is on the ball!!! After starting my bookkeeping firm a year ago, I spent hours and weeks evaluating a tech stack that would meet my needs. After a few failed attempts at other solutions, I landed on Financial Cents and haven't looked back! They know how to stay on top of feature updates that are meaningful and useful, and are embracing AI which was a must for me when selecting a platform. It's been a wonderful deployment and implementation and I'm excited to use more of the features as my firm grows

Pros

They are continually added useful features and updates that are meaningful in making the product easy to use. They are embracing AI and incorporating it into the templating process (super cool). The support from is outstanding, very responsive and in front of their community asking for feedback and feature requests to make our firm running easier. Oh and the Client Portal! Great portal that is easy for clients to use, no password required (magic links)

Cons

The one downside was that it lacked a way to integrate with the rest of my tech stack.... and BOOM! They just released Zapier support for integration! So the one thing I disliked, has now been taken care of!

Pros

I don't have to chase clients nearly as much with their to-do lists and client portals set up. They can ask questions, and I can add accountability tasks for clients for them to be reminded automatically, and everything is pretty customizable - including the reminder emails.

Cons

It's still growing and missing features like bulk movement in their document system, but they're working on it. They're great at listening to end-user input.

Price was far more reasonable for smaller firms, and we don't do tax so we don't need all of those bells and whistles. FC has a no-password and simple portal and we can give our clients to-do's instead of us being responsible for constantly chasing down bank statements!

### "I LOVE Financial Cents"

I have just started creating my account and will be implementing it starting August 1st. In the process of moving everything over from my current CRM. But everything I have seen that it does, I am very happy and excited to start using it. It will save me so much time between tracking my employees time in another 3rd party and trying to figure out if I am over budget with hours for my clients. Right now I have to print a report in QBO and then put the hours in an excel spreadsheet and compare with the budget. F.C. will do all that within the software. Plus it will let my employees know how much time they have to work with so they can also watch their time and know if they are taking too long on a project.

Pros

This had everything you need in a CRM. From Timekeeping, track estimated hours a job should take, billing, effective hourly rate, automated client tasks reminders. Recurring tasks. It also has a chat with support right in the software and they are very responsive and answers all my questions that I may have throughout setting up my account. Clients can get reminded for task they need to complete and they can upload right into the software without setting up a login for themselves. I am super excited about this feature. I won't have to worry about reminding them. They are reminded how often you want until they complete the task.

Cons

The fact we have to pay per user. It could get expensive if I hire too many employees. But for what it offers, it's worth what I pay for now. I have 3 users.

I am less than 30 days in - I love it, my staff loves it. I took the leap, it is pricier than I would have liked - but I see it as an investment on our future. If this helps us get/stay organized then we can grow. Who does not like growth?

Pros

I love that it too little to no effort to understand, all of the intro videos were so helpful. They got me started on the right path. I love that it is like taking my brain and putting it into order. It helps me get/stay organized.

Cons

Price - It was a little steep for me. But I am taking a leap of faith that I will use this - as well as my team.

### "Financial Cents workflow solution + CRM truly rocks"

Overall this solution keeps me on track daily, provides a place to store ALL my client details and communication in one place, and hugely simplifies my daily work. I would not be able to stay on top of the work, or take on new clients without this amazing all-in-one solution.

Pros

I'd like to share a bit of feedback about why I am still a very satisfied user of : (1) My clients love it (and that's a win-win), (2) the automated monthly client task lists are easily customizable for each client, allowing me to request monthly information with a one-time set up that is sent to clients every month, (3) Their support is extraordinary, (4) they have monthly webinars to share information on new features, and (5) they are always adding new features based on user's (like me) feedback. -- I can't imagine ever using another solution since this one truly has everything I need in one place.

Cons

There are two minor things I wish were different - (1) I wish I could see my private "client notes" from within a current job I'm working on, rather than having to leave the job to look at client notes. (2) I look forward to the built-in signature feature so I can start using the Proposals feature!

So far amazing. The product works beautifully. No bugs. It's fast and reliable.

Pros

Love the speed of this cloud based product. It is so fast, it makes managing products really easy and prevents the build up of neglected project tasks being used. I also love the ease of use and it's very bug free. I rarely have issues.

Cons

No ability to invoice yet. I hear it's in development for 2024.

Pros

We evaluated many tools before onboarding FC. This is the simplest and easiest tool to get up to speed quickly with. They have best-in-class support alongside a fantastic system for firm management.

Cons

They don't come with all of the bells and whistles of other systems that would be nice, but they appear to be in development of some core features that would unlock further value.

It's a good program. The only con is that the price increases regularly and you want to join asap to get grandfathered into new features.

Pros

Really all the features are great and new features are constantly being added.

Cons

The client portal (need a place to put client deliverables, this is a feature that will be coming) and document management systems don't function in a way that suits what I want. They are very similar to other similar systems like TaxDome, Canopy and Karbon, I am just very particular in these spaces. I like using CaseWare for document management

It does not take a full time person to keep it up to date. Actually each user keeps their own work up to date and an administrator only jumps in to work on missed due dates.

Pros

Built in videos that walk you through each section of the program.

Cons

We hesitated to write a review because this program is such a boon to our accounting practice we did not want knowledge of it to leak out to other accounting practices.

Reason for choosing Financial Cents

has a fresh, modern UI and very intuitive processes, whereas the two alternatives are dated and require a full time administrator which we could not spare. It does focus on accounting firms that still bill by the hour versus the newer value based pricing model, however.

Nutshell is a Sales oriented CRM. Due to its task assignment features and internal communications facilities it served us very well for some time. We were reluctant to go with either of the two legacy programs, but when arrived we immediately transferred our client base over through a very easy to use integration with QuickBooks Online and we haven't looked back.

I happy to have implemented this. We have been using several practice management application - it either difficult to set up or difficult to maintain - is easy to set up and maintain and it works for us.

Pros

Ease of use and set up. Our staff have no difficulty suing it from ground up. Thereare also a lot of training videos.

Cons

I can't find any that is major items to consider a weakness. so far we love it all.

Overall, I can't praise it enough. And I'm very picky about software. I've tried about 5 different client management softwares and this one is the best. It is pricier than others. However, if you take into account the 25 hours a month it saves me. Overall, it's actually saving me money. IMO .. the features don't compare with other CRM's for accountants.

Pros

The client portal system and automatic reminders have saved my sanity. I honestly can't praise it enough.

Cons

You pay same price per user. I wish it was just additional cost per user not double the price.

Other than having to do a lot of copying and pasting, and struggling with the lack of reports we really need, we couldn't be happier with the application as well as the customer service. Since is still relatively young, they are constantly developing and adding new features. If we're having issues, they get back with us almost immediately. We are more organized today as a firm than we ever have been, all because of Financial Cents.

Pros

It has really helped our firm keep track of all work we do for our clients without things falling through the cracks. Because of that, we are able to elevate the level of service we give our clients. By documenting every phone call, email and meeting, we don't have to sift through files looking for the last thing we talked about or did for them.

Cons

We spend a lot of time copying and pasting activities we do for clients between their main dashboard and projects we are working on for them. Then if the client has multiple entities, that chore is magnified. It also lacks a robust reporting feature that we are keeping our fingers crossed they implement very soon.

Pros

It is easy to use and navigate around different pages. I love the timer. It in a great location that is hard to miss and helps you use it! The tasks are amazing! So helpful and you can assign tasks to different people! Projects are wonderful as well! Being able to change an email into a project is a game changer! Projects just makes the flow easier and consistent. I also love having a link to family members and businesses accounts.

Cons

It would be nice if the save button / cancel button were consistently in the same spot. Sometimes it is on the the save button is first and then cancel button and others the cancel button is first and then the save button. I don't like how you can uncheck a task that has been completed so easily. A second step would be helpful. Also name, date and time stamp of who completed task or when task was marked uncompleted would be helpful.

The ability to see capital capacity for hours to work that we have. The fact that we can have dependency on different tasks

The implementation has taken us longer than I had hoped. So now there is cleanup needed before I feel confident that I can rely on the software for what is due.

Our workflow was disorganized at best, being a small firm with an increasingly large book of business. helped streamline our projects and hold our staff accountable to their responsibilities. The communication with the creator of the software was absolutely phenomenal - he fixed any issues almost immediately, and implemented personal suggestions, as well as being available when we needed him for any questions.

Pros

has one of the easiest UIs I've ever encountered. It's quick to learn, reasonably priced, and new features are constantly being released with an immense tap into the pulse of what its users require.

Cons

Software integration was the biggest hiccup with our firm. Though it does integrate with Quickbooks Online and Xero, there is no easy Quickbooks Desktop integration. I understand that this is increasingly becoming less and less industry standard, but it would have made implementation a little easier.

Pros

All of its features, I use it all! Time tracking is easy and detailed. Work flow is easy and I can set up as many or as few as needed. Setting up automatic notifications to my clients helps relieve some mental load and saves time!

Cons

I would like to the automatic notification emails sent to my clients. But that's about it!

So far I really like it. It has allowed me to stop keeping a paper checklist to be able to see where clients are during weekly or monthly processing

Pros

I love the birds-eye view of the projects where you can see the status (what % complete the project is and who's next on the task list)

Cons

I wish tasks were a bit more flexible - and I wish the client communication was more robust to be able to get rid a secondary client communication portal

\[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] was awesome with the demo which started the process. Implementing was great since it linked to QBO and pulled in my customer list. I have been using it since the free trial and couldn't imagine NOT using it now.

Pros

Easy to use, support that listens and its continually adding new features as they learns what is important to the user. Sharing with me team - ideal, check lists so I know where I am at and then adding tags so I can see at a glance where the work is - incredible.

Cons

I wish it had email integration - that's the final piece and I can use this for EVERYTHING. Perhaps a library of templates from users, bookkeepers and accountants marked for various software use - would make templates more robust.
