Cons The system is complex with all of its features, so understanding what the information means to a new user is difficult. They have a lot of videos to help, but nothing really beats person-to-person. Reason for choosing TaxDome I didn't trust Lacerte, make that Intuit, to do a good job with the software and the cost would go up substantially. Pros I'm a new user but transitioning from Dubsado and Jetpack. Very excited to build on the features I love. Cons No scheduling or calendar management software was implemented which means I will need to continue to use other software for that need. I'm looking forward to an all-in-one tool. Having the option to create state POA's would be welcomed as well, but Federal would be a good starting point. It does take some effort to set up and isn't as intuitive as other software options, but the customer support and training options available are outstanding! The pipeline is what initially brought us to TaxDome. The ability to sync our Outlook email and create tasks from emails is such a huge benefit for us. Pros This software is feature rich. It replaces several other apps I have been using. It is a real value when considering all that they provide. One competitor app that allows for provides sharing of QuickBooks Desktop files with clients would have cost me in excess of $5,000 per year for just some of my clients. The same feature is included in TaxDome . Awesome!!! The help screens and documentation are the best I have seen among the many software companies we use. Cons It is a little too soon for us to indicate features we would like to see because as a new user we continue to discover features that are there. Pros What I liked the most about this software is that they have a good organizer with conditions. Cons I wish the edit/removal of the organizer with conditions are more versatile and it can be time-consuming to have to look for the specified questions to create the impacts/conditions and drag/drop. We aim to provide a reliable service to all, and an annual subscription (a.k.a. a license) ensures that. Most recently they disabled several beneficial features unless I paid an additional annual fee and I didn't like that they product was based on client quantity. TaxDome offered everything I felt I had recently lost with Canopy Tax and packaged/priced it in a much more user-friendly manner. I don't have to be concerned with awkward or unpredictable future billing and I won't continually lose features. Cons I'm starting to get further into my setup and I've noticed some improvements could be made to the letter templates to allow more customization. I've tried Practice Ignition, Intuit's Practice Management, along with a couple others, and I luckily stumbled across TaxDome. While the engagement letters aren't too solid, I was able to tailor them. Assigning tasks to a client is unintuitive and is something I won't use.
