It is easy to use. love it. but it should be free for teachers.

### "Great for the Classroom"

November 23, 2021

5.0

My overall experience with SafeShare.tv is very positive. I often share this site with other teachers.

Pros

I like that I can show YouTube videos to my students and they don't see the commercials and/or comments made by people. Many of these are inappropriate for the classroom.

Cons

So far, there is not anything that I really don't like about it.

### "Great Product But Can't Justify Paying For It"

July 10, 2019

5.0

I love using your product and would definitely continue to do so if it were free.

Pros

Its simplicity and reliability are fantastic. The ability to scrub videos to lengthen and shorten is very helpful. Blocking the upcoming videos from view is another great feature.

Cons

Unfortunately, having to pay for it made it unusable for me. I couldn't justify asking my administration for money to pay for it when I could "edit" YouTube videos by hitting play/pause.

### "Safe viewing for Kindergarten "

June 20, 2019

5.0

I love Safeshare and have used it for many years for use in kindergarten through to grade three classrooms!

Pros

Safeshare makes viewing videos commercial free for classroom use. It’s the best way to show video clips to young learners. I use it every day!

Cons

There are times it gets glitches. When creating a new one , It can get stuck and not play. Once generated it’s awesome. It could be a glitch on our school network or with Safeshare. I’m not sure.

### "SafeShare tv Use in School"

July 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

Using safeShare tv allows me to safely share educational you tube videos with my students without them seeing anything else except the video - no ads, distractions, inappropriate material. I use it daily for a movement song brain break or educational song.

Cons

In the playlists the videos automatically play one right after the other. I would like to put my videos in playlists and use that function without the continual play

### "Remove ads and inappropriate contenf"

April 22, 2022

4.0

YouTube's increased reliance on ads in the recent years had led us to stop showing helpful videos we had previously utilized as part of our programming. Our inability to control the content of advertisements meant our clients missed out on an important part of their treatment. With the addition of SafeShare.tv, we have been able to bring back this component of our treatment, which has resulted in more positive results for our clients.

Pros

We routinely show YouTube videos in our mental health and substance abuse groups. The proctors who oversee the playing of the videos are not the counselors who chose the videos. With SafeShare, our senior staff can edit out potentially triggering content and also ensure that advertisements that promote alcohol use are not accidentally shown during the video presentations.

Cons

Editing the videos then disseminating them to the appropriate classes is time consuming. It can be frustrating for our counselors to have to go over each video with a fine tooth comb. It is by no means a process that can be done in a matter of minutes, but the ability to ensure that our clients are not exposed to triggering scenes outweighs the time commitment.

### "Wish it was like before"

July 6, 2019

5.0

Due to those links no longer being available, I am no longer using them.

Pros

What I loved about Safeshare.tv is that I could take instructional YouTube videos and insert them into safeshare for a SAFE link that assured me that my first graders would not have to see inappropriate ads.

Cons

This past year, I received messages that the links that I had used previously were no longer going to be available. The bad part of that is that I had organized my best instructional videos that had Safeshare links into an excel spreadsheet and when I came back to school this past year and was told that those links were not going to be able to be used anymore, I was quite disappointed. It took me a long time to go and find the instructional video on YouTube for each safeshare link that I had.

### "Safe Share Tv in the Elementary classroom "

June 27, 2019

5.0

I feel so much safer as a teacher showing videos from various sources without inappropriate adds flashing across the screen for a commercial break. I had this happen one times too many and safeshare tv has been a life saver.

Pros

I absolutely love being able to have all the videos I need in one place. It saves time for viewing, discussion, and quality instruction.

Cons

My least favorite thing about this software is that unless you go premium there is an allotted number of videos you can save. Unfortunately I haven’t been successful in getting my school to sign up for a premium membership.

### "Eliminating Video Distractors"

July 5, 2019

5.0

SafeShare.tv has assisted with eliminating distractors all too common with watching YouTube videos -- advertisements, recommended videos, and comments! This has helped keep my students on task when their teachers incorporate videos into their lessons to support teaching and learning.

Pros

I enjoyed the ease of use, ability to sign in with Google credentials, and ability to use the SafeShare.tv "safe link" forever into the future (as long as the YouTube or Vimeo channel does not remove their video). Speaking strictly from an education perspective, the solution has assisted with eliminating distractors all too common with watching YouTube videos -- advertisements, recommended videos, and comments!

Cons

I wish there was the ability to create custom shortened SafeShare.tv links once the "safe link" is created (similar to a bit.ly) with the complimentary plan.

### "Great resource to make online videos safe to show in classroom!"

July 5, 2019

4.0

It has been great. I have highly recommended it’s use to many of my colleagues.

Pros

This has been a great comfort being able to put videos in to block ads and other pop ups that can be bad or disruptive to the learning process.

Cons

Being limited to 10 for the free version is hard. I wish for substitute teacher ease that you could just use hyperlinks in our lesson plans that go there without having to be in my Google account etc.

### "Simple, Safe Way to Show Videos"

July 5, 2019

5.0

Posting a video on SafeShare.tv couldn’t be easier! 1. Go to the video you want to share and copy the url 2. Navigate to SafeShare 3. Paste the url in the indicated box and enter 4. A box will open to log in 5. The “SafeView” opens with simple editing tools to trim, and options to add to a custom playlist, write your own description, make private, or hide the control buttons 6. Finally, go to your “SafeViews”, choose a video, a buttons to delete, edit, share, or play appear. My district originally had SafeShare blocked, but it was easy to get that changed when I showed that virtually everything that was objectionable about other video sites was missing from SafeShare.tv!

Pros

Students or friends only see what you want them to see. No unwanted “suggestions”. Students cannot just search for videos like they can at other sites. Acceptable to schools that block access to other video sites.

Cons

I would like to see a few more editing options.

### "Fantastic for teachers"

July 16, 2019

5.0

This is the best thing! Teachers love and depend on SafeShare and we love it. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Pros

We love Safe Share for it's ease and how it makes all content safe for kiddos.

Cons

There are not any cons. Of course, I wish I could save more without purchasing the product but I am incredibly grateful I can use this product for free. As a teacher, funds are very limited and we love and depend on SafeShare.

### "ad-free viewing of YouTube videos "

July 3, 2019

5.0

Overall I have loved what this service offers. I think it’s a great service. I think it’s great for parents, especially those with young children.

Pros

I appreciate being able To create ad-free links to viewing YouTube videos. Once the video is completed, it will not automatically play other videos like YouTube does.

Cons

This service ONLY works with YouTube and Vimeo video links. The free version only allows for 20 video links. As a parent this would be fine, even the price for more video storage isn’t bad for a parent. As a teacher, my opinion changes. When I taught lower elementary, I found it s little challenging as I would max out my 20 links and then have to pay my own money if I wanted more. It might be reasonable for some teachers to do that. However, when I moved up to middle school Literature, it became too expensive. I wanted to post links to audio book chapters, documentaries related to historical fiction novels, plays and movie versions of the stories we read (for comparison), etc. With 6 different classes and different grade levels, I needed an extensive amount of storage. My administration wouldn’t pay for it. They didn’t like the per teacher price. They wanted a per department price that was reasonable. I wish there was a different structure for schools that was more affordable. With our students moving to 1:1 Chromebooks next year, it will be even more important. However, funds are tight after purchasing the Chromebooks.

### "Teacher's Take"

June 28, 2019

4.0

Pros

I uses to use shafeshare daily in my 1st grade classroom. It allowed me to integrate videos into my instruction with minimal transition time and no worries about the ads that may show up being appropriate for children.

Cons

Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to pay to use safeshare. This means that since paying subscriptions have been required, I have unfortunately had to stop using this service. In the past I recommended safeshare to my coworkers frequently, but now I am not able to do that knowing that people would have to pay for this service.

### "SafeShare is invaluable to me!"

July 1, 2019

4.0

Pros

As an Elementary Art Teacher I share many you tube videos with my students. Without the ability to block unwanted material, I could not do my job! I have enjoyed the recent feature of being able to store all of my videos in one place and to be confident they will be secure.

Cons

The only problem I had was that I was occasionally unable to view my videos. The technology was not always reliable.

### "Lifesaver for teachers! "

Excellent! It helps me in a pinch or with planning ahead to have safe links. Less worry and stress thanks to Safeshare.tv!

Pros

Safeshare.tv is a staple in my kindergarten classsroom. I use YouTube on a daily basis and safeshare.tv allows me to do this with confidence and ease. I no longer worry about the inappropriate ads and videos on YouTube since Safeshare.tv will let my students and families view all videos in a age- appropriate manner. I won’t teach without it!

Cons

Safeshare.tv is. little clunky when it comes to creating playlists. I wish this would be more streamlined.

### "Safeshare in the Elementary Classroom"

June 19, 2019

5.0

Again, I have truly enjoyed using this product as an educator.

Pros

Safeshare allows me to show my elementary students valuable, informative videos without the worry of something inappropriate popping onto my screen (or their screens, for that matter) at any point during our viewing. The quality of the videos is excellent. The ability to organize my content on Safeshare is quite helpful as well.

Cons

I only regret having to pay for this service. I had previously gotten this for free, which is why I especially liked this resource. I do not get reimbursed for using Safeshare due to my school's budget, so I have to pay for this out of my own pocket. As a teacher, that is unfortunately just one more thing that I now have to pay for out of my own pocket.

### "Great for digital classrooms"

July 17, 2019

4.0

Overall it's been great. Would love to cut videos down by taking out the start, a chunk in the middle and the end to be able to use them in class.

Pros

Love that you can save videos to grab again, and trimming them down is very easy. Easy to share, no worries about ads or linking to other videos which is important when using it in class.

Cons

Starting in 2019 it would say unable to play for about half of the class, and work just fine for the other half. Because of this we couldn't always rely on being able to use it. When we use it for our daily wiggle break that was a problem.

### "Thankful "

August 12, 2019

4.0

My overall experience has been good ! Really No Issues to Report.

Pros

I really appreciate using the Free version. I am in the education field - I have Kindergarten classes each day as a spcialty class. Having safeshare to use to watch videos / stories on it Great! There being no adds pop up is a Blessing ! I do not have money to spend in the classesroom so having this Free option Works !

Cons

I have to use the Free Version of this and sometimes wish I could save more videos at a time, But I also understand why there is a limit. I do not have funds given to me by the school district to use in my room, So I will take the Free Verions and what Options are there !

### "The title is in it's name"

July 2, 2019

5.0

My overall experience with SafeShare.tv has been excellent. I don't know of any other product that blocks unwanted content from a web link.

Pros

The web is a great resource for me to bring places, spaces, animals, culture, fiction, nonfiction and so much more to my students in our classroom; however, the web can be full of unwanted and irrelevant information also. SafeShare.tv allows me to use technology that is safe and appropriate for my students from any link on the web without fear of unwanted information. I highly recommend SafeShare.tv.

Cons

I do not subscribe to the unlimited use of this product; therefore, I am limited to the number of links I can use. It would be wonderful if this product was offered unlimited links to those of us in public education.

### "SafeShare.tv is Super!"

June 26, 2019

5.0

I have had a great experience with SafeShare.tv. I am an Elementary school teacher and SafeShare is my go-to when I need to share a youtube video with my class and I don't want all the extra hype before or after. I am grateful for the opportunities SafeShare.tv has given me to safely share videos with my class so I don't have to be right next to my computer to exit out when the video ends. It is so easy to download my videos. SafeShare.tv is an excellent resource I am excited to have!

Pros

I like how easy it is to create safe shares, the directions are very simple. I appreciate the fact that I can truly share youtube videos safely without the worry of seeing inappropriate additions at the end or beginning of the video.

Cons

I have the free version and I wish I could save more videos. I use this when I teach and cannot afford the paid version, so more space would be awesome.

### "safe for students"

July 17, 2019

4.0

I want my students to be exposed to the amazing educational opportunities youtube has opened up, but want to control or guide what they are exposed to, not subject them to what youtube wants to sell them. I also didn't want them to see vulgar comments or inappropriate ads, or anything parents might not approve of. I just wish there were more affordable tiers for schools to sign up for. Some options between 10 and unlimited.

Pros

As a music teacher, I love that this program eliminates the risk that my students will see or hear something they shouldn't.

Cons

It was easier to use when I could copy and paste the youtube link and voila - finished. Unfortunately, the process has become more complicated. You now have to create an account and you are limited to only 10 free ones! My school could not pay for a subscription so as a result, I've stopped using this program.

### "Great product for teachers"

June 25, 2019

4.0

The ease of typing in one website/bookmarking safeshare and having the videos I need for class right there. I don’t have to mess with YouTube and waste class time or have a million tabs open. It’s a really innovative resource that makes showing educational content off YouTube easy and G rated. It’s much appreciated!

Pros

I love that I can look up videos from YouTube and compile them in a playlist to use during my classes. I’m able to edit and play the parts I want of certain videos so students only see what I need them to. Plus there are no ads that pop up which is my greatest worry when I use YouTube, because you never know what might come up. There are great resources on there and Safeshare.tv takes away that ad worry.

Cons

Some of the layout of the site itself can be tricky to use when you first start out. I wish there was a way to create more playlists on the free trial as well. I signed up for the monthly membership for more storage but it was hard to work with my personal bank due to their base/corporation being in England. I have since gone back to the free version and add or delete what I need.

### "Making Youtube Safe for Young Viewers"

September 30, 2020

5.0

This product is, in my mind, a necessary digital tool for teachers of young students. It allows you to capture a Youtube video and share it in a safer venue. I have used it for 2-3 years and will continue to do so in my kindergarten classroom. It was brought to my attention by a fellow teacher. At the time, I was unaware of another website that allowed for this kind of safe viewing. It's appropriately named and worth checking out if you love Youtube, but aren't always comfortable with children surfing it freely.

Pros

I love being able to pull a story or song off Youtube for my students without all of the superfluous videos popping up for them to click on or request. Youtube can be a great tool for teaching, but with all of the inappropriate postings, it's important to be able to protect young children, and Safeshare lets me do this with confidence.

Cons

The free version only allows a small amount of shares. School budgets are usually tight so I appreciate the option to do some shares, but I'd like a few more complimentary ones.
