Most attendees get the hang of how to use the platform within 5 minutes with a simple tutorial. Pros The ability to recreate live, interactive events faithfully in a virtual space in a much better fashion than Zoom, MS Teams, or the "first person shooter" style expo platforms Cons Unexpected bugs and inopportune errors seem to occur at the worst times. Most individuals who participate in our events have never used Remo before, and their adjustment period to the platform is both brief and tinged with surprise. Our participants seem to enjoy using Remo, and we can say the same. Pros When I was first introduced to Remo, it didn't take long to realize that this online platform could become a very valuable internet tool. Our organization has since used it for networking and social events, as well as a meeting space for online conferences. I enjoy the freedom of movement that Remo gives its participants, as well as the way it facilitates networking via the participants LinkedIn button. Cons I wish that there was an easier way to change the layout and formatting of the Remo event space, so that an organization could customize their Remo space the way they would customize an actual event space. Reason for choosing Remo We are using Remo in conjunction with other online platforms, such as Zoom. But for day to day or anything liek that,I'll stick with Zoom. Pros The virtual ballroom is more visually appealing than other types of breakout room spaces. There are some decent tools - IF you know where to find them and how to use them. Cons I had two issues that came up - neither of which customer service was able to help me with. ONE of them, the biggest one, was a mic issue! I kept getting generic answers that weren't helping. The issue was that Google wasn't selecting my defauly Mic. The custemer service person didn't tell me I could select my default mic IN the platform - even after I made the suggestion that they should have that feature! That's a major failure for me. Though, I have no idea about value for money. Pros \- Recreate the conference environment pretty well - easy to interact with others - allows several speakers on stage Cons \- Virtually separating floors create kind of a panic: if I move from my seat to another floor, will I find it empty again upon my return? And may I pick someone else seat if the event manager did not assign me one? I look forward to figuring out more ways to integrate it in our trainings Pros What I liked most about the platform is whiteboard feature. In our teambuilding activity this featured allowed us to be creative in getting to know one another. We had each person post an image from a highlight from their summer. After they posted it, they then would share the story behind their image they posted. Cons Overall the biggest area I feel that is missing from Remo is the ability to see everyone at once like in ZOOM's gallery mode. The ability to see everyone creates a unique connection. Pros I like how the software is designed like a building with floors and tables. It makes it easy for everyone to find people who share similar interests with them. I also like the fact that we can add contact information to our profiles, which allows us to keep in touch after events. I love the table design with different people per table. That’s brilliant because you can also have private conversations with few people. Cons It is hard for attendees to access the video and microphone feature when they are using their phones to join Remo events. So, that’s my least favorite part. Remo has helped us bridge that gap and have people still talk to each other during conferences. We can still present what we would normally have on stage in a window for everyone. Our clients live the interaction. Our unique video system lets us ingest video into the main presentation window with multi camera and presentations as well as video playback all in one window. Cons We live everything about REMO, the one item we would like even more is a full 16x9 camera window instead of 4x3. That's a small thing, and doesn't limit our use of REMO. We are on the cutting edge of virtual meetings in our industry thanks to this product. The ability to table hop and to speak camera-to-camera with others at the event hugely simplifies booth shows and round table discussions. Cons There are a number of features not yet available, but I believe Remo is aware of these suggested changes and is hoping to deploy many (if not all) of them in the near future. It is great for networking events because you are able to go to different break-out rooms and network with other people. Cons I don't like that the break rooms are only for 6 people I wish it was more like 10. It is also not well known so not that many people know how to use it. I am especially impressed by the floor and table features that allow different groups to separate and discuss, allows a user to move between groups easily, and still allows for broadcasting to all groups if needed. Plus, the whiteboard function is easy to use and highly effective in arranging a presentation. Overall, great software. Cons It will be great if the bar at the bottom and the chat box could be moved around the screen by the user. Additionally, the chat box sometimes glitched, so I had to reopen it a couple of times.
