Every time I have had difficulties...the help has been fast and helpful. Reason for choosing Castr Frankly, the price was the first consideration when beginning, since a church is always shoestring, but all around the quality has been awesome. Pros Great value for features provided. Good Tech Support. They have assisted me to resolve issues several times. Cons I have still not had any success using the Chat Overlay feature. The browser URL never seems to work. But, this could be an error in configuration on my part. I haven't discussed this with Tech support so far. Reason for choosing Castr Limited upload bandwidth for multiple streams. Castr allows for a single upload stream to multiple platforms and therefore minimizes the bandwidth required from our current ISP plan. It made it easy on the software and the hardware by keeping resources allocated to one central destination. Cons Certain features we wanted were in a bundle level that we didn't necessarily need at the time and size of our audience. I was nice once we did get those features and decided it was worth the value in the end. I had started using it during the free phase, and have since used the 3 platform plan. It was recommended to me as an alternative to other more expensive services that did similar things, and I continue to recommend it to fellow streamers who are looking to simulcast, but may be on a tight budget. Cons I haven't really found anything that I dislike about this software. I keep my streams pretty simple, in regards to crowding the screen with too much junk and/or bells and whistles. I haven't used any other simulcasting service, so I can't really say anything bad about this product or any other, other than competitors' prices. We cast from OBS, and the setup was extremely easy. I especially appreciate that I can modify stream titles directly from Castr. When we were having throughput issues, Castr's helpful technical support was able to isolate an issue with our ISP, which we were then able to resolve. Pros Does what we need it to do in a straight-forward and reliable way. It has some features that we don't need, but they don't get in the way. Cons Web UI could be a little more polished. For example, when login sessions expire, it sometimes takes a minute for the page to realize this and kick you back to the login screen. A minor annoyance, if you could even call it that. October 19, 2020 5.0 Pros Our church live streams to Facebook and YouTube and this software has been perfect for streaming to multiple platforms simultaneously. It's simple to use and we have had no problems with the quality of the stream coming through Castr. Cons There have been a few times where the live stream did not work (YouTube specifically), and the solution was to re-enter the stream key. We have a static stream key for YouTube so I'm not sure if that was a glitch with Castr or the destination site. Did a 5 destination multistream last week for 3 days in a row with changing event topics and it worked seamlessly. Cons With my tier there should be at least one way to easily grab and integrate comments from the various social media destinations. Reason for choosing Castr I had 5 or 6 alternatives that I considered but Castr had by far the greatest bang for the buck.
