It's been ok, it could be better. The information could have been more secure and retrievable, however it was not.

Pros

One stop shop for client info and notes. I do like the fact that the clients can upload their data and that we can also put information in as providers.

Cons

Missing or removed or replaced data that can't be retrieved. This was extremely disheartening when I lost a few spreadsheets, Notes, and other documents that IT said could not be retrieved.

Pros

I love how easy TD is to use. The system updates timely and the information available at a glance is phenomenal.

Cons

You basically need to know the ins and outs of the system to be able to use it, its a little bit of a learning curve, but once you figure it out, it does wonders.

My experience with TaxDome is very good. The communications, documents, signatures, and pipeline — has simplified my workload.

Pros

My favorite parts are Pipeline, communication, and time entries. And client loves the chat feature as well.

Cons

The platform has a bit of a learning curve at the beginning. Once you get the hang of it, it’s great. Also, it's a bit annoying to sign in that requires 2-step verification everyday even i click "remember for 30-Day.."

### "Good for Solo Practitioners but not for larger firms."

If you are a solo practitioner, this is a great software platform that can act as an automated admin employee. If you are a larger firm that needs to manage multiple employees, the software doesn't give you the tools that you need to do that without having to pay for separate software.

Pros

Once you get the pipelines set up, they are very effective for managing workflow and communicating with clients. We get our compliance completed and signed much faster and the ability to send mass emails near deadlines is helpful.

Cons

The Time & Billing portion of the software is so poorly thought out it is clear that nobody at TaxDome has any experience operating a CPA firm with multiple employees. Most other CPAs that I know who use the platform still have to pay for a separate T&B software since you can't use TaxDome to print a simple timesheet for employees and the WIP reports for billing purposes are too limited for modern value billing and line item billing.

My overall experience with Taxdome has been helpful for my business it has allowed me to keep my business organized.

Pros

The ability to automate my services. The library and access to different templates and workflows. I like the chat and email option to communicate with my tax clients. I like the option to accept payments for my small business. I like that I can store my tax documents.

Cons

The pricing is high to add additional users and there are constant issues going on. The fees are constantly increasing. There should be a phone number to speak with customer service. The setup process is very time consuming.

The vast majority of the functionality is great - but creating client friction outweighs literally everything else.

Pros

Work management, e-signature, automation were all very good. The overall product is improving regularly, and look forward to the future enhancements.

Cons

Client experience with 2 factor authentication. Way too many complaints about how clunky the experience was. And - at the end of the day - client experience matters most.

I'm very pleased with the features, benefits and ease of use of TaxDome. I also like being able to switch to the client view so I can walk clients through and see exactly what they see.

Pros

TaxDome is very easy to learn. I thought at first I would get lost in all the available options, but after working on it for a short time it flows well. It's also been very easy to help clients navigate it on they're end. I love the security of data transfer, and having everything in one system. The chat feature is one of my favorite ways to communicate with client.

Cons

There are frequent changes that get confusing to things that worked better before the change. I'll get settled on the layout and the next day I have to look for emails. Once I figure out the changes it's ok, but I think some of the changes that happen were not necessary.

Pros

I really appreciate the all-in-one platform: CRM, document storage, client portal, task management, e-signature, and billing are seamlessly integrated. The automation tools (pipelines, templates, client onboarding) have significantly reduced manual tasks and improved internal efficiency. Excellent value for the features provided.

Cons

The overall cost is a bit high, especially for part-time collaborators who only use the platform occasionally. It would be helpful to have more flexible pricing options based on actual usage or user roles (e.g. limited access or occasional users at a reduced rate).

For the Firms end of usage: It would be more beneficial if you could open chat area in an independent window.

I first started using TaxDome as an employee of a tax firm. When I started my own business, it was a no-brainer that I would use TaxDome, because I knew its capabilities and how it would make running my business that much easier. I am incredibly pleased with my experience with TaxDome.

Pros

I think what I like most about TaxDome is its multi-functionality. It's not "just" a CRM. It's not "just" a secure document sharing portal. It's not "just" a way to invoice clients. It's so many functions in one and is easy to use. It helps me manage my tax business easily.

Cons

What I like least about TaxDome is probably the fact that there are glitches at times. However, I just know that it's part of a tech driven world we live in, and TaxDome does try to resolve issues as quickly as possible.

I really like it and I am eager to see how they improve and what the future has to offer. Really wish a training didn't cost money and we could get a couple of hours or have training videos provided for free.

Pros

They system is easy to use from a client side, and I love the fact everything is in once place. The organizers really help eliminate the leg work needed for taxes. We have not used billing yet

Cons

There is an adjustment to figuring out how to set it up properly and I feel we still only use 25% of what we have available to us. To get help is expensive for a small firm

Taxdome will be a great tool to add to our arsenal, but at the end of the day, it isn't the "end all" that it was sold to us as.

Pros

The pipeline makes it easier to keep up with clients and for us to know where each client is in the tax preparation process.

Cons

The learning "experts" were anything but, we really taught ourselves how to use it and there were things that we were told were integrated that ended up not being.

I have been a TaxDome user for nearly 4 years now, and I can say this is the one application that has made my life easier for me to stay organized, improve efficiency, track time, improve my workflow, communicate with clients and even has provided a significantly improved client experience for those working with me. My clients rave about the accesibility to their data and real-time updates (which are all automated thanks to my pipelines which I have set up).

Pros

Ease of use for both the Firm and the clients, innovative functionality and continuous improvements to the product - incorporating user feedback and feature requests

Cons

Initial learning curve and setup are a bit tedious and time consuming, but once you get the hang of it, the efficiency improvements are a total game changer.

Pros

Templates and portal are quite useful. E signature is one of the smoother in the industry in my opinion. For those that we can get to adopt the app it has been a great tool for moving paperwork into the practice

Cons

Workloads are very constant cumbersome. Pricing keeps moving in the wrong direction

### "good and intuitive"

Basically, I'm quite satisfied. I enjoy working with the communication and request features. I also find the workflows very useful. However, I find it quite difficult to set them up, which is why I'm not working with them yet. I love the signature function. I find some details cumbersome. For example, I can't move multiple files to another folder at the same time. And I can't upload attachments to requests, for example. 98% of my clients are very satisfied and find Taxdome very intuitive.

Pros

What I like most is that I have an overview of all communications. In my opinion, it would be even better if you could sort the chats. Older and less important chats could then be moved to a folder, for example, or I could sort the chats by tax type. I also love the signature. It's straightforward and effective.

Cons

I think it's a shame that you can't move multiple documents into one folder. Or when creating a folder, that you can't copy a folder structure there. So if you have the same sub-structures in different folders.

Previously we used spreadsheets to track clients during tax season. We printed or copied all the client documents and e-mail and added to their ever growing files. Now we upload everything and can see all the communication with a client in one place. Tax Dome has been inspiring to say the least.

Pros

I love to organization potential of Tax Dome. It has made such a difference in our first tax season with it.

Cons

The learning curve. It took me a long time to figure out the pipelines and assigning my staff as well as tasks going to the right people.

TaxDome has changed our firm! Our clients love it and most importantly use it. Our staff has fully embraced all the features as TaxDome is continuously building and upgrading the system. Well worth the time spent setting it up. We couldn't imagine another tax season without TaxDome!

Pros

The customization options allow us to create workflows for every need and change them as our needs change. TaxDome listens to our feedback and is constantly developing new features.

Cons

The print/download buttons for clients are hidden and cause extra work for us explaining to clients how to do these functions.

TaxDome is easy to use and learn (TaxDome Academy!) and support has always been quick to answer and get to the bottom of any issues. They communicate well with their clients and listen to feedback to improve the experience.

Pros

Ease of creating professional looking organizers; digital signatures; custom fields and tags; filtering and reporting capabilities. Support is quick to respond!

Cons

I would love to be able to create sub or household accounts (example: for children under a parent account) that can later be separated out.

We have been very pleased with the overall implementation and functionality of TaxDome. As a firm of 9 with remote employees and staff, it has been a great product to assist with our CRM, portal and project management.

Pros

The client portal is extremely easy to navigate for both the firm and end user. It has proven much easier to implement than another product we tried previosuly.

Cons

TaxDome is still working on improving its billing capabilities. We currently utilize and outside program to bill, which makes it cumbersome and more expensive. We were told improvements were imminent, but it is taking longer than anticipated to implement. Pricing has also begun to increase, which we were led to believe was more stable. It is still an overall excellent value.

Overall we love TaxDome and is a huge improvement over other workflow tools we have tried. Although a little on the pricier side.

Pros

The ability to automate the workflow is great. Letting our clients know where they are in the preparation process and sending updates regarding status and request for documents is streamlined into one platform. Whichever team member is working on the account, they can see the correspondences with other team members as necessary. We also like the tag features and sort by tags to get an idea on type of clients.

Cons

Some of the features, like the AI renaming files and documents that clients upload are buggy but it can be turned off. No separate firm pricing, just per member and 3 year payment discounts which is causes a hit on the firm budget in year 3. Would prefer a better pricing structure.

One on One is hard to get, before the Circle was introduced, so if you need a quick answer, going to Circle is the only way you are going to get a quick answer

Pros

Once you can get a good workflow, it is great!

Cons

You subscripe because you are a one or two person office, and it takes a while to set it up, because you only have maybe 30 min training and it goes way to fast. So at the end you are more confused, then when you started, they have ALOT of webinars through there training, but it takes so long to get through them, you just lost. I do link the chat they just introduced, that helps, but I had to hire someone that would have time to go through the training and set things up and they are still going through it, along the way testing different items. Even though, they have templates, and now people have templates to "sale" but there should be a better way. By the time you spend someone to go throught training, or do it yourself, you still spend more money. I would think spending $800, and now however much for the levels, more then 30/45 minutes should be givin to train. Small firms don't have the money to be dishing out, then have to spend 40 hours learning, 40 hours spending time to set up and then hope it works. In the meantime, your putting clients on the back burner, or possibly losing them, because they feel you don't have time for them. Now that they have different levels, when it was supposed to be everyone had the same, it costs even more!

Transformative. I am a better leader of a CPA firm because I think differently now.

Pros

The way it assists us to think through the details of each step of the tax preparation process, create automations that make our people more productive, keeps the clients up to date on status yet give the clients a personalized feeling of service without us needing to stop and "one-off" communicate, allows the team to be synchronized on status and next steps, ability to optimize workload and evaluate performance of team members, and the overall increase in quality of output because team members can focus on higher value services.

Cons

This really isn't a "con" but to fully understand the power of TaxDome and properly implement the processes and gain the largest portions of the higher quality output and increased efficiency, you need to reprogram your mind on how to run a CPA firm and take the time to understand and train your staff on pipelines, workflows, recurrences, linking to jobs, integrating everything. You need to commit to TaxDome being the central technology and engine of the firm for all aspects of production. TaxDome has amazing capabilities, and I can tell that the leadership of TaxDome is thinking correctly and being very insightful about the direction of development of the tool. For a firm to implement properly, the firm needs to think differently. When I finally surrendered to that, and fully understood it was imperative and good for the firm's future to commit and lean into the fundamental changes required, this firm has really started to realize significant benefits. It's sort of like you can't see it until you see it. It takes time and commitment to see it, but when you see it, wow!

### "There is nothing not to love about TaxDome"

TaxDome is fantastic. They are at the top of their game and really listen when something isn't working right. With their new community, you even have the listening "ears" of the founders of the company. They are right there answering your questions, adding the right employee to the conversation, and even giving some insight when they are able to. Its become an even greater advantage in my opintion.

Pros

What I like most about TaxDome is that they listen to us, their customers. They are always growing to support us better and make our lives easier when it comes to keeping everything organized. Whether that be the organization with documents, workflows, or any other items they offer. And will continue to offer over time.

Cons

This is hard for me to answer because I love so much about TaxDome, but for me it would probably be the handful of times that a new feature is rolled out that causes other things to not work. Luckily, TaxDome is on top of it, and will roll back the system removing the new feature and returning everything back to working order like it had been.

Not bad. It's still not want I wanted for a job tracker but it's the best solution I've had so far. Didn't really think I would like the customer portal side of things, but now I love working with our clients who upload thier docs, I work the return, upload thier signature docs etc, GET PAID, all without having to make phone calls or emails etc.

Pros

The constant updates, improvements, implementation of community suggestions. Also, the e-signing and customer portal side

Cons

OMFG everything needs a GD template!!!! And your template section sucks turkey giblets. Make templates groupable with folders or something. It's so hard to find the template we need. It's easier to use TextExpander instead.

Karbon didn't do something. I really FREAKING LOVED the naming conventions for recurring jobs in Karbon, and the recurring jobs function. Tax Domes recurring job and naming conventions are a smallpox infested peasant when compared to the royalty of Karbon's naming and recurrence system.
