### "Great for educators"

June 21, 2019

5.0

I have been using safeshare.tv for years. This is the first year I had to purchase it. I asked my parent-teacher organation to cover the cost. As a third grade teacher, I want to avoid unseemly, uninvited, distracting advertisements from popping up while showing video clips to my students in class or sharing them to be viewed at home. Safeshare.tv is an excellent resource to ensure my students' safety and innocence.

Pros

I love safeshare.tv because I can share videos with my students without all of the pop-ups, advertisement, and links to other distracting (and sometimes inappropriate) enticements that are on the Youtube.com site.

Cons

Safeshare.tv just started charging for their services the past academic school year. Prior to that, it had been a free service. I feel that, as an educator, the price is pretty steep. I would not have been able to cover the cost if my local parent-teacher organization hadn't agreed to cover the cost this year. I don't know if they will continue to be so generous in the future. I feel you should look into the cost for educators. Furthermore, I was very disappointed that, even after upgrading to the paid plan, all of my previous videos had to be redone. I had links embedded in power point and other education media as well as my classroom website. I had to go in and update every single one of my links manually. What a pain! I felt this was poor customer service and thanks for long-time customers. You should look into ways to remedy that if you want to retain customers.

### "Safe Learning Made Easy"

March 21, 2020

5.0

Overall, I would still recommend SafeShare.tv especially for educational use (parents would like it too if they don't mind paying the yearly subscription). My school does pay the annual subscription so that I can make unlimited safeshare links for my online planbook each school year. This is especially helpful when trying to use learning videos, read aloud storybooks or other online material with students. I simply attached the safeshare link directly into my content. I don't have to worry about inappropriate commercials/ads showing up in the middle of my young students viewing learning materials.

Pros

SafeShare.tv allows users (great for teachers) to remove the annoying ads that pop up during computer use when viewing media content online. It makes safe viewing so easy - it converts a media link to a safeshare.tv link (no ads) that can be quickly saved then shared. It stores the media links on the dashboard for future usage.

Cons

Safeshare.tv could do a better job with cataloging all the video links that are saved on the dashboard. I would like to see them offer "folders" or other organizational tools to "file" all of the videos/learning links that I've accumulated over time. Users need to be able to create/edit this "folders" (e.g for teachers math, science, reading). For parents (e.g. how to videos, storybooks, recipe links). Right now, safeshare offers a general search tool which may or may not find the video link you may be looking for in the search.

### "Safeshare makes using videos worry free"

June 19, 2019

5.0

Overall, I love safe share. I used the free version for a year or so and then decided to subscribe. It is an investment in my teaching that is worth it! I would recommend it to a teacher who wants to incorporate more video clips into teaching without the worry.

Pros

Safeshare makes it very easy to download YouTube videos and create videos where you do not have to worry about what pops up at the end or ads in the middle. I like how I can save my safe views for easy access at another time. Whether you pay so you can have unlimited safe share videos or use the limited free version, it is a great product and I am very quick to recommend it to my colleagues.

Cons

I wish I could organize my safe shares by subject without having to create playlists. I like to upload links to the videos in Google Classroom and I do;t always want my students to watch the entire playlist. I also wish I could use safe share for TeacherTube and other things.

### "Great way to be safe!"

July 7, 2019

5.0

SafeShare has allowed me to help my students be more engaged in learning through the use of educational videos that are easily saved, cut, and accessed throughout the school day.

Pros

SafeShare allows you to share Youtube and other videos with children without inappropriate adds popping up. I use a lot of short videos to help with transitions in my first grade classroom. Through the use of SafeShare, I am able to put safe links in a document that allow me to quickly pull up these videos. When you create a link, it is saved on you dashboard so that you can access it later. I also like that I am able to quickly cut the beginning and ending off of the videos if they contain advertisements or information that I do not need.

Cons

I am only allowed to save 20 SafeShare videos. This means that I have to delete the ones I am not currently using to make room for the ones that I need.

### "Safe Share Keeps Me From Pulling Out My Hair"

June 24, 2019

5.0

Pros

I sincerely enjoy how simple it is to use when plugging in a url and I have the options to trim and edit the length of the video I’m sharing. I also love now all of my shares are archived within my account for easy accessibility. I teach art and I have little to no time between classes so this software is incredible at helping keep links organized and ready to go without any worry!

Cons

I wish I could have a teacher platinum pass and have unlimited shares to log and archive within my account. I’m constantly playing “eenie-meenie-miney-mo’ “ when giving an older or less relevant video the boot to simply upload and save a current one. It’s hard to limit my shares to 20 or less when I teach grade levels k-5 and almost 700 kids a week. There are just too many quality and impactful clips to help amplify my lesson project not to share!

### "Great for the classroom"

June 25, 2019

4.0

Overall, I am very pleased. I use safeshare almost daily and have recommended it to several colleagues. Customer service has been exceptional. I had a billing issue that was resolved quickly and fairly.

Pros

I am an elementary school teacher and this software has been so helpful. I am able to use YouTube content without worry of inappropriate commercials popping up or extra content being visible that may not be something I would want my students to see.

Cons

It can be confusing to use at first (especially if you have little computer knowledge). While I can use it just fine, when trying to convince my colleagues to use it, too, it’s confusing. I would also like to see an option to maybe categorize the videos (like these are all for science, these math, etc.). I know you can make a playlist with this, but I think this would make it easier.

### "Awesome!"

June 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

I love that I can use this in my classroom. Nowadays, teachers have to get educational videos for classroom use off of YouTube. I hate putting up a YouTube streamed video for my students to watch because I am always nervous about the ads that will pop up that are inappropriate. I love that I am put the link right into SafeShare and feel good about what I am showing my students. I also love that it saves all of my videos. I used SafeSahre mainly this year to show math songs and it was a great feature to be able to go back into the saved videos to replay old favorites.

Cons

The only thing I would change is being able to have more than 20 free videos, however, I also understand that this company needs to also receive compensation for their awesome product!

### "SafeShare saved me!"

June 19, 2019

5.0

I used to use YouTube and I would have to sit at my desk to close out ads or to play the next video I wanted my students to see. Teaching a special education class of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten makes it hard to sit at the desk. Using SafeShare.tv has allowed me to click on my play list and then join my students in sing-a-longs. I will definitely continue to use SafeShare.tv.

Pros

The pro of this software is that it takes out the ads and leaves me free to be with my students. I can add my videos to a play list and walk away and let the videos play.

Cons

As an educator who cannot afford to pay out of my own pocket, I use the free program. This program limits me to only 20 videos. I wish that educators who are using it as a single use could get 50 free videos.

### "Safeshare - my thoughts "

June 29, 2019

5.0

Overall I just love safeshare for the reasons stated above. I have recommended it to so many other teachers and they use it.

Pros

Convenient storage of my links for student use in the classroom Easy to assess I love the ad free feature - removes all fear of anything inappropriate appearing I like that I can start and stop the video wherever I want I can depend on the product to be consistent and reliable

Cons

That there is now a free use limit. I use a lot of links as I teach music for 6 grade levels and use many links for a variety of music topics to represent my curriculum. I’ve had to seek out other programs to provide a free safe feature for my students because a limit was in place.

Reason for choosing SafeShare.tv

It came highly recommended Very easy to navigate Reliable

### "SafeShare is great, however...."

June 27, 2019

5.0

Pros

I love that the product takes a regular link to something like a Youtube video intended to be shown to a class of 7 year- olds and will make sure that no inappropriate language, pictures, etc. pop-up during it. It is like having an insurance policy that gives you peace of mind that you are covered in that area.

Cons

Cost---it used to be a free product for teachers and now we have to pay after so many uses. I wish there was a way that your company could get a grant or donation from a corporation that would help cover these costs for teachers. As you see, the county does not pay for this for us (even though we would get in trouble if inappropriate things popped up!) and we have so many things we pay for out of pocket as it is.

### "The best in the business!"

July 5, 2019

5.0

Love it! I have it saved to my address bar and use it daily!

Pros

Hi! I often show videos/clips to my class to help understanding and promote learning growth. Unfortunately, most of these video stem from a 3rd party website like dailymotion, youtube, or vimeo that contain ads, and sidebar links that can distract students from the video. I found safeshare.tv last year through my IT department and was HOOKED! You simply copy and paste the link into safeshare and they generate a screen of just the video you want...NO ADS, NO DISTRACTING SIDEBARS!!!! It has helped my students and learning objectives stay on point. They also can save your video links in your convenient channel so you can view them EASILY the next day. If you're tired of hearing, "Can we watch that video next?" then get safeshare.tv TODAY!!!!

Cons

They will only let you save a limited number of links :( But, it's around 20!

### "Great product until filter was added"

June 26, 2019

4.0

Great product until the filter was added; I was constantly not allowed to post my videos because of "sensitive material" in my videos. There was never anything even remotely close to sensitive material and I wasn't able to post announcements through SafeShare that day. Very frustrating and happened frequently near the end of the school year. Will most likely not renew because of this issue.

Pros

Ease of use Had been great for "safe" streaming of campus video announcements (without the junk of YouTube) - (until I started having problems with the filter this year)

Cons

Customer support - not being able to get immediate help and speak to a person directly; I was responsible for posting daily announcements and didn't have time to wait/hope for a possible solution. And then have to play email tag over several days to find the right solution. A direct email address or phone number should be available when customers have problems with the product.

### "Good Product Terrible Support"

January 13, 2022

3.0

Pros

The software is easy to use and allows me to safely show YouTube videos.

Cons

The big con I have is with their support. The only way to contact them is through their support ticket feature under Support and they are extremely slow to respond. We purchased the Premium to not be restricted on the number of saves. I attempted to add some staff to my team, but kept getting the message that they were on another team. They logged in and showed to be on the free version and there was no where they could remove themselves from a team. Support closed my original ticket as resolved when the issue was not resolved.

Reason for choosing SafeShare.tv

Ease of use, but since we renewed our Premium license we have had issues and support has been very slow to respond.

### "SafeShare.tv Teacher Review"

June 20, 2019

5.0

I loved using this website in my classroom & would recommend it to all teachers.

Pros

I loved that it allowed me to safely share YouTube videos with my 3rd graders. I never had to worry about inappropriate and/or distracting ads popping up when I was trying to teach. I also liked that I could save them for later use (there were some videos that I needed daily). I liked being able to edit the length of the video before I uploaded it. I could set it to start & stop exactly where I wanted. This was a nice feature because many YouTube begin & end with a lot of talking that is irrelevant to my instruction.

Cons

The only thing I didn’t like was there was a limit to the amount of videos I could keep saved. As previously mentioned, there were some videos I needed daily. As my collection of saved videos grew, I would have to delete 1 in order to upload a new one.

### "Great classroom resource! "

June 25, 2019

5.0

Safehare has been immensely helpful to me as an elementary school teacher. It allows my class to view videos without worry about autoplaying another video, random ads popping up, or inappropriate language or content. It's wonderful to be able to tell my kids that they can pick any video without having to veto their choices, as I know everything on SafeShare is appropriate for my youngsters!

Pros

The process of transferring a video is simple and easy, and the user interface is likewise intuitive and easy to navigate. SafeShare's focus on providing safe content is clear, and it filtered out several videos as inappropriate due to mild (but still offensive to some) language that I hadn't caught in my preview.

Cons

Some possible improvements include making it possible to copy over only a small portion of a video (especially helpful for longer videos that we just want a snippet of, or videos that have inappropriate content in an area we don't plan to watch). Another idea is to make a way to file videos (for example, I could save videos in a "Science" "Social Studies" or "Math" folder) to keep clutter down.

### "SafeShare"

July 30, 2019

5.0

Pros

That it shows only the video you want kids to see. We link all of our youtube videos through safeshare. We curate and vet free and open educational resources (OERS) for teachers, students, and families so it is important that only the video we are sharing appears and not all of the options generally showing on a youtube link.

Cons

It is a little clunky to use. Could be fewer steps to getting to the option to copy the link.

Reason for choosing SafeShare.tv

We started using safeshare back in its early days when it was free. Glad you kept the price low or we would have considered switching. We use it extensively and share with teachers the many benefits of the tool.

### "Safe Share is GREAT for educators!"

July 2, 2019

5.0

This is a great program for teaching classes and has been so useful! It helps protect our kids from extra stuff the internet can send our way.

Pros

SO GRATEFUL that there is a way to share a YouTube video with my 5th grade classroom with out distracting or embarassing commercials. I also love that you can cut or crop a video to make it just right for a lesson. It is also great that the video stops by itself and does not go on to another video. That way I don't have to be standing right by my computer and can continue teaching. This is a great product.

Cons

Of course I would like to have the ability to store more videos in the free version. (I think the limit is 16 or so???) I often have to delete and the add videos through the year. Of course, I understand that there have to be some perks for the paid version, so it makes sense.

### "SafeShare.TV makes it easy to share important videos with kids"

September 16, 2019

5.0

I use Safeshare.tv to share educational videos with my Y5-6th Grade Students. I love it that it takes advertising and links out of YouTube videos so that my students only see videos I have approved.

Pros

I like that SafeShare.tv removes YouTube advertising and the "YouTube" button from videos, so that when I have students watch educational videos, they cannot use an embedded link to be free on YouTube.

Cons

Honestly, I use this nearly every day, and I don't think I know of any cons to this product. It works exactly the way I want it to.

### "SafeShare is great for history teachers!"

July 3, 2019

5.0

SafeShare is great for teachers! I have a premium subscription and I have encouraged several of my colleagues in my school to use SafeShare. I recommend SafeShare to ALL educators.

Pros

As a history teacher, I refer to video clips for much of my lessons to enhance the content being taught. YouTube has a plethora of material, and SafeShare makes it easier for me to take this material and make it part of my lessons. I am able to find the history clip that I need, get rid of the ads, and adjust the video to make it applicable to my lesson. The students find this very helpful! Some of my students have created their own SafeShare accounts to use when presenting information in projects.

Cons

My only con is that some of the video clips that I need are deemed "inappropriate" by SafeShare because of the battle content. Videos that I use are on materials such as the American Revolution and Civil War. In the past, I've had to find another video on YouTube or email SafeShare directly to get access to the video.

### "LOVE Safeshare "

June 25, 2019

5.0

Keeps unwanted inappropriate ads from being seen that you tube and other websites allow. It really is SAFE!

Pros

\- Safeshare is very easy to navigate and learn how to use. This is a real life saver when it comes to being a busy teacher with little time to learn a new program. -It is appealing to the eye and not cluttered up with so much that you don’t know where to find what you need. - IT WORKS! No need to worry about unwanted or inappropriate ads starting before or after your video. - It allows you to save your videos for years. The link may not work any more, but it helps you remember what you used with a picture, and you can refresh the link and resave it. - It allows for a pretty large view list to be saved even at the basic level (premium is offered for more options). - Dependability— ALWAYS UP AND RUNNING

Cons

I HAVE NONE! I truly have not come across anything that didn’t satisfy me!

Reason for choosing SafeShare.tv

I tried Safeshare and I was hooked. Easy as that! It’s just easy, and better.

### "SafeShare"

July 2, 2019

3.0

Overall, SafeShare has enhanced lessons for my students because it allows me to use technology, a platform with which they are very familiar.

Pros

I love converting YouTube videos that I use for instruction into safe formats so there is no risk of something inappropriate popping up during a lesson. I love getting 20 free SafeShares as well.

Cons

I didn’t like that the videos generated an automatic description every time. Sometimes the descriptions would exceed the character limit, which did not allow the SafeShare to be created which added an extra step for me. I also had trouble loading the site frequently, which interrupted the flow of my lessons.

### "Great way to collect and organize YouTube videos for teaching"

July 17, 2019

5.0

YouTube videos can be great attention-getters and visual aides for lessons I teach in the classroom. However, sometimes playing directly from YouTube results in inappropriate ads popping up, or an unwanted video autoplaying. SafeShare solves that problem, and gives you tools to organize the videos you want to show.

Pros

I like that SafeShare provides a way to show YouTube videos without exposing students to ads and autoplay videos that may show something you do not want them to see. The videos play without any ads popping up and when they are over, it just stops. You can also organize videos into folders and playlists. It's free for up to 20 videos, but you have to pay to keep more. It's worth it, to me, for the peace of mind, and ease of use in lessons.

Cons

It was confusing when I was first trying to play videos. You don't just double click the video you want to play--you have to click it to select, then click the triangle icon on the side menu to play. It is a little cumbersome. I wish it was still free.

### "LOVE this app! "

June 21, 2019

5.0

Quick, easy ability to safely share videos with my class.

Pros

As a teacher, I use Safeshare on a daily basis. It is absolutely wonderful to have a way to show YouTube content to my class without annoying (and often inappropriate) ads! I also appreciate that students can't see the other available videos that show up when choosing the right one. Creating SafeShares is quuck and easy as well. The ability to create playlists has saved me tons of time, and is the main reason I pay for the subscription.

Cons

The cost is a bit high. I would like it better if it was just a flat yearly fee closer to $25.

### "Safeshare is a Safe alternative for our School!"

July 11, 2019

5.0

Many educational videos on are on youtube. When you stream directly from youtube there are suggestions at the end of the video that are not vetted. It is not a good idea to have videos pop up in front of students. I like my teachers to use SafeShare because I can guarantee my parents their children are not being exposed to content that is not vetted.

Pros

I like that there are no suggestions of ads or additional videos at the end of the video we watch I also like that you can create groups of videos and they are saved in one place. It makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

Cons

nothing. I was mostly unhappy with my employees that chose not to use it!
