Overall, TaxDome has greatly improved the efficiency of our practice. It's easy to learn and use and is a great tool in managing the returns we prepare.

Pros

The ability to quickly respond to communication from clients. Also, email syncing keeps everyone up to date.

Cons

The billing system does not allow a credit card to be kept on file, and you can't change the amount of time before it is considered overdue. Also, we are unable to change the amount placed on a credit card, only a client can make a partial payment.

10/10. It is very robust and offers the best value for the cost. The KBA e-sign of a dollar per signature is great and the best deal out there.

Pros

It is a great CRM system. It's a one-stop shop. I use it for most everything it offers. It has been better than any of the others I demo'd.

Cons

No real complaints. The only thing that would be slight negative is using the document management system. Excel files are hard to work in. I have work arounds though.

Will continue to use it. Is easy to explain to our client's how to activate, log in and upload their documents.

Pros

The ease of use. Everything is self explanatory and they are always available to help when needed.

Cons

Trying to link different apps with it. Being able to 1 click and have all the resources available without several tabs open at the same time.

Overall I would t switch to another platform just because of the direct integration with my tax software and the ability to lock documents to collect.

Pros

Being able to lock documents so I can get paid up front before completing work.

Cons

The annual pricing per person. It also has a learning curb.

### "(Almost) Full Service Solution for a CPA practice"

The experience has been positive. I will say that there are expectations still to be met (API/CRM functions) so this is almost a 100% solution but worth the investment for what it does bring to my practice.

Pros

Ease of on boarding new clients (from a client perspective). Ease of issuing all types of invoices (recurring and non-recurring) and collecting payments.

Cons

The workflow(s) set up take some time to get launched. The online training is helpful but limited if you are strapped for time to implement what you learn. The CRM aspect is the bottleneck for my firm today. I'm unable to sync the CRM data to other environments except by manual report run/download. Zapier connections are very limited - despite the expectations of improvements. API connections would be helpful to fill this gap but no API exists. Important if you use several different systems that need to be coordinated (Tax, Accounting/Bookkeeping, External Email distribution system (more robust than what TaxDome is able to do).

### "TaxDome is great for Accounting firms."

My overall experience has been good for my small firm with the ease it was to transition to and ease of use. My clients have not had a hard time using the software and have had good compliance and decent feedback with it.

Pros

I love the firm templates that you can create for organizers, emails, communications, proposals, etc. I like that clients can do everything in TaxDome from uploading information, sign for returns, pay invoices, message our team. I love the feature that you can for a client to pay an invoice before they can access their tax documents which ensures for good collection purposes.

Cons

What I like the least in TaxDome is that rolling over organizers to the next year is not as robust as I would like. Also, the integration with Stripe and QuickBooks is good, however, when clients pay me via ACH or with bank information, I have to go through a whole process with Stripe and the client verifying the transaction before I can get paid. So now all I can accept is credit card because that is the least hassle to get paid.

### "TaxDome is very useful and yet still has a lot of potential to get better."

My overall experience has been good, but I am good at conceptualizing a workflow so setting up my pipelines was not hard, however I can see how some people have trouble with it.

Pros

What I like most is electronic engagement letters and organizers, to save paper. Second to that is automatic reminders sent to clients via TaxDome so I don't have to waste time sending out reminders manually.

Cons

What I like least is that billing does not connect to choice of merchant service company. I am happy with the one I use through my bank, and it cannot be linked to TaxDome, so I cannot lock documents to an invoice in TaxDome. I still use the invoice feature that emails invoices to clients, and that is all. My TaxDome invoice instructs clients to make a payment at my website.

TaxDome had more comprehensive features in one place. I set up TaxDome myself and did not pay anyone for help. I previuosly used Intuit Link (part of Proconnect Tax Online) but it was unstable for clients trying to log in. I could not choose Link in question above as who I swtiched from.

### "What Tax Dome means to my Firm"

So far, So good. The payments and QBO link is difficult, the lack of the ability to work on documents in Tax Dome and the inability to copy files to a new folder is a little kludgy. However, the ability to do invoicing through Tax Dome is a big plus.

Pros

It is works well for centralizing the work and becoming the headquarters for the firm. I like that documents, communications, proposals, pipelines and tasks are all in one place.

Cons

It is a little kludgy when trying to work on a document. It seems we are unable to make changes to word or excel spreadsheets in tax dome and either have to download or access through the Z:Drive.

I have really appreciated the support from the Tax Dome team as we have implemented the product across two firms with 30 employees and 3000 clients.

Pros

Very easy to use for employees and clients. They are constantly making the product better and really listen to user input.

Cons

Some of the filtering and export options could use some improvement but they are working on it. Also closing out time entries for recurring invoices could be made easier

Wonderful. I am a small firm who does about 15 to 30 returns a year. My clients really appreciate the app. It keeps all their information at hand. When they need a copy of their return, no need to contact me, just print. If they lost their W-2. A copy is there for them.

Pros

The software is easy to use and understand. They made it very simple for my clients to reach me and submit documentation. Our two-way communication has improved.

Cons

There are two things I don't like. There are no monthly subscription and no live call center to call in if you just want to speak to someone. Or maybe I just don't know the number. But they make it up with their response time and following up. I forgot i had a problem with my website and they were still addressing the issue.

Overall, it has been a great experience. The set up is quite a bit of work, but well worth it.

Pros

We like that we can have our client portal, our client communication, and our workflow management all in one place.

Cons

From an account owner perspective: I don't love that I can't switch an annual subscription to a monthly subscription. From a user perspective: the calendar feature crashes the system when I try to use it. Also, it would be helpful to see the next recurrence of a job to make it easier to plan ahead (I understand this is on the roadmap).

Overall, it has been positive. The system can do a lot of things I need it to do and the videos on how to do things are helpful. There are some changes that I wish were optional because they make my job as a soloproneur harder.

Pros

It can provide so many different technical aspects to my business and automate many of those parts which saves us a lot of time and energy.

Cons

There are some features that could be implemented that would be a game changer. Also, the price continues to increase and without those additional features it may or may not be worth it to continue in the system.

### "Perfect for a Single Person Office hundreds of miles away from clients"

This is my second year using TaxDome, and I am looking forward to using it again. I love how it helps me stay on track to service my clients hundreds of miles away as a sole practitioner.

Pros

I can keep track of which clients are ready for me to start preparing their tax returns. This is a great help for a single person office who needs to keep track of clients and their documents. It helps me focus on a single client at a time and not have to work on returns multiple times, as documents come in one at a time.

Cons

The learning curve for setting up the pipeline that would work best for my practice. Eventually, I got it and now it is easy to go in and make adjustments as necessary.

So far I am happy with Tax Dome. I recently hired a third party to setup my pipelines and automations. Now I manage most of my to do list in Tax Dome.

Pros

I like the client portal & built in payment features.

Cons

Some basic features are missing. Lack of control over system generated reminders and emails to clients. We should be able to change the subject, salutation, or text for anything sent to our clients on our behalf.

### "Improved User Experience and Internal Efficiency"

Implementation is tricky because of the sheer power of TaxDome but there is a great program available called Workflows for TaxPros that has helped us get the most out of TaxDome

Pros

I've used several Accounting specific workflow management products and TaxDome has been the best by far because of the level of automation possible. I've also been able to consolidate our tech stack and simplify the client experience with one tool.

Cons

Some of the features aren't there yet like the website but those are features better handled by other technology anyway.

That is our 3rd year with Taxdome, finally a feature rich over-all solution that cover all our needs, invoicing, project management, document management, clients' portal, engagements, organizers, communications and more in one easy to use interface, we love it, and our clients love it! ### "Fantastic Features"

For my purposes, it's been fantastic. I'm generally not a fan of all in software, and I still prefer to pick and choose between best in class software. For the things I use Tax Dome for, I'm very happy with it. There's a big learning curve to get used to it, but their support has been good when I've needed help. I wish they would listen to what users want when deciding on updates. It's a very good value for the price. I replaced Smart Vault and Liscio with Tax Dome, and the price difference of replacing the two resulted in savings along with giving me better workflows. I expect Tax Dome is a long term solution for my business.

Pros

The way the different elements integrate together make it a seamless experience for clients. I especially like the file storage and pipelines. The organizers are great too. One of the very best features is being able to lock documents to an invoice. It saves steps in my workflow to be able to able to upload everything at once and know that it is delivered upon paid invoice without having to step in and complete the task upon payment.

Cons

My biggest complaint is that I can't integrate the scheduling software I use. It would be so much easier if they integrated with a wider offering. I also don't care for their proposal system, and last I checked, I can only setup recurring payments through Stripe and not with CPA Charge.

Smart Vault seemed to be difficult for my clients. They hated having to upload things. It also seemed clunky and didn't keep up with the times. It was confusing to make changes to file structure templates and adding and removing users was not at all intuitive. I didn't care for the file structure in Liscio at all. They used a tagging system instead of folders and I worked really hard to make it work for me. Eventually I found that there wasn't a way to backup the data which is what ultimately made me leave. Pulling data from Liscio to get the information moved is not at all easy and probably by design.

### "TaxDome Is The Best Workflow/Practice Management Solution On The Market"

My overall experience with TaxDome has been great. I had some tough times on the front end because I was hoping that I could hit the ground running. I was not expecting to have to create my workflows at the beginning. Once I was beyond the initial infrastructure creation, I have been very pleased with TaxDome. They are expanding and creating new features constantly to make things easier for business owners.

Pros

I have been able to cut down 5-10 hours per week because of the workflow automations in TaxDome.

Cons

You do need to set up your own workflow infrastructure so there will be some time spent on the front end. After the infrastructure is in place, it is smooth sailing at that point.

### "Great for Individuals, Needs Improvement for Business Clients"

Permissions and accessibility for Documents and Notes aren’t customizable enough, which can pose confidentiality risks and internal control challenges.

I believe the learning curve is a challenge, at the time of implementation I got changed my implementations over and over and they missed over and over their appointments due to different situations, illness, weather, etc. Then to get a new appointment I had to wait 2 to 3 weeks. At the end I was expecting an impementator that works with me hand to hand and Knock everything in a week. Giving best practices, tips and taking care of the taxdome features, I am planning to use it better next tax season.

Pros

I like the templates, workflows and the emails templates

Cons

some simple task are not intuitive, like white label the portal. After many emails, I gave up. Youll need to be kind of IT person to understand the instructions and execute. The lack of fully integration with Drake, QBO and that you cant CC when do it an email or that you can forward an email.

### "Pros outweigh the Cons - 10 of out 10!! Highly Recommend "

Pros

Honestly, everything about it! From sending out your engagement letters, setting up pipelines, assigning tasks and jobs to your team members, bulk emailing clients, setting budget times on jobs/tasks. This program is everything a boutique accounting firm needs if you do tax preparation, sales tax, payroll, 1099-filings, bookkeeping, and so much more.

Cons

There are very few things i dont like about TaxDome, as they are a young company, I find that they are constantly improving and will come out with new and improved tools to help businesses such as ours. I'm excited to see these improvements and utilize them within our firm. If there is any "con/s" I would primarily say it comes from you taking a vast amount of time (depending on how many clients you have) to get everything fully set up in the program. Ex. Client list/contact info, Engagement letters if you have a lot of different engagements, pipelines, jobs, tasks, automations, emails, etc. It takes a lot of work and your valuable time to get things where you dream and aspire to be but thats where you need to bite the bullet and put in the work to improve your business and I believe the end result will pay off 10-fold! So take the time to learn the program, watch the videos, prepare for your onboarding meetings by watching the webinars so you have good questions to ask and even better catering those questions to YOUR business. How your clients would feel. Of course, there will be hicups along the way, it wont be "perfect" the first go around but thats how we learn and become better! Highly recommend taking your valuable time (business owners and all) to learn it, tweak it, cater it to your clients, and test it all on yourself so you can "see" what the clients will see.

### "TaxDome Flow"

Overall TD has been great in regards to growing my tax business and ease of use for myself and my clients.

Pros

Ease of use and tax management has been the best reasons for using TD. It is so much easier to manage with clients uploading their docs instead of having to sort through emails to find the right docs.

Cons

Originally the integration with apple IOS was not seamless but now it works better. Also the app could use some improvement so that I can access what I need.
