I have been able to add so many more clients and have very few of them calling and email for status because of the automation and organization of the work through the pipeline process.

Pros

The ability to customize the workflow process and automate many of the steps which saves me time and money.

Cons

The learning curve is a little steep but well worth it.

### "TaxDome has Potential, But support is sorely lacking"

Meh. If I had known how difficult it was to set up and how poor their support is, I would not have signed on.

Pros

the workflows, once you get them set up are handy

Cons

Support is lacking. The learning curve on TaxDome is extremely steep. It is so steep that third parties have lucrative businesses just to help you set up and understand how to use TaxDome. Getting a TaxDome support person is a long, adruous process. You cannot call a human, only a chat or schedule a 15 minute 1:1 a week out. If you need a longer support call, you might be able to schedule one in 2-3 weeks. Heaven help you if you you cannot get your ABO to sync with TaxDome, their engineering team refuses to believe their tool might not actually work. I give TaxDome's support ZERO stars

### "TD is Great, but it does need improvement "

Overall, TD is a must-have for professionals; there is no way to organize all work product for clients if you want to scale. So far, it has helped me grow every year, and my clients feel the difference in professionalism and love it.

Pros

I love the ability to organize all my clients and the work we do for them in one place. I am able to create pipelines to ensure nothing is missed. I can invoice clients and have them pay through the app, which is a game changer.

Cons

TD can improve in several areas. For example, it does not have its own calendar. So, I have to rely on other calendaring software to ensure I do not over-task each day. Also, it would be so beneficial if the accounts were numbered, year of creation, and then numbering the accounts \[25-0001- Johnson\], for example. Finally, the Insights page, I think, should have more information, such as total accounts, total jobs open, and total jobs closed, and maybe separating them by job types, too, so we know what jobs are completed the most and which ones make the most money.

### "It will more than pay for itself"

There is a decent learning curve initially so attending the webinars is a must if you are not a self starter with software. There are videos everywhere, though, and I have never had trouble getting an answer. Payments come in same day now and I am mailing less paper so that alone paid for the software for me. I am spending more time right now getting clients onboarded than I will going forward so I think the real efficiencies will be in the second season with the software.

Pros

This is my first year using TaxDome but so far it has really streamlined the delivery and signature process for me and consolidated the document delivery side. I still had clients emailing me sensitive information despite pleading with them to stop. One thing I did not anticipate is that I am now delivering half the paper returns I did before and people really like the ability to chat with me and see that status of their return when they log into the portal. Payments come in much faster too when you deliver the return hours after filing. The paperless return is real and TaxDome makes it easier than ever.

Cons

I let my early adoption clients self-register and it has resulted in duplicate accounts - I wish there was a way to merge them because I find that often a husband and wife who file jointly will self-register separately and if I do not catch it before they start uploading, I have to manually merge them to a joint account with two contacts and totally delete the additional account. If there were documents in the deleted account, I have to move those as well. I would say this reinforces the idea of a planned roll out with invitations to portal accounts that are already set up.

This is our second tax year to use Tax Dome and the more I learn, the more I like it and appreciate it.

Pros

The automations that can be built into the workflow pipelines are my favorite. It makes our processes able to be duplicated over and over and helps to remove me as a bottleneck.

Cons

The learning curve takes some time to get around. Ideally you would have someone on your team already familiar with it or purchase some already built systems and just to implement them in the beginning.

### "It's great, because it keeps getting better!"

Great! It saves so much time and as it improves and I get better with it I find more ways to have it help me in my practice.

Pros

That not only it offers solutions to most my problems, it updates so rapidly that the areas I wish it had solutions for are often addressed within a year or two.

Cons

I wish it had a solution for making the document presentation to the client a little easier, I have to print to it multiple times if I want the signature docs or payment vouchers to be easy to find, it would be great if TD had AI image recognition to find those docs and link to them. Also I want negative logic in pipelines so you can tell it to trigger for everyone except those with a certain tag.

Wonderful for the most part. Attentive customer service and easy to use.

Pros

Intuitive navigation and constant evolution to meet the needs of your clients.

Cons

Not being able to edit payments. If I log a payment and realize an error was made I shouldn't have to create a fake refund to remedy the situation. I should be able to make those changes and the system should update and reflect accordingly. Also that time I was baited to take a survey to receive a gift card, but when I went to the survey it said "unfortunately, there are no gift cards available at this time." I find it equally hilarious and rude. And I have follow up questions, like were there ever gift cards and they ran out, or were they never a thing and it was always a ploy to get the surveys completed? The banner for the survey was great, but feels like false advertising at its finest. Very disappointing.

### "What no to do with TaxDome"

Overall, I enjoy using TaxDome, except for the issue noted above. I believe a lot of my problem with Tax Dome has been that I just jumped in to use it and started working without having learned how to best use it before I began using it with my clients.

Pros

I love all of the templates that are available through TaxDome. Being able to provide a one portal for all of my clients has been a big plus for me too.

Cons

What I really dislike is that if I have questions on how to accomplish a specific tax issue, that I can't just find a quick answer. I now have to go and view a short video and that may not answer my specific question. Last year if I had a question, I knew I could usually get an answer back from a person within 48 hours or so.

I am happy with the program generally and would recommend it.

Pros

It provided a format that I was comfortable with for personal tax workflow and although it will be useful for other workflows (i.e. corporate, estate and bookkeeping) have not had time to get them up and running.

Cons

It is very time consuming fine tuning the workflows for a smaller office. The canned versions you have available could be further enhanced but having hands on designers that work in the fields of taxes and accounting. Or maybe you do?

We are in our second tax season using TaxDome and it has enhanced our business! Efficiency, Communication, Ability to follow where clients are at in their process, and to be able to See where workflow is for individuals and our big picture. The Pipelines have been transformative! Clients have reported that the TaxDome app is easy to use, they enjoy being able to do much of this on their phone. The TaxDome system has reduced our wait time for information from our clients. It is refreshing that TaxDome continues to Work on their product, taking something already fabulous and avidly working to make it even better on a seemingly daily basis.

Pros

Everything - easy to use for us and clients, efficient just awesome!

Cons

Not about TaxDome but about how many features we didn't and don't make full use of - strongly recommend all the help, videos, chat feature and Tax Dome employees. The help is there and there are best practices and so many features that when usedreally make a difference.

I originally did a test drive with Tax Dome and although not what I was used to using took a leap of faith. I am now moving into more things with the program and looking forward to more easier transitions for my clients.

I really appreciate that security for my clients. I love that Tax Dome has an app that functions like a text message with my clients and that I am notified.

I really don't have too many cons other than it is a little pricey and takes adjusting to learning the process, however overall its worth it!

### "Does it all"

Great - no downtime, easy to set up pipelines and organizers, almost all clients find it easy to use and the ones that don't aren't a good fit for my practice.

Pros

That it handles virtually all of my practice needs - the only this it doesn't do it prepare actual income tax returns for me.

Cons

Automated emails get sent to spouses separately instead of one email so it feels less personal - a human would send one email and include both spouses. I understand why this limitation exists, but I wish features like that felt less robotic - I end up not using them because I want communications to feel more personal. But that undermines a lot of my efficiencies. Some of the report views in the application itself export differently than what is shown which is confusing. For instance, the client accounts listing includes balance due but exporting that report doesn't include that information. Would love to be able to select invoices in the billing section to view a quick sum in the application instead of having to export a report and sum in Excel.

### "If I had something bad to say, support would fix it!"

It's great and fairly easy for clients to adapt to. I was worried about whether clients would bail at the idea of "another portal" - because I personally hate all the different portals I'm now a part of in everyday life. But by and large, customers have adapted and actually like the ocmmunications we've built in along the way to keep them up to date.

Ease of understanding, outstanding customer support, and SOC2 compliance

Cons

Initially there were some buggy things occasionally but support worked their way through those things and took on the comments of the users to make things better

### "Great Software"

It has been really positive. The customer support is good. It really is helping with the team communication and the client app is the reason I got it in the first place. My clients love it, and it makes me look good.

Pros

They are always improving their functionality. There were things that were suboptimal at first, but they have improved almost all of them.

Cons

We have been waiting on the proposal feature for a long time. I hope they add this soon. In addition, we need to be able to auto move jobs with pipelines based on clients completing tasks. They have made this an option for changing the status, but it could go another step farther so that it will change the job stage. Also, engagement letters should be able to be linked to a stage so when it is done it auto moves to create the organizer. Currently, it only does that if you use a standard proposal, but all of our proposals are custom.

Been good besides hearing about the recent data breach and that is not the first time.

The automation of processes and also the fact that the client has an app to communicate. The automatic reminders to clients are great also.

I enjoy using it so for my work flow and tax client handling. Being able to see what my colleagues are working on and respond to client emails from my colleagues email in case they are out of the office helps keep the work flow efficient.

Pros

The ability to track my billing hours, view emails from clients, and create tasks helps me to stay on top of my client tax situations and books.

Cons

Only certain emails come through when it will be good if i can connect my email account and no-clients emails will come through as well for the potential clients who eventually get turned into clients.

I like being able to keep so much of my information and operations in a single spot.

Cons

I wish Inbox+ notifications were more customizable. I wish emails synced faster. Often client emails don't show up in my Inbox+ until many hours later. I wish there were options to customize who can edit Wiki pages.

### "Bumpy Start"

I am getting a lot of pushback from clients. However, we havent been able to test the pipeline so this may change as we navigate the new waters.

Pros

I like the tags and the pipeline looks like it will save the firm time. Still trying to figure out everything I need to do to get it up and running.

Cons

I wanted it to be able to collect payments through CPACharge that I set up with credit cards fees to be paid by clients. When I turn off the integration it still looks like we take payments through portal and clients are annoyed. ### "Great for Small Businesses! "

Absolute 10 of out 10!! A great CRM with incredible onboarding!

Pros

Our small office absolutely LOVES TaxDome (TD), we find it to be very user-friendly and a great way to send emails in bulk, engagement letter in bulk, portal access to our clients to upload their documents and their mobile app is a wonderful tool we can offer to clients as well. For small businesses with a lot of clients, we find it to be a great tool for tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, minor tasks, sales tax services, and so much more! We've only scratched the surface but as we continue to dive into it we find more ways with how this software can help us. We anticipate using this for many years to come!

Cons

While TaxDome is still a "young" company, they are constantly coming out with new developments in their software. We hope as they continue to grow, they will also continue to improve the overall experience for clients and mostly business owners to make it even better for billing, teams, workflows, and more as our office continues this journey.

Great! It makes running a firm while trying to be flexible about where I work and when.

Pros

I rely on two software products to run my tax prep business, TaxDome and my tax prep software. All of the features that it offers, document sharing, communication, project tracking, document signing, etc., all work great and I use them often.

Cons

Honestly, because of all the features it has, it wouldn't surprise me if didn't integrate with Intuit and other tax software services, which would be my only complaint.

8/10 experience with room for improvements. Our customers love the portal and its easy to sign up, this has improved our client engagements.

Pros

Customer support, improved engagement letter workflows, set up support, client portals, better workflows.

Cons

Lacks a good time tracking feature, lacks easy to produce management reports, hard to follow terminology.

TaxDome saves me a lot of administrative time that I can use serving my clients instead.

Pros

It is very easy to set up and use. I like how it pulls in emails from my other accounts when they involve my clients. Loading documents is simpler and quicker than with other tools I have used.

Cons

I would like to see better integration with my tax software. This will be the next area of great time savings.
