June 28, 2019 5.0 This was a lifesaver to show students vetted YouTube videos without worrying about inappropriate ads or other videos. YouTube provides a bountiful library of great videos for education but without SafeShare the use of those videos would be too risky. Pros As a teacher I greatly appreciate no ads & no other video suggestions or auto-playing successive videos. I also like the option for start the video at any point - that's awesome. Cons There started to be too many buttons to click or boxes to check... I liked it better when the format/layout was simpler and less complex. But that's just my preference. It solves the problem of inappropriate ads popping up, and makes it easy to show just the right amount of a video to accomplish my objective. Pros What is best is the fact that you can take any video and put it into SafeShare.tv and then select just a small clip to use which is so helpful in the classroom. What I particularly appreciate is how easy it is to redo a clip if the end result was not exactly what I wanted. Also I appreciate the different ways I can show videos: I can show videos from the website or I can share a link with my students who can watch at home and come to class prepared for discussions. Cons One negative is that sometimes SafeShare.tv refuses to accept the video; I get a message saying the link contains inappropriate material. I do not use it anymore because of the reasons listed above. Pros I really like that it filters out everything else on Youtube. Cons I have used your product for years, however, I have recently started using SafeYouTube because I was running into a lot of problems with my links discontinuing to work. I use this mainly in an elementary school and it was starting to make the students download applications in order to access my videos. Also, Safeshare is starting to be blocked by many schools. I love not having the stress of screening ads, popups, and similar videos when a show a video in class. I can plug in the video url I want to use and I am given a safe link to show my students only the video I wanted them to see! Pros I love that I can plug a YouTube (or other video) url into the program and I am given a new url that is as free. You never know what will pop up when you're on YouTube that you don't want kids to see and I love that SafeShare takes that away! Cons There is nothing I don't like about this program! I used it a lot and found it very helpful for sharing videos with my students. Pros I liked that I could share videos with my students without having to worry about what kinds of ads might pop up. My students looked for the "SafeShare" videos in Google Classroom and recognized the company as a positive approach to sharing appropriate video content. Even the title "SafeShare" is educational, because we need to be cautious when viewing and sharing videos. Cons That it is no longer free. :( Also, some videos were blocked or I couldn't convert them to SafeShare for some reason, but I couldn't determine why. Vimeo videos didn't work either. Pros This is great for classroom and school use to ensure that instructional videos are not interrupted with distracting annotations or advertisements that can sometimes be inappropriate. I also appreciate the ability to trim a video when only a portion of the video is needed. There are many options for accessing the Safe Share views and it has always met my expectations. Cons I wish there wasn't a limit on the number of views without a Premium membership. It’s great for anyone looking to take YouTube videos and delete ads and make sure they are safe! Pros I love the easiness of safeshare. It takes away ads and makes sure my videos are safe! I use this weekly to share you tube stories for my 2nd Graders. It keeps them focused with out ads popping up. It’s great! Cons I wish the free version allowed me more than 20 videos to capture. Pros I like that students go into safeview and can view a youtube video without getting into other videos or ads. I like that students can stop and start the video as needed too. My students are easily able to click the link and watch the video without any distractions or extra stuff popping up. I usually put 1-2 videoes up each week. I’ve highly recommended safeshare to teacher friends and others. Pros I love how easy it is to use and cuts out the extra ads and other items my students do not need to see. Cons I use the free version due to lack of funding at school. I wish I could save more videoes on the free version. I reuse videos from year to year, but sometimes have to delete and save one again. Safeshare enables me to pick and show videos to my class, without adds and inappropriate material showing up. Pros I should say first that I am a teacher. The best thing about safeshare for me is that it weeds out all the adds and inappropriate junk that is attached to videos in utube, or the open web. I love that I can save and categorize videos in my playlist, then they are stored and ready when I need them. It keeps my videos stored for future use as well! SafeShare.tv is a must for videos you want students to have a direct link to - no worries of clicking on links to websites you don’t want them to go to! Pros I love that you can cut out all ads and side-bar info from youtube. I also love that you can edit the length of the video. It is fairly easy to use and completely necessary at times. Cons I do not like that you have to pay, and especially how few free options you get now. I used it before there was a paid option, and I now have to delete old ones to create new ones. I should purchase the tool, but as a teacher, I have limited funds, and this is not a necessary fund. I don't need to worry about YouTube suggested videos popping up at the end and displaying questionable or distracting content! Cons When I post a safeshare link to Google Classroom, I cannot see the preview of the video the way that I can with a YouTube URL, nor can I embed a video to a Slides presentation from SafeShare. I kind of feel sorry for teachers who don't know about it. Because it is a secure and reliable way to share videos with students. Pros I like that I can upload videos for my students that will not have inappropriate advertisements on the side. Also, I can always find and access my videos from year to year very easily. Cons I wish I could upload videos from other places than youtube and vimeo. Also, some videos that don't have offensive content are marked as having offensive content.
