Teacher Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very helpful at quickly editing content" June 21, 2019 5.0 Overall I use it all the time in my classroom to make sure that the content of videos is appropriate. Pros I love that this software gets rid of all the ads and is blocks the videos when it deems the content to be inappropriate. I use it all the time when I want to show a quick video. Although I do not use the premium version, I love that I have been able to save a few videos to refer back to the next year. Cons I don't like that I cannot save all of my videos and sometimes it takes a while for the software to create the safe share video. On occasion I find that the software will not create videos when I am teaching about certain wars because it deems the content inappropriate. Review Source LJ Lynne J. Pros As a classroom teacher of young children having SafeShare for videos found on the internet has been a wonderful thing. Pros I love that I can create videos or link to videos and not worry that my students may be exposed to an unwelcomed advertisement. Cons The free version does limit the amount of data you can have, but that means I just keep my videos in rotation. The platform and dashboard are easily managed. If not, thank you for providing Safe Share TV - FOR FREE - for the past (I think 5 or 6 years) Pros I have been using Safe Share TV for many years to provide SAFETY for all of the students in our school district. Your safe and easy product allowed me to share so many engaging and purposeful videos to enhance student learning! Cons I have to say that I was strongly disappointed when I was unable to use this wonderful site any longer without paying for it...As a teacher, I am not approved to pay for Safe Share TV. Pros It eliminated ads, especially unsafe material that would be inappropriate for my students. It was a quick link that gave me more time for instruction. It saved every video, etc. for future reference and generally supported my role as a teacher. Pros This is a great way to show worship songs and video from Youtube without the advertisements. I also enjoy creating playlist for my classroom so that one song plays in the next without having to press play repeatedly. Cons It doesn't always load the video. Music Teacher Music Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Lifesaver" June 19, 2019 5.0 I use YouTube videos constantly in my teaching, and I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to play a video for my students and been interrupted by an, at best, irrelevant, and at worst, inappropriate ad. I teach K-8th-grade students at a private Christian school, so ads for condoms, birth control, horror movies, or even swimsuits are not really what I want these students to see. SafeShare makes it possible for me to have a video link embedded wherever I need it and not worry about offensive adds popping up. Pros I LOVE that I can load videos from YouTube and not worry about ads popping up before or during the video. Cons It had a bit of a learning curve...at least for me. I'm not super tech savvy, so I definitely had to take my time to figure things out. I was also sad that in order to create more playlists, I had to sign up for a paid account. As an educator, I am always acutely aware of the content that I am exposing my students to. I always want to make sure that all videos and extra resources that I use are appropriate for my students to view. Utilizing SafeShare.tv make this possible and EASY! I can show a video to my students with no concern that something inappropriate may accidentally pop up! Cons I would really like to see something for educators. I frequently use this website and there are already so many things that educators have to pay out of pocket for, it would be nice if there was an educator discount or a school deal or something along those lines to make it more accessible to educators who may not want to pay out of pocket for SafeShare. This next school year, I will talk with my new technology director about using SafeShare as I think it is a great way to share with students. However depending on the cost, I am not sure my district will provide this for us as there are many other tech license they purchase during the year. Pros I have used SafeShare for quite some time as it was a free outlet to share videos with students during class without the fear of inappropriate pop-ups. Cons Recently I hit my 'free' limit for using Safeshare. As an elementary educator, I thought this was free software and would have limited my uses to save them for extra special shares. Pros SafeShare removes all ads from videos, which can be inappropriate for school. It gives a safe link if you want students to access a certain video without having to go threw the main website like YouTube or Vimeo. You can also start and stop a video at any point. So you can have the link open the video at a certain place when the link is clicked. This is great, especially if there is a specific portion that you want to show. It is extremely easy to use. You just copy the link of the video, put it into safeshare.tv and then pick what settings you want. It will give you a link to share. Easy, simple, great. Cons The software kept flagging my videos as having obscenities and inappropriate language when that was not the case at all. I appreciate that my students can enjoy online books without inappropriate information being introduced. Pros I enjoy the safe aspects of Safeshare tv. My second graders enjoy reading and listening to books online. Safeshare provides a way for students to listen to books online without having an adult worry about inappropriate words or pictures being introduced . This saves time and money for teachers. My students have been exposed to tons of books that I haven’t had to purchase. Win, win situation. Kids are so used to technology and videos that it is impossible to teach without these valuable tools. However, we also need a way to keep students focused on the proper content. That is where SafeShare.tv comes in. Pros This software is a true lifesaver for my classroom. It keeps my kids on the correct videos without all the outside ads and links. The content within some videos, the inappropriate ads, videos coming up one after another, make it nearly impossible for me to use in my classroom. SafeShare allows me to find those unique videos without all the mess that comes with them. Pros The ease of copying and pasting a link is what I like most about SafeShare.tv. It's easy and quick to upload a video from the internet and it scans the clip making sure the content is safe for my students. In addition, I don't have to worry about other videos on the same screen or a new one popping up. Cons I am only allowed 20 safe shares. I have to constantly delete videos in order to make room for a new one. In addition, once and only once was a video rejected. However, I did not find anything inappropriate. Reason for choosing SafeShare.tv I chose SafeShare because it was the name given to me by our IT department. I haven't had the need to try another product because of the ease of using it.
