

Overall the software has good features, it is a bit pricey, and no monthly payment flexibility (forces one year contract). There is a software support gap at the moment, which is a big deal. Once that is fixed and payment options become more flexible I will be able to recommend it to others.

Pros

This product has good features such as tracking communication with customers, an integrated signature for engagement contracts, fee collection, and templates. It is nice to have several features in one place. I liked the ability to customize the portal login page.

Cons

There is a significant gap in customer support. This is the first time a software company has asked me to submit videos of issues or print screens to customer support. Generally, the support team can log behind the scenes and support you with any issues via a quick account review. There was a company-wide issue over the long weekend and there were no notifications about software having bugs, or when they were fixed. None of the automation worked, which left my customer hanging and confused, as none of the things I mentioned they will see actually happened. Also, it is on the pricier side and does not allow flexibility for monthly billing, only annual payments. There are videos on how to get started which are great, however, there is a bit of a learning curve as functions are set up in a very specific way so you'll have to learn that.

### "Moving away from dumb luck!"

Overall, the experience has been good! I can see the benefits TaxDome will provide my practice in time, process and communication efficiency.

Pros

As a small but growing firm we have cobbled together several software platforms that have a single use or, maybe, a couple of uses. We could not find a software, designed for the accounting and tax industry, that was user-friendly, affordable, scalable, comprehensive in its abilities that had good customer service. I like that we can consolidate a great many of our software platforms and day-to-day practice management needs into one platform. I also like that the opportunity for clients to "fall through the cracks" on follow-up, and consistent communication and resolving the process they might be in is greatly reduced.

Cons

As I am writing this at the end of my free trial, I can say that I would like the billing system to be such that I can use monthly, repeating charges for regular clients. Right now, it does not. I was disappointed that I could not get a lot of one-on-one help over the phone during the trial as I had to schedule each phone session 3-5 days out. The help was excellent when I did get on the phone and the chat function is helpful as well. When you get stuck on an aspect of implementation and you cannot talk with someone for a few days..it is deflating and really breaks your momentum!

Amazing, despite the cons I listed above I think it's a fantastic product, much better than what I was using before. It's also a great price.

Pros

Extremely intuitive software, I love that I have so many different types of functionality in one place rather than needing different apps. Clients love the organisers and checklists! I love the pipelines and automations.

Cons

I wish the integration with Quickbooks was two-way rather than one-way. I don't like having to mark invoices as paid twice (I don't use the credit card payment system because the fees are extremely high for UK users). I also wish there was more choice in automations – such as to move clients to a new pipeline, or to mark an invoice as paid without me having to raise an invoice. I also wish the client onboarding allowed for extra questions, rather than just one.

I didn't complete the trial. I was sold on the software by day 3 and made my purchase. I am looking forward to using all the features. I am convinced it is going to make the management of my business easier and contact with repeat and new customers satisfactory and focused.

I found the software to be very user friendly. I also found the links to other software and banks to be a plus.

Cons

I did run into a few problems trying to set up the website, however in all fairness I am not a technical person and this was doing the free trial without the help of the support team.

Just based on the pros and never addressing the cons, I'm saving about 2000/yr and paying about 600/yr for taxdome and 400/yr for KBA with taxdome. and I get a workflow system included

The product needs some maturation but are moving in right direction. Signature functionality needs checkbox grouping/radio box options. Needs recurring future payment functionality, but understanding that is being implemented in 3Q 2022. If that happens, it will be an alternative to Practice Ignition as it will include signature and recurring payment functionality.

So far so good. Customer service is excellent!

Pros

It looks easy on the eyes. Very versatile, love the document management and the emails and time tracking all in one place.

Cons

We are still in the setting up phase and it's a lot of work and time to get started - not unexpected though.

I believe it is a good product just need to learn how to use it better and to my benefit. Their techs are not very helpful at times.

Pros

Being able to have my clients send their documents over to me via portal. Being able to send out mass emails. Templates that are already set up to use.

Cons

My pipeline didn't work and I thought it was me being a first time user come to find out it was and error on their part and no one informed me about it.

Reason for choosing TaxDome

Because it offered everything in one product that I needed including helping me set up website.
