### "Easy to use payroll software with useful HR features"

October 23, 2025

4.0

Very good and very responsive customer service. Running bi-weekly payroll was very simple and easy, much easier than on ADP.

Pros

Excellent payroll system and very easy to uses. Some of the reports can be a bit complicated to figure out but this software made running payroll a breeze. Onboarding new employees was a breeze.

Cons

The reports were very complicated to figure out and the process to run them wasn't very user friendly. I often had to contact my customer rep to have them run specific reports.

### "Avoid ProLiant - Select A Different Vendor"

May 14, 2025

1.0

Very negative. Our representative is snarky, and has never worked in payroll professionally at all. Further, weekly scheduled meetings to streamline communication are often missed and/or canceled, until ultimately we have decided to just try to figure things out ourselves.

Pros

The cost has been affordable. That's about the only good thing I can say at this p oint.

Cons

Service. Terrible Service. We can't get answers to questions, when we do, we're encouraged to "purchase an upgrade" to solve the problems we have. It took as 6 months or better to get payroll processed properly.

At the time, Bamboo was a bit behind on EDIs for benefit carriers, and we needed to streamline our systems communication. We went with ProLiant because they had the EDIs already built. A regret now, I must say.

### "Payroll ease"

August 20, 2025

5.0

We use it for 500 plus employees hourly and salaried. The support from the ProLiant team is great. We reach out to our main contact, and he usually gets back to us same day.

Pros

Best feature compared to other payroll software's is the reporting features. I can run a report for the specific needs of each department and management.

Cons

As with most payroll software's using their timeclock systems should flow great. However, human error for a heavy payroll needs to be simplified in my opinion. Stand out where it sees corrections are needed.

### "A very solid tool but has its flaws"

September 18, 2025

Overall, proliant delivers solid performance and support, though setup can be tricky for complex setups

Pros

Proliant’s reliable tech and expert support make managing IT easy and efficient every day which is very appreciated

Cons

Proliant can be costly, and sometimes setup takes longer than expected for complex systems which delays the installation

### "Easy To Use HRIS With A Budget Friendly Focus"

May 24, 2023

4.0

Proliant is an overall efficient HRIS suite that can deliver on a budget.

Pros

Proliant features a suite of easy to use HRIS. The implementation is not a long an drawn out process based on my experience and business size. The price is in line with the features.

Cons

Some services that Proliant offers are sub-par and can use better customer service. We use the full tax services that Proliant offers and though the services are full-filled, the customer services of the tax team is lacking. Takes multiple queries to receive a response and the response time is below par. Next is the Attendance On Demand time keeping module, this is by far my least favorite or I should say the worst part about Proliant's HRIS. If you are looking for a simple but dated time keeping system then you should have no issues. But if you are looking for a technically up-to-date system to track time, manage time keeping, and have real time analytics then this is not the one for you.

### "Proliant is the best!"

Outstanding.

Pros

We made the move to Proliant at the recommendation of our accountant and my only complaint is that we didn't make the change sooner. Our account manager is fantastic, and I believe we are receiving excellent ROI. Mid-year integration in 2021 was seamless and we haven't had any issues.

Cons

We haven't had any negative experiences to-date.

### "One Happy Customer"

April 7, 2025

5.0

In my overall experience, I am definitely looking forward to seeing what other features and programs are added to continue to improve the customer experience.

Pros

I like the ability to have everything in one place. Payroll, benefits, performance management. What I like most about the service is it is a one stop shop. The service team response has gotten better as well.

Cons

I do not enjoy the new design. It is unnecessarily complex and I have trouble locating needed features, which used to be easy to find.

### "Proliant offers a complete package"

February 28, 2023

5.0

We are starting our 7th year with Proliant and have been very happy with the services provided. Our previous payroll company presented a few challenges which Proliant has been able to assist with solving those challenges. No real complaints about the product.

Pros

Proliant's features help with payroll, related taxes and filings, 401k transmission, onboarding new employees, job costing. They system offers general reporting as well as the capability of creating your own customized report for whatever information you are looking for.

Cons

there is an auto generated end date for Branch, Department and Jobs. sometimes these drop off without some sort of warning that it is going to end and then employees code their time to something else since they can not locate the correct code. It would be nice if there was a notice that something was going to end date so it could be checked to see if the end date needs to be extended.

### "Proliant..more than just payroll"

November 3, 2021

5.0

Our experience with Proliant has been great. Our account manager is very responsive when we have questions or experience any issues.

Pros

I like that the training links are available to train new employees or even a refresher for current employees on something they may not have completed in a while. They system is always on the most recent version. I like that is integrates with our benefits system and our ERP solution.

Cons

I honestly do not have any areas of the software that I do not like.

### "Proliant is a product to consider"

December 3, 2021

4.0

Pros

Proliant is a fairly easy product to learn with enough information on screens to handle most employers needs. The on boarding process is very easy and includes reminders for action steps. We have found the support team to be very responsive to helping us with issues or learning new sections.

Cons

Two things that I have not enjoyed about the software are minimal. One is I feel there could be a note section on some of the screens when you want to put why you made a change. This would be a very easy thing to build into their software. Secondly I think the payroll section could automatically start with a new check instead of having to click that you want to start a new check. If you have already clicked that you are starting new payroll it should be an assumption that when you enter the name you’re ready to start a new check instead of having to click an extra button to start a new check for every person. I think some of the payroll screens could be streamlined a little better.

### "Honest Review of My Experience With Recommendation NOT to use Proliant "

December 5, 2023

3.0

Overall, easy to use platform. The electronic onboarding was the best feature. The customer service is suboptimal, mistakes were occasionally, but parting with them for valid reasons causes them to maliciously try and stick it to their former customers by withholding personnel records that were already paid for. There is absolutely no reasoning with \[sensitive content hidden\]. For these reasons, I want to warn any company thinking about using them for payroll.

Pros

We switched to Proliant for the electronic onboarding and because our last payroll had poor customer service. The price was fair and their platform was user friendly. Our overall favorite service was the electronic onboarding feature.

Cons

We had a good customer service rep for the first 6 months. The next one was terrible. Then we got \[sensitive content hidden\]. She was better but dropped the ball several time in the past 18 months. We had to escalate the poor customer service up, which took speaking with multiple people to get resolution. Our 1095-A's for 2022 were not completed accurately despite spending a large amount of time trying to work Proliant on the accuracy. Ultimately, we decided to leave due to the poor customer service but it wasn't until we gave notice and left that their real character was reveled. We paid the three month penalty to the tune of $1600 and were given 30 days to download our payroll reports, which we did. They are currently holding our Personnel records including our W4's, I9's, job descriptions, employee handbook acknowledgment and various policy and procedures for ransom, trying to extort more money for access to our records. Our attorney reviewed the service agreement and the term payroll reports is all that is used in the 30 day clause. There is no definition of what happens to the electronic signature forms that were obtained and paid for already during our monthly service when they were signed. I am absolutely appalled that Proliant would keep such important records for any business.

### "Not delivering what was expected"

November 8, 2021

3.0

If we were using Proliant to simply run payroll, I think we would be fully satisfied. It's the other areas that we constantly experience problems, and thought that by switching to a smaller company, we would have more dedicated service. It often seems our dedicated account representatives are overwhelmed with other clients, as I often have to make several attempts to reach out in order to get a response, and some issues continue to remain unresolved. Unfortunately, we have actually given up on finding solutions to several issues at this point (transfers between company locations, 401k terminations, overlapping day clock ins, and time off requests, are just several examples that we continue to experience issues with on a recurring basis).

Pros

Payroll processing is a breeze. If that is all you are using it for, you will love its ease of use and functionality. At the price point offered, it is a very economical choice for basic functionality.

Cons

Communication between Time & Labor and Ready Pay Online is lacking. Continued issues since day one that have still not been ironed out in regard to transferring employees to new locations, time off tracking, browser accessibility, and 401(k) integration, just to name a few.

Reason for choosing Proliant

I had used Proliant with a prior company, but without the full functionality that we were needing with my current employer. I still believe that if only basic payroll processing was needed, we'd be completely satisfied.

### "Need more support"

November 8, 2021

3.0

I like Proliant and I appreciate all of Daron's efforts to help us. We are a needy customer, and I acknowledge that.

Pros

The reporting tools in RPO are very powerful and work pretty well.

Cons

Attendance on Demand is completely over engineered for our needs. It's very frustrating trying to learn the system, is not intuitive, and is inflexible for what I want it to do. I really like having a dedicated account manager, but I often feel they are stretched too thin. Training on the system has been difficult. The training documents are not helpful at all because these are not configured for our particular setup, especially as it relates to Attendance on Demand. In the reporting tool, I've asked about a DOZEN different people in different departments to help me configure one specific report: A snapshot of the active employees on a given day in history; I want to be able to pull a simple report saying who was actively employed on October 22, 2019, for example... NOT who are the active employees TODAY with data from that time period. I've requested this from my account managers (4 different people), client relationships managers (2 different people), and trainers (3 different people). No one has been able to support me on this simple request.

Reason for choosing Proliant

I think we need a longer time together to truly fully learn the Proliant systems.

### "Great Customer Service and Implementation, Product is Good Quality"

October 29, 2021

5.0

So glad we switched to Proliant- we were using APS and it was a miserable experience. I have used ADP in the past and did not want that again. I have also used several different ATS' s and this one is one of the best.

Pros

Relatively user-friendly, customer service is very responsive, implementation was smooth. Any minor issues that come up are addressed immediately.

Cons

The product itself can be a little clunky. The mobile app is good, but has some issues- specifically: lag time where the employee thinks the time punch didn't go through so they double-punch. Some of this depends on the employee and wifi, but this happens even when wifi is strong. Hoping this is resolved in later versions. Also, the different components (ATS, Benefits portal, Payroll, etc.) while the systems talk together, there is a certain amount of clunkiness between systems (i.e. different branding, etc.)

Reason for choosing Proliant

The other software that was in our final selection group was BambooHR and Paycom. While Paycom was great during the demo and the pricing was higher than Proliant, but within budget, the many reviews on their poor customer service and implementation kept them out of our final decision. BambooHR was not chosen because of pricing and lack of personalized responses to our questions during the review phase.

### "Economical solution, but has its quirks and deficiencies"

February 23, 2021

4.0

I love Proliant and support this company. I appreciate their vision and what they are doing, but I think they are experiencing some growing pains. They are always willing to help and because their programming is in-house, suggestions you make to improve the platform are taken seriously and implemented. This is one of their greatest strengths. They are constantly updating and making improvements!

Pros

Proliant is very easy to use, for the most part. The system makes sense. The products offered for the price are the best bang for your buck when compared to other HRIS. Also, the dedicated service team is wonderful and makes things so much easier, especially if you are a smaller company.

Cons

The functionality between Proliant and their Time and Labor system is terrible. There are constant issues with the communication between Proliant and Time and Labor, causing somewhat of an administrative burden. It's manageable, but a pain.

### "Look Elsewhere"

October 26, 2021

1.0

Proliant was a terrible decision. Nothing with them went to plan and we were never technically fully moved out of implementation even though we spent two plus years with them. The customer service provided was always terrible, so much so that we had several phone calls with upper management because of the poor treatment that we received. This being said, the sales team clearly over sold what they were able to deliver. The system is a few different systems parsed together so there is not a clear and uniform flow from one area to the other. Overall, Proliant was one of the worst mistakes that we ever made. Be weary if they try to sell you their software.

Pros

The best thing about Proliant is its cost. The software is not very expensive compared to other full suite payroll options. Additionally the main UI is somewhat pleasing and simple to use.

Cons

The worst thing about Proliant is its software. I am not sure if there is someone behind the curtain constantly changing permissions and data, but those things were certainly to us. Furthermore, their customer service is abysmal. Never have we dealt with such a company that was so inept at its own system. Even though our representatives were the "experts" they constantly had to communicate with other departments and their superiors in order to resolve even the most simple of issues.

### "Fantastic Customer Service Has Earned My Loyalty"

February 28, 2023

5.0

The system is easy and the assigned Rep is fantastic. I love knowing I have an assigned individual who is extremely responsive that sends easy, visual directions so that I quickly can accomplish whatever task I couldn't figure out on my own. Over the years, Proliant has grown with my company where it was only 1 other employee to more than a dozen today.

Pros

The software itself are generally easy and intuitive, but what I like best is the personalized customer service. My assigned Rep (Robby) is 100% fantastic. Every time I email him with a question about the platform he replies within minutes (I think the longest way was an hour or two). He sends me step-by-step screenshot directions on how to accomplish whatever I was hoping to do. He also will reach out with deadline reminders to make sure payroll and other related items stay on schedule. As to the platform, it's easy to do payroll and only takes about 10 minutes even after adding personalized PTO and commissions. Proliant's personalized customer service sets them far apart from other payroll services and has earned them a loyal customer.

Cons

I'm not an HR guy, but as the owner of a small company with a dozen employees, the task falls to me. I'm not up on a lot of the lingo so it requires me to ask more questions as it's not super-easy to figure out items on my own. Luckily, it's easy to just ask my Rep who's extremely responsive, negativing what otherwise would be a negative towards Proliant.

Reason for choosing Proliant

My wife is a financial advisor and CPA, and she talked with our CPA and other sources to create a list of a few different companies that she then methodically researched and interviewed. Ultimately, she told me to use Proliant and I'm glad I did.

### "Payroll made easy"

March 10, 2022

4.0

Overall I am pleased with Proliant. Sometimes it takes a while to get assistance when you have an issue. I think that it may be a staffing issue. It's a sign of the times to be short staffed these days. Our customer service rep is great, I just think she gets overwhelmed with calls and emails sometimes. I would recommend Proliant to anyone who needs a payroll system. I used to work for another payroll company and I would choose Prolaint over them any day of the week.

Pros

Using the software is easy. I like how you can edit the wizard fields to help create just what you need to enter a new employee. Easy to find the information that you need quickly by using the different tabs. Excellent training options right from the software, you get the training any time you wish to view it. Several useful reports are already created for use.

Cons

When the software is being updated you can lose some of the functions. They need to do more testing to make sure everything works before they launch it. Sometimes they go back and forth before they correct the issues or the server is down. It can be challenging at times. When it works, it works great. Unfortunately, Payroll is time sensitive and when you need to use it, you need it to work properly.

### "Proliant Review "

May 24, 2023

5.0

Proliant has been a great tool to use since I have worked in the HR department. It is easy to use and helpful with new hires. The support contacts are easy to get a hold of and respond in a timely manner.

Pros

Applicant Tracking, Reviews, and Time and Attendance are all easy to use and have helped our company with putting a stop to using paper. It has been easy to navigate things and see how it works.

Cons

Reports in my opinion could use some improvement; some types of reports are not able to be run in Proliant and it causes a little frustration. The reports writer and library work well but could use some improvement in my opinion.

### "Cross your fingers "

March 1, 2023

3.0

We’ve been through 3 or 4 different account reps since I can remember, our newest has been a terrible experience. Anytime we call and leave a message we never get a response. Even half our emails our ignored until several follow ups are given. Typically would receive an answer late Friday afternoon and typically a wrong answer or a I’ll look into it. Finally we’ve been able to get some quick answers to easy questions since we started tagging his supervisor. Anytime we do not tag her we still get put by the wayside. It seems it’s always somebody else that can help or we have to wait on.

Pros

Searching functions are great, everything in one place. We’ve had two successful trainings when adding new products to our lineup. The addition of two new entities went relatively smooth, \[sensitive content hidden\] was awesome. We’ve also had great help and success from \[sensitive content hidden\]. It’s too bad those types of people are not account representers.

Cons

Needs to be some way of telling if an employee is active or termed while searching. Better explanation on the reports you can run. Easier functionality for all entities.

### "Proliant Review"

October 30, 2021

5.0

Overall I like Proliant a lot compared to the other payroll companies I have used in the past. I love the fact that I can always talk to the same person and if I have a question it gets answered right away and I don't have to call 10 times and talk to a different person each time and my problem never gets resolved like it was with my previous payroll companies, and if I leave a message my calls get returned in a timely manner.

Pros

The easiness of using it. Once you learn how it works it's easy to find what I need and to input payroll, as well as put in deductions for my employees.

Cons

The reports for work comp audit could be easier to find and use. I always have trouble making sure I'm not sending in the wrong dates for the audit from year to year. What makes it hard is the date of the checks versus the dates worked in that period, to make sure it lines up from year to year without overlapping. I don't want to pay work comp double because of sending the wrong dates.

Reason for choosing Proliant

I was looking for something better and thought I would give Proliant a try and have been with Proliant ever since. I really didn't look at other companies at the time.

### "Growing our small business"

November 10, 2021

4.0

With help from Proliant, we are working hard to create processes that will improve our employee experience. From new hire processes taking place online, to providing resources to our staff that will allow them the ability to have information they need, when they need it. Ranging from changing direct deposit details, printing a pay stub.

Pros

As a small business that is growing, we will begin utilizing Proliant to support our new hire process. We are looking forward to having the ability to have an Employee Self Service Module, as well as an easy to follow employee set-up. The ability to easily set up and change direct deposit information and for employees to change their addresses and print their own paystubs will save us time and paper while creating efficiencies.

Cons

We are just beginning to utilize more than the basic functions, so we are still learning and early in the set-up process. We should know more in the coming months if there are items that don't work as well as we had hoped.

### "Great beginning into HRIS software for a small nonprofit."

October 29, 2021

4.0

Implementation was well-guided and training was helpful. It's not the most intuitive software I have ever used, but it's not difficult

Pros

Excel time sheets are a thing of the past, and we enjoy a timekeeping system that integrates with payroll. The Proliant set up team worked with us to track both grants and activities, which makes payroll accounting much easier. W2s and pay stubs are available for employees to access in the same system where they enter time, and they are able to make changes to their benefits allocations in the system.

Cons

The help features are not that helpful. There is a library of topics, but it is nearly impossible to navigate. The multi-factor authentication also makes me a little nuts. Because my browser is set to limit cookies, I have to log in, get a code from my email, then answer three questions every time I log in. No other site I visit is as rigorous. I understand that there is a lot of sensitive data, but might appreciate an MFA app like Salesforce uses.

Reason for choosing Proliant

Good balance of features and price, could handle our complex grant accounting designations
