This is a game changer for us. I STRONGLY recommend investing in the Onboarding services provided by TaxDome. Work smarter, not harder. \[sensitive content hidden\] was so patient with me, letting me lead with my questions, but also clearly having an itinerary for me to follow so we could make good progress through each lesson. When I needed extra help, she was quick to make it happen. She listened to what I wanted for MY company, and also showed me other options to consider. I will be telling EVERYONE that this IS the best tool for your tax practice after your tax software!

Pros

Once it is set up, it really does move clients automatically to the next step. I sent out Activation emails to 388 clients. In less than 48 hours, >150 clients had started the onboarding process - Engagement Letter, Deposit Invoice, Organizer. This many clients would normally have taken us about 10 days to get this far.

Cons

Because it is so robust, it really takes some time to get the first pipeline set up. But once you do......hold on! Clients are being taken care of!

Pros

Tax Dome has completely changed my practice! I thought it would be hard to onboard my clients. I was wrong. It has helped to have all information in a safe place.

The learning curve for a seasoned professional was difficult. I do not handle change well. I have been doing taxes since dos!

Overall, I have enjoyed TaxDome and it has decreased the time I need with client contact significantly.

Pros

TaxDome's client facing portal is very easy for most clients to use, and they feel confident about the security of their documents.

Cons

Even with webinars, the pipelines are not intuitive to use and take more understanding of computer programming concepts than I have been able to pick up in a career in tax.

My overall experience has been very positive.

Pros

Tax Dome saves me so much time during Tax Season by allowing me to do everything in one program. I used to send returns to review by my clients through my tax software, bill them for their tax prep fee through Quickbooks and then send the E sign forms through another software. Now I can do it all in one place. The ability to track jobs through the pipelines and the automations in invaluable.

Cons

As with any other software, there a times when there are gliches but that is to be expected, The sudden increase in pricing was also a little concerning. With having multiple staff members, the cost can add up pretty quickly.

TD has made front and back-end handling more efficient, has cut down on time consumed, and is easier on our remote consultants. Those who work in offices are still dedicated to paper, although improving!

Screens are a little busy which is likely our fault for not exploring all our options!

Pros

The clients find it very easy to navigate. The automations save me time and allow each client to see where their return stands in the process.

Cons

I'd like more integrations for scheduling appointments. Although it works with Calendly, the clients cannot see the date/time of their appointment in the TD portal.

Overall, TaxDome is great. I will definitely continue to use it season after season. I want to familiarize myself with the software a bit more so I can take full advantage of all of the features.

Pros

I love how easy the streamlining process is for the clients and how we can gather all of their information that we need for tax season. Absolutely makes tax season so much easier for my firm.

Cons

I feel like the communication part with clients can be a bit more streamlined. I'd like to be able to know when clients read a message. I also would like the new client folders to automatically apply every year. I also may not know the software as well as I should but I also have not been offered a training.

Our experience has been mostly good. We love the parts we're using and we're anxious to begin employing some of the other features in the near future.

Pros

TD is a soup to nuts solution. It pretty much does it all. The price is on the high side but for what all you get, it's still a bargain.

Cons

TD is a soup to nuts solution. That fact that it pretty much does it all means it has a steep learning curve. We're two years into using it and still trying to sort out how to maximize it's features. Videos and live help have been useful but we're still struggling a bit. Truth be told, that's more on us than TD. I do wish they had a pipeline creation wizard to make it easier for newbies.

Support has been good, but I have also used workflows for tax pros to help me learn everything. I do not think you need to use someone like that, but for me it was helpful.

Pros

What I like: The portal is a secure way to share files with your clients and gives them a separate account from their personal and business accounts with one log in, the KBA signature feature works quickly and easily, the pipelines automates requests and the assigning of tasks.

Cons

It takes time to learn how to use and implement the pipelines. I'm going on my second year. So far I spent more time setting everything up and learning how to use the pipelines properly. I expect or at least I'm hopeful, that by my third year it will be a time saver to cover my cost, which is substantial. But if it starts to save me time, should be worth the cost.

My overall experience with the TaxDome has been positive.

Pros

It really helps take the load off of the administrative work of following up with clients and gathering the information. Most importantly, the ability to lock files to the invoice has eliminated accounts receivable for the most part.

Cons

Lack of live customer service. Also, when locking files to an invoice only works for credit cards. For ACH, as long as the client enters anything, including bogus account info, the file is unlocked and then the client has to be chased. I have two clients from last year that still owe me money because of that. In addition, with KBA signatures, if one spouse signed but the other didn't, such as if KBA could not be verified and they had to sign manually, that signature still gets paid for. The system only allows to cancel a signature request if nobody signed.

I really like it. It took a while to understand how the platform works but now that im better integrated it works fine.

Pros

I like Fin, the chatbot. It's better then searching through a searchbar, and he usually gets what I'm trying to say. Having everything centralized in Taxdome has made it easier to gather info from clients, and store it as well. Where in the past we would have 5 different platforms, to do what Taxdome does in one. I also love the Print to TaxDome feature, as this allows for a more paper-free environment. Collecting signatures and documents ahead of time is also possible, and more convenient for clients. Very user friendly.

Cons

Sometimes I have issues with the developing CRM aspects of the platform, but that is mainly because some of the client id fields cant be changed, we can only add our own. But once ALL the client fields can be sync to CRM (like phone number) for example, without having to create my own custom one, it will be better. It just does not make sense to create my own custom field for client phone number, when there is already a preexisting one set up by you guys. Also syncing data to accounts with more than one contact is challenging, i really wish it was possible to sync data from the organizer easier. Rather than manually entering the data. Also, while it is convenient at times, there are a lot of clickable spots on the website that take me to pages when i dont mean to click on them. Like when I'm looking at the overview page on a client, and if i click on the pipeline stage of a job, it redirects me and then i lose my spot, when i never use that link otherwise. can be confusing at times. Minor instances of invoice duplication with the qbo integration and improper pipeline automations because of rule limits. Can't believe youre all out

I was initially concerned about the price, but when I saw the advantage of allowing our clients to upload their files to a secure platform, it changed my perspective.

Pros

Excellent tool for tax preparers. It is very efficient and makes our lives easier. The customer support is wonderful, very fast. Clients love the product because it puts all their files in one place.

I'm currently unable to think of anything in particular. Overall, it has been an excellent product for our office.

Pros

Their software updates are actually responsive to what would be useful for accounting and tax professionals. Notes section and dashboards for each client are fantastic and give a great overview of what's going on.

Cons

Needs a little bit of improvement in the pipeline/job workflow area - it's a bit hard to see or edit a workflow while your "in" it.

Have loved the tool, the value and pricing. Like how there are constant updates and new feature releases.

Pros

Automation, organization and team alignment that the tool provides for our company. Allows me to be less involved on a day to day management perspective.

I wish it had a better calendar function that integrated with google calendar or just internal that I could schedule meetings and communicate with clients on.

Pros

From a company who always work with clients, their feedback is highly important. Clients finding navigation in TaxDome so easy is so important. We received nothing but positive feedbacks from them. From an internal point of view, setting up the work flow of a service from client signing up to completion of the service availed has been smooth sailing.

Cons

Some features we need for easier process is not yet available in TaxDome. Also, existing features does not work all the time such as auto sending of organizer.
